Hello and welcome back home. I'm one of the newbies who moved in during your absence.
Hi.

Actually, eating bacon while lying on a pillow sounds fantastic to me. I've never tried it, though, so I can't be sure it's not just the combination of two amazing things that makes me think that.
Yeah, that can go bad. For example, I like baseball and playing guitar. But trying to play the guitar while stealing second base would be a bad idea.

Can I get a brief intro to who you are? Always fun to meet new writers.
Sorry. I didn't see this post until it was past it's expiration date ... sorta like that cheese in the back of the fridge I shouldn't have eaten. OK, I'm not saying you're like moldy cheese ... wow, communicating can be really hard.
A brief intro? Hmm. That's always tough. I have very eclectic tastes that spill over into my writing. I don't write a specific genre, but because weird things creep in from time to time I was kicked out of the literary fiction club, and this is the only place that would take me.
Despite the wide variety of stories I've written, I really only have 3 characters (and their supporting casts). There is Ben Kiegan (my SF-like dude) whom I invented at the age of 13 because I loved Star Wars. But after people read his story and said, "It's just like Star Wars," I decided I had to invent a whole new genre of writing just for Ben and I've been at it ever since. Then there is Gawain, whom I use to relate my experiences as an engineer (that's how I put food on the table). Finally there is Martin Volker, who is my alternative history guy. And, in a weird way I have trouble explaining, all 3 of them are me and they're all part of one story.
Oh, wait. I forgot about Xavier Brown. He's the really creepy odd duck I dig out of the ground when I'm in a very strange mood and don't intend to write anything serious - though strangely enough some of his stories have been published.
Is that enough to scare you?
