Esara: Nice to meet you, girls. It sounds like you both have lots of fun :) I'm honestly not much on needlework myself, though... I would love to hear your see monster story ;)

Kora: Hey. Yeah, I'll admit I'm not that ladylike. Esara is though.

Esara: Only if ladies run through castles or towns like children.

Me: Where did the others go?

Esara: Syrei took a walk, Ciron disappeared, and Jaelak...

Jaelak: Is right here. And I'm not doing anything I'm not supposed to, I swear.

Me: Why do I not believe that?

Sapphira: I'm enjoying not being DEAD.

Roxdon: And I'm happy she's not dead yet, either.

Me: I'm sorry, that's just how it goes. This is why you two are lying dormant right now...

Sapphira: That and you think the story stinks.

Me: Can I help it if I don't write allegory that well? Now back to your story, both of you. And if you see the Elves, tell them to stay in their stories as well. Apparently the RP charries are the only ones who can behave here.

Esara: Jaelak isn't exactly behaving...

Jaelak: *whispers to Esara* Remember what I said about killing you if you don't keep your mouth shut.

Me: Sorry for this, Juliette and Jasmine. I only let them come to say hi, but they seem to want to talk. Nice to meet you, though :)

Thank you to all who have welcomed and admired my characters!

They (as well as I) were rather shocked at their reception here... they thought for sure you all would just think them odd. :)

I think they may have more to say later on. We'll --

Jasmine: What she means is that she won't let us say any--

Juliette: Oh, hush! You know she doesn't have enough time for this!

Jasmine: So? I really wanted to say hi to everyone! And tell the about the sea--

Juliette: No! you won't say one more word about that sea monster!

Jasmine: *mutters*

Juliette: I know what you are saying... now stop it!

Jasmine: How do you always know?

Juliette: Because I'm brilliant

Jasmine: We're talking, aren't we? Can't I just--

Juliette: No. Besides, you have dishes to do!

Jasmine: Why can't you do--

Juliette: *grabs Jasmine's arm* Let's go!

Me: I really do hope to bring them back for more. :)

Liagiba: Give her some slack, Juliette.
Eiram: Don't do it, Juliette. Or she'll turn out like Lia.
Liagiba: *punches Eiram* Oh, hush.

Very cool, Carissa. Can't wait to hear more from them!

Me: I must say Eiram and Liagiba are very interesting together :)

Kora: You two make a lovely pair...

Esara: Kind of like you and Jaelak?

Kora: Shut up.

Me: Both of you, back to your forum. And why can't you tell us about the sea monster, girls? You have me wondering about it now :)

Me: Yeah, aren't they great together? I just love them!
Liagiba: Why does conversation always have to turn back to this?
Eiram: Lia, do you really want to get into that conversation.
Liagiba: I'd rather not. And please don't call me lovely. Especially not with...
Eiram: You almost said it.
Liagiba: Did not!
Eiram: *sighs* why do I put up with this?
Liagiba: Do you really want me to answer that question?
Me: Oooh! I will!
Eiram and Liagiba: NO.
Me: I'm your writer. Eiram, you put up with it because you love her. Lia, you two are lovely together. Now hush up. Kora and Esara, remind me, how did Kora meat Jaelak?
Liagiba: Isn't there something more interesting to talk about? Like horses and swords?
Eiram: Shush.

Esara: I'm actually not sure, myself...

Kora: I've known him for a while...

Esara: You never did tell me how long that was. He's Celestial, but you were Kumori until just recently.

Kora: *pretends to not be paying attention* Lia, it's a good idea to practice with a blunt knife first, if you want to learn how to use one skillfully. It's very easy to cut yourself otherwise. And don't try very hard tricks right off the bat. Even a blunt knife can poke your eye out or impale someone.

