I am only using the nine main gifts:
Wisdom: Seeing life from God’s perspective
Knowledge: Comprehending Christ and His word
Faith: Visualizing what God wants to accomplish; the result of hearing the Word of God as it is proclaimed and taught
Healing: Removing diseases from the spirit, soul, or body
Diseases of the spirit:
Bitterness
Greed
Guilt
Diseases of the soul:
Discouragement
Worry
Jealousy
And other destructive attitudes
Miracles: Natural or supernatural events with precise timing to bring glory to God
Prophecy: Bringing to light secret motives of the heart
Discernment: Recognizing what is of God vs. the world, the flesh, and the devil
Tongues (languages): Glorifying God through languages and music
Interpretation of tongues: Understanding of tongues
And each of the characters will also exhibit the nine graces as well:
Love
Joy
Peace
Longsuffering
Gentleness
Goodness
Faith
Meekness
Temperance
From this description they kind of sound like the perfect characters, goody-two-shoes, really, but believe me, they each have their shortcomings. I plan on making it like they are fine on their own because they have the strength of God, but they are infinitely better and more complete in their gifts when they are all together. Also, I have a wide variety of villains for them to interact with as well.
There are nine good guys/girls so each one has a specific gift. Like Kenan has the gift of tongues, but the bible says that that gift shouldn't be used in public places unless there is an interpreter, so to show the importance of not being able to have one without the other I have the person that has the gift of interpretation of tongues as his little sister Anila.
They are also young characters, so the reader will be able to grow with them and be able to learn from their mistakes, and hopefully see how they too can live like this with the help of Adonai.
Also, a little note: all of the names used in this story, from the towns/villages, to the people are all Hebrew!
Sounds like the makings of a great story!