Liagiba: So about how long is this knife? And what tricks may I learn?
Eiram: Please don't teach her, Kora! She'll take my OTHER eye out.
Liagiba: I never took either of your eyes out.
Eiram: Oh yes you did. Remember the black eye?
Liagiba: Well, I had good reason.
Eiram: Did not!
Liagiba: Did too!
Me: GUYS!
Eiram: Right. Please don't, Kora!

Greetings,

I would have liked to participate more in this thread, but I find that none of my characters (except one) could find it in congruence with their nature to participate. They stubbornly refuse to speak, which is fine, because their silence speaks volumes in a story. But they do not like to introduce themselves. Sila would, but I do not have time to fight her tongue back into silence. She is ornery. :)

I have an idea of how to introduce my characters to y'all, but I think it will work better in threads of their own. They will feel more comfortable that way. ;)

Me: Don't you love how we have no control over our charries? XD

Kora: Well, my knife has a blade about six inches long, but I've seen-0

Esara: *clamps hand over Kora's mouth* Eiram asked you not to tell her.

Kora: *elbows Esara*

Esara: Ow! *releases Kora*

Me: See what I mean?

Liagiba: Please! Please Please!
Eiram: No!
Me: C'mon, Eiram, let her try.
Eiram: No.
Liagiba: Hush up Eiram, and you to please, Esara. Does the knife have a curved blade or not?

Kora: No, it's just a straight blade. As long as it isn't too short, so you have something to catch, or too long, which can throw off your timing, it should work. I've never tried a curved blade because it takes more practice. You can't just catch a curved blade anywhere. It's harder to avoid cutting yourself.

Me: I have no idea where she gets all of this... I know nothing about knives. I'd slice my finger off first thing, I'm sure.

Liagiba: Fascinating.
Me: Where's Eiram?
Liagiba: Oh, I sent him to visit the cook.
Me: Why?
Liagiba: *grins* He was being ornery again.

Malchus- I was just saying that I....

Me- Alright we get it, you think they are getting carried away.

Ayanna: Welcome, Malchus and Tyronne. I hope that you are well and will find some enjoyment in spending time with, well, some of us, at least. If--

Forest: Hi! So, what's new? Any adventures going on? If you ever need an expert on dragyn slaying--

Ayanna: Whoa, hold on. Since when are you an expert at dragyn slaying?

Forest: Well, I would say that I did a pretty good job of it in--

Ayanna: (slaps a hand over Forest's mouth) You remember the rules! No giving away plot points, or else we won't be allowed back here. And you're not even supposed to be here! You cause too much trouble.

Forest: (Sarcastically)Oh, yes, Mother.

Ayanna:

Forest: Hey, Malchus. I have to agree with you, some of these authors are getting a little bit carried away. Like ours, just the other day, she tried to--

Me: What's going on here?

Forest: Oh, hi, uh, Elestar.

Me: Alright, knock it off. What are you doing here? Ayanna is my diplomat. You cause too much trouble.

Forest: I'm picking up a theme here. I was just speaking my mind, for once.

Me: You what?! Oh, no. I'm sorry, whoever she spoke to, I apologize. Forest tends to act before she thinks, so I'm sorry if she offended anyone.

Forest: You don't have to apologize for me! It's not like I'm totally tactless.

(cricket chirping)

Forest: Oh, come on! Guys! Hey! Alright. Bye everybody.

Ayanna: Ci ta orla helm gethra ta eemor ha Ofri" remno.

Me: Farewell.

Rhovanion: I haven't seen a dragon in a while. I heard the king used to have one, but I don't know if it's true.

Sellion: What does this dragon that you speak of do?

Sellion: Oh, believe me, I'll mess something up... I always do. I'd probably let the dragon out or something...

Me: Your father didn't think you messed things up.

Sellion: *silent*

Me: Maybe you shouldn't be so hard on yourself.

Sellion: I'll be hard on myself if I want!

Me: Don't forget I'm the author.

I'm a homeschooled writer too! So much fun to actually meet people who share my ideas of life...

Descriptions:

Name: Aaron Darkstar
Nickname: Aaron
Gender: Male
Species: Elf
Height: about 6' or taller
Hair color and style: very black, straight, hangs down over his ears
Eye Color: dark brown
Clothing: black tunic w/ chain mail under, green cloak, black leggings
Age: over 20
Personality: Very quiet, hates large groups of people. A bit stiff with strangers, but funny in a dry sort of way when you get to know him.
Other appearance: Tanned, medium skin, pointed ears (of course!), slender but strong.
Weapons:Hand and a half sword with a dragon head on the pommel, hilt is wrapped with strips of dark blue leather. Also has some skill with the bow, but preferred weapons are sword and small throwing knives.

Name: Arionwyn
Nickname: 'Wyn
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Height: 5' 10"
Hair color and style: very light blond, unruly.
Eye Color: Bright blue
Clothing: Brown tunic, tall boots, chain mail, prefers light armor for agility.
Age: 17
Personality: Outgoing, reckless. Aaron is kind of the voice of common sense to her. ;)
Other appearance: pale skin, tall and slender but not delicate.
Weapons: Light sword, can shoot but not very well.

Arionwyn: Um, aren't you going to introduce us yet?

Me: Oh yeah. Arionwyn is kind of my story twin. Her personality is based on me, but not her looks. I just wish I could look like her...

*Arionwyn tosses her white-blond hair*

Me: And live where she lives... And fight like she fights...

*Arionwyn turns bright red*

Arionwyn: Enough of that.

Me: And now, introducing *drumroll* Aaron! Our other main character, tall, dark, and handsome elven hero with a mysterious past.

*Aaron raises an eyebrow*

Aaron: Mysterious?
Then he notices where he is, and his hand automatically strays to his sword hilt.
Aaron: So many people...

Arionwyn is already making friends, leaving Aaron standing awkwardly in the middle of the room.

Arionwyn: (To Malchus) How odd! Your dragons have cages? I could never think of any of our dragons in a cage. They'd tear the place apart, and besides they'd be horrible to feed.

Arionwyn: Uh-oh. Get Aaron on a topic he likes, and he'll be here for an hour.

*Aaron glares*

Aaron: Long and straight, like most. Hand and a half hilt, with a blue grip and a dragon's head on the pommel. Heavy, just as I like it. Happy, Arionwyn?

Me: It's actually based on a sword in the book Swords: An Artist's Devotion by Ben Boos. http://www.amazon.com/Swords-Artists-Devotion-Ben-Boos/dp/0763631485 You can't see it in the pictures, but it's simple and effective, a bit rugged. I have a picture, but can't post it right now.

Aaron: Rhovanion, what about you?

Rhovanion: It looks very nice. I really don't carry any weapons, myself.

Turwaithel: I have a sword, but it's pretty basic.

Rhovanion: Apparently I didn't realize that.

Turwaithel: Well, if people would stop kidnapping me, I might get a chance to practice with it. It's back at the palace.

Alyse: Griffin, Are you any good at fighting with a sword? Lindsey seems to think I need some help.

Lindsey: You do!

Alyse: Whatever you say. But I started a few days ago. It was... interesting.

Me: Speaking of that, why aren't you practicing right now? I can't write any more until you get a lot better!

Alyse: Oh... um... yeah. *walks away rather quickly*

Lindsey: Oh brother. I better go make sure she doesn't go chop her own head off.

Aaron: Arionwyn needed some help with her fight tactics...her only method was surprise attacks.

Arionwyn: That's not true! It was just...my best method.

Aaron: *snort* You mean, the only method that worked.

Arionwyn: We didn't make much progress in our first training session, anyway. Who's fault was that?

Aaron: Yours. You weren't paying attention... you normally aren't.

Arionwyn: Hey!!

Lindsey: Sounds like someone I know.

Alyse: Hey! I paid attention... mostly.

Lindsey: *snorts* Yeah, if mostly means about ten percent of the time.

Alyse: I'll prove it! You were talking about...

Lindsey: See?

Alyse: No! Wait! I really do know this!

EDIT: Once upon a time, this post contained a conversation between two of my characters. But I changed my story around a bit and the conversation no longer works, so I had to get rid of it. But the characters lived happily ever after in a post down the page. The End.

Me: Hm, I've noticed Aaron looks kind of like Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy Advent Children, only with black hair, brown eyes, etc. I might post some modified pictures that I'm working on later.

Edit: Here are some sample pics! Note: I don't own this picture, I just got it from a screenshot of a youtube video. I know they're not very good, but it's better than nothing. :)

There's still a kind of floating aura of blond around the edges of his hair, but I couldn't get that off. They actually look better when they're small, then you can't tell he was supposed to have blond in the first place! lol

Aaron: That doesn't look much like me. In fact...
Me: Oh shut up. I did my best on them! *glower*

Yah, I don't know if it's the hair that does it, or the nose, or the fact that he never smiles (that I can see). Aaron has a pretty sad past. :( Which makes for a wonderful plot twist or two...lol

Oh cool, an awesome superfun topic that is really crazy where authors turn themselves loose! (whew). I would let my characters introduce themselves, but I don't think they are ready yet, need a little more development (ok, so I'm just not good with dialogue, but I'm working on it ;) ).

Azura is my main character. If you have read any of my other posts, you have probably figured out that she is a Snow Leopard, the Princess of Ilaria. Physically she is tall, slender, with indigo eyes and a pretty face, pale silver fur with black rosettes. Personality wise she is intelligent, headstrong, free spirited, generally friendly but can easily loose her temper. She isn't as carefree as she sounds, though.

Arctax (I think I need to work on his name) is the adopted son of a tiger and is a wanderer and a warrior (he isn't shiftless). Strong, dependable, smart, and acts tough but has a soft heart. Physically he is tall and lithe, with green gray eyes and slate gray fur. Something of a weapons expert.

Maybe later I will have them introduce themselves, and I can introduce others, like . . . ok you probably don't want to meet all ten or more of my general characters, but I will introduce some villains, and that ought to be interesting. :)

Ok, now I am letting four of my characters speak for themselves. I tried to convince them to introduce themselves, but after dealing with Arctax's claws one time, I decided to play safe and let them say what they want. By the way, Silvergold is a white wolf, and Jade is Arctax's tigress sister.

Azura - Where am I? This is really weird.

Arctax - There's lots of people in here.

Azura - Oh, you're here too?

Arctax - (rolls eyes) Kind of obvious, don't you think?

Azura - I'm glad for that. Makes me feel . . . safer.

(Arctax blushes)

Jade - Ok, I better save him from himself. Hi, I'm Jade, white tigress, daughter of a Legend, and Arctax's sister. As well as Azura's best friend.

Azura - Thanks :) .

Arctax - About the other people here . . .

Azura - I feel out of place. See any other felines?

Arctax - Just elves and humans. And more elves.

Silvergold - Here's an elf, there's an elf, everywhere's an elf elf.

Jade growls

Silvergold - Sorry. No offense.

Azura - Where did you come from?

Silvergold shrugs

Arctax - I still feel really out of place here.

Jade - You said that already.

Arctax - No I didn't.

Azura - I did.

Jade - Whatever.

I hope no one was bored reading this. It's kind of hard working with dialogue :) . I better get my felines (and canine) out of here before they do something we all might regret. :P

I came up with a couple more characters for a short story I'm working one (I'm actually posting this one on my blog, as much as I may regret it XD My first drafts are never very good)

Arias: Hey.

Justis: That's all you're going to say?

Arias: Well what do you want me to say?

Justis: Think of something. Just don't go and start lecturing anyone.

Arias: I don't lecture anyone.

Justis: Riiiiiiight. So if I asked you to help me kill the king, would you?

Arias: You know that isn't the right thing to do.

Justis: *to everyone else* See what I mean?

Hey! Now this is funny...
I have four children the youngest of whom is three.
His name is Ari Justus Alexander!
We thought it was really neat that your characters are Arias and Justis!
Now you just need to introduce an Alex, Alexander, or Alexandria.
(All my kids have two middle names.)

Haha, that's cool :D
I was mainly trying to come up with names on the spot, which never works very well for me. I like Arias, but I may change "Justis" eventually, because it seems rather cheesy when you read the story :P
I like your son's name, though :)

Cirwyn: Oh, honestly, isn't anyone around here going to introduce me?
Me: Oh, sorry, Your Majesty. You were just created a few days ago, so I didn't really have time to --
Cirwyn: That 'tis no excuse. Anyhow, I am Cirwyn, lady of... something. What do I rule, again, Author?
Me: I haven't figured out yet...
Cirwyn: So you're saying that I a COMMON PERSON?!
Me: Um, sort of...
*Cirwyn glares at Author, then stalks away*
Jayan: Horrible temper. Very dragon-ish.
Me: Where'd you come from?
Aláthea: We just showed up. Hey, what is that post up there... about me and Jayan...?
Me: Oh, um... well, that was before I decided on the storyline, so you can just ignore it.
Aláthea: *scrolls up and reads Elsa's previous post* Eew, Jayan, you were creepy.
Jayan: Let me see that. *reads post* You're right. How embarrassing. What was the big secret, anyway, Author?
Me: Um, let's not get into that right now.
Aláthea: Alright. So, where did Cirwyn go?
Me: Who knows. She's probably off flying about on her dragon.
Jayan: Azura, if you'd like to chat with a fellow feline, I can ask my gryphon to come over. She's out scouting at the moment, but she'll be back soon.
Me: She said feline, not gryphon, Jayan.
Jayan: Well, she's part feline. Half eagle, half lion, remember?
Me: O-k.
Aláthea: So, Author, what exactly is our story about? I mean, you've created us, but now what?
Me: Sub-created. And I'm not sure. I think you're going to be chased around a bit, then go kill some evil king or something.
Jayan: That sounds too much like that other book, let's see, what was it called?
Aláthea: Something odd. Something about a lack of air or something...
Me: Eragon?
Jayan: Ah, yes, that was it. Interesting story, I must say. Though it lacked God. Horrible thing to miss... *shakes head*.
Me: Well, you guys had better get back to camp while I figure out what to do with you. And I'm going to go do something about that odd post up there...
Jayan: Farewell!
Aláthea: Bye!

Azura - Hi Jayan and Cirwyn! Nice to see you both.
Jade - Jayan, did you mention a gryphon? I would like to meet her. Gryphons (or griffins, as we spell them) are said to be legendary creatures which are known to haunt the highest mountains of Ilaria. I thought they were just myths!
Silvergold - Well Jade, now you know. (aside) She's really into the legend stuff. How many other tigers know where the lairs of the Last Dragons lie?
Arctax - Yes, shall we go into the story of discovering a dragon? I seem to recall a certain feline getting thrown into a tree hundreds of meters away by the furious monster. *Cough cough*
Jade - Umm, yeah, I can remember that.
Niama - Give each other a break, will you? Lets not get into details, or there might not be any webpage left for anyone else.
Arctax - Spoilsport.
Azura - Anyway, back to the original subject; yes, I would feel better to meet another feline, or any other fur (or feather) bearing animal. Cirwyn, I know how you feel on being a common person. I was the princess of the greatest kingdom in the North, but then . . .
Me - Hush, you'll give it away!
Arctax - Where did you come from?
Me - *Glare*
Arctax - Oh, right. I wish you let us loose like last time, that was fun.
Me - I decided to be tough and keep an eye on you guys. And sheath those claws, Arctax, or your friend won't be the only one dying in your story.
Niama - *Sigh* I'd rather not be reminded, thank you.
Azura - Ok, lets change the subject. Again. Arctax, I don't think you have ever been so vocal in all of the time I've known you.
Arctax - Umm, yes. I don't know what's going on. I guess I just feel really good today.
Jade - There's a new one.
Me - Oh, sorry other authors. I forgot to introduce Niama. She is a couger mix who is Azura's handmaiden and like a second mother to her. Very good to have around when there is a cat fight.
Silvergold - What a lame sense of humor.
Azura - (leans on Arctax's shoulder) Ok, we need a better conversation direction.
Me - I think it's time everyone should go. If there is any camping space left, you better mark it.
Arctax - All taken care of.
Azura - I'm looking forward to meeting your Gryphon friend, Jayan!

OK, like before, I hope no one was bored by this. ;)

Justis: I'd like to meet your gryphon too, Jayan.

Arias: I could probably find other animals if anyone wants them.

Justis: You? Finding wild animals and bringing them back? Puh-lease. Where would you get them anyway?

Arias: I've seen a few... on my, uh, travels.

Justis: You've never even left the village!

Arias: And you know that.... how? Stalker. And you're a very bad stalker, at that. Otherwise you would know--

Me: Don't tell him. He's going to find out in a couple chapters.

Justis: I like how my life is measured in chapters....

Me: You know what I meant.

*flash of gold, windstorm and a huge griffin lands next to Jayan*

Jayan: This is my gryphon friend, Azura. I believe that in the language of Earthly humans she would be called Goldfeather.
Me: That basically means that I haven't yet decided if she'll have an English name or one from my language.
Jayan: Yes, I have learned to be patient with my Author. She can be very undecisive at times.
Me: Huh.
Jayan: Uh oh. Major problem; how is Goldfeather going to communicate with Azura?
Me: Um... let me see... *pulls out pen and scribbles illegibly* OK. I'm allowing gryphons to communicate freely via telepathy with other cats and humans. And me. This is just temporary.
Goldfeather: Thank you, O Great Writer.
Me: Hey, I like this new talking Goldfeather.
Goldfeather: Hello, Azura. I am Goldfeather.
Jayan: Normally, she can only communicate with me and my friends through telepathy. But, thanks to Elsa, she can now (temporarily) communicate with everybody else.
Goldfeather: Azura, what do you and your kin hunt in the Ilarian mountains? Have you any swift deer? Ah, they always make for a fun chase.
Aláthea: What's going on over here?
Jayan: I was just introducing Goldfeather to the others here. And 'Feather was bragging about her hunting skills. *Goldfeather preens some of the feathers on her foreleg*
Aláthea: Ah, very good. Should I call Faolath and the rest of the party over?
Me: Sure.
*Streak of silver-gray, cloud of red and dark blue stripe fly down the hill. Flames erupt, the ground shakes and the wind howls. Then, water falls from nowhere and douses the flames, creating a globe of smoke around the eight figures. The wind slows, the earth becomes still again and the smoke fades to reveal a crimson dragon, silver unicorn, golden gryphon and blue sea-sepent, ridden by four figures*
Me: Nice entry.
Aláthea: Thank you. We've been rehearsing for days --
Cirwyn: Since you've given us nothing else to do.
Jayan: *rolls eyes* Sorry about her.
Me: I really need to tone her down a bit...
Jayan, Aláthea & Daechk: PLEASE DO!
Me: OK, ok, I'll get right on it.
Aláthea: May we stay?
Me: Um, no. There's no way that I'm letting Cirwyn and Jayan be alone unsupervised. The arguing would be unbearable.
Jayan: Hey!

Arionwyn: Why?

Aaron: *embarrassed* No reason . . . *gets lost in memories*

Arionwyn: *rolls eyes* He's ridiculous.

Earis: Leave him alone. You think you know everything . . .

Arionwyn: Yeah, that's what Smoky says. *glares*

Aaron: Huh?

Arionwyn and Earis: Nothing.

Aaron: I'll believe that when the sky falls . . . you're up to something.

Me: Guys, don't pick on him.

Arionwyn: *ignoring Aaron* I agree. Nice entry, all. Cirwyn, what color is your dragon? Mine's black. BTW, I like your name.

Me: Ok, she's obviously not worried about giving away plot twists anymore, since no one is supposed to know she has a dragon yet . . . *sigh* But yes, Smokewing is her dragon, and he's black. We call him Smoky.

Arionwyn: Shall I call him in?

Earis: As long as you keep him under control. And Skysong has to come too.

Arionwyn: Fine. Smoky? Come on in.

Smoky: Finally! I've been waiting forever! Why does Sky have to come too?

Sky: Because I'm the only one who can keep you from roasting people when your temper gets out of hand.

Smoky: *blows a flame at her* Riiight. Arionwyn, will you tell her -

Arionwyn: Smoky, simmer down. You're just as big as she is.

Me: This is starting to sound like my siblings and me . . .

Arionwyn: Oh Duh, Cirwyn's riding the red dragon. Isn't she? *squints* That other Author did say she had a dragon.

Azura - Hello, Goldfeather, nice to meet you. Impressive entry, I must say. Ask Arctax about hunting, he is really into it.

Arctax - Really cool. Goldfeather, about the deer in Ilaria, we have possibly the fastest deer on the planet. I happen to be a skilled hunter, so if you want to talk technique, I'm right here.

Azura - So modest, too.

Silvergold - I'll talk hunting! Hunting's a good thing. I could name some times when my pack went elk hunting . . . . did anyone know about the Ilarian flying elk?

Azura - I'm not even sure if the author decided they exist yet.

Niama - Wonderful. The Author needs to get back to work.

Jade - It is wonderful to meet all of you, everyone. Especially Smokey and Sky. I have several dragon friends where I come from, primarily ice dragons. However, our author hasn't decided whether or not to let them in.

Me - *rolls eyes* Oh my, so sorry. It doesn't help that I am still getting the hang of this.

Arctax - Yeah, sure. *cough cough*

Azura - I am starting to enjoy myself on here.

Silvergold - What, messing with our author or meeting new people.

*Azura rolls her eyes*

Jade - I only wish we were as impressive as the dragon owners.

Me - Fine, I get the hint! I'll work on a dragon for you guys, ok? Are we good now?

Jade - Will it be in the book?

Me - Let me think about that. Arctax is still recovering from his last dragon encounter.

Arctax - Oh yes. That was painful. Remind me to keep a distance, ok?

Jade - Puh-lease. Admit it, you loved it when Azura had to take care of you after that encounter.

Silvergold - I couldn't handle a dragon on here. Oh look, Azura and Arctax are blushing! Cool! It must have been something you said, Jade.

Azura - About toning Cirwyn down . . . Can we do the same to Silvergold?

Silvergold - (sarcastically) Har Har. Funny.

Jade - But anyway, I guess it's back to work *sigh* See you later, everyone. Nice to meet you, Smoky and Sky! I am looking forward to talking to you both again.

Goldfeather: Eck cleck chirp ckk clck ptck qickt!
Me: Oh, sorry, I'll turn on your communication again. *scribbles a bit*
Goldfeather: Thank you. Arctax, perhaps we could meet sometime and hunt these flying elk! They sound like they would make a fascinating chase.
Me: Um, Goldfeather, I don't think that's going to work. You and Arctax live in different fantasy worlds.
Goldfeather: Ah, that could pose a problem. Is there any way for you to incorperate the Cat into our story?
Me: Um... I don't think --
Daechk: What is our story, anyway?
Me: I'm still working on it...
Aláthea: Author, I hate to be rude, but I am, too, getting quite bored just sitting about with nothing to do.
Me: I know, and I'm working on it! Here, I'll write you a short passage so you have something to do *types a bit*. There, now go off and get rid of those minotaurs in T'Vanith.
Daechk: Ai! We must go defend my home!
Jayan: I didn't know that we had minotaurs...
Me: We don't. Just go kill them. Daechk, Aláthea and Jayan, you guys go take care of the minotaurs and leave your creatures here. They'd probably like to chat with the other animals. Where's Cirwyn?
Cirwyn: Here.
Me: You can stay. I seems like a bunch of people want to talk to you.
*Jayan sighs, Daechk stifles a chuckle and Aláthea shakes her head, smiling.*
Me: Quit it, guys! I toned her down. Be nice. Now get lost or I'll...
*The three scurry south on horseback*
Goldfeather: So, Arctax, what is your technique for hunting? I typically soar above the plains and then stoop on my prey. It is very rare that I find a deer that cannot be caught by that method. I would very much like to be challenged in my hunting...
Sangua: The way you act, I'm your prey. You're lucky that I don't cook your flesh with my flames.
Goldfeather: Feathers and fur, if you please. And I pray that you keep your fire to yourself, Mistress Dragon, or I shall blow you far from my sight.
*Sangua blows a puff of smoke*
Faolath: Oh, stop it, both of you, or I will shake the earth and send you both into an abyss to quarrel until the World's End.

Me: That's their way of saying "we are powerful, don't mess with us". Hey, why isn't, um, "sea serpent" saying anything?
Cirwyn: You haven't named him yet, so he's too embarrassed to speak.
Me: Ah, I see. Well, let's just call him Cerulat for now.
Cerulat: *pants* Thank you! Oh, Sangua and Goldfeather, after Faolath shakes you into the earth, I will pour frigid water over you to silence your conflicts.
Me: Wow, you beasts are violent. I should get a couple around the house to mediate arguments between my sisters...
Faolath: Good luck keeping your house intact. *snorts*
Cirwyn: Elsa, you really should explain each of the, um, beasts to our listeners. How are they to know what they are?
Me: Good point, Cirwyn, and very well spoken. Faolath, you first, then Goldfeather, Sangua and Cerulat.
Faolath: *whinnies* I am Faolath and I am what you might call a unicorn. I am rather large, I have a silvery-gray coat and a black mane and tail. My horn is black but sometimes appears dark green or blue. I have long hair above my hooves called feathers and my mane and tail are both long. My eyes are dark green.
Goldfeather: I am Goldfeather, a gryphon. I have the hindquarters and tail of a lion and the forelegs, wings and head of a great eagle. My lion parts are tawny gold and my feathers are a golden brown. The tip of my tail is a fan of feathers to assist me in my flight and I also have small ears, much like that of a horse. I have amber eyes and can see well from afar and in the dark.
Sangua: I am Sangua the dragon. I am much like the dragons in that story... what was it about? Someone suffocating...

Me: Eragon.
Sangua: Ah, yes, that was it. Anyway, I look much like those dragons (but far more beautiful. I have a glistening crimson hide and maroon eyes. I can breathe fire and am a superb flier...
Me: Next.
Cerulat: I am Cerulat, at least, that's the the Author is calling me for now, and I am a sea-dragon. I have a long, lizard-like body, a long, thick tail with a triangular stinger at the tip and webbed feet. My four legs are thick and strong, I have a long neck and my head is much like that of a dragon's. I have deep blue eyes and my scales are dark blue. I am a great swimmer and can live on both land and water, though I am most at home in the sea.
Me: Thanks, all. And they forgot to tell you; they each represent one of the elements. Gryphons are for air, Dragons, fire, Unicorns, earth and Sea-serpents, water. They and their riders have the ability to manipulate the element they represent. For instance, Jayan and Goldfeather can manipulate air.
Cirwyn: Author, we really must go. The others will be coming back soon and they will be hungry and tired. I should go prepare camp.
Me: Whoa, maybe I softened you up too much. I didn't know that you were actually capable of being kind...
Sangua: Tell me about it...

~•†•~
Me: Sorry about the long conversation; our talks tend to get long. I never knew that characters could talk so much!
