Mordir: He only gets talktive when he scolds people. [Is thwacked] Hey!

Tae: Did he just hit him?

Me: Probably. I don't blame him.

Tae: [Eyes widen] Ooh, how do you get it breathe its element?

Zinaan: Ooh, lookie Ivy! Papa mentioned those people too!

Ivy: How do you know? You don't know what they look like.

Mordir: [Grumbles] Is this their way of asking for more description in letters?

Iluna: [Laughs] Probably.

Zinaan: No, I'm serious! It's them! Look, that's.... uh... Emuna? She's the one with a pretty magic.

Ivy: Papa would be cool with Magic.

Mordir:

Chayn: [Laughs] Your Papa is fine just as he is.

Mordir: ....

Chayn: I mean, as fine as a man of his status can be, I suppose.

Me: Smooth, Chayn, smooth.

Emuna: Magic? Is she suggesting I am a sorcerer?...

Brian: No... I think she spoke of the luze, Emuna.

Gavin: She bores me. * walks over to Terminus * * pokes *

Terminus: * growls * * thwacks Gavin's hand * Leave me be.

Gavin: Nah, I think I'll stay here. You're less boring.

Roel: Greetings, new comers. I can not recall if I had any former grudges against any of you, but Gavin, please do not poke the villain, or I will cut off your hand.

Me: You will? o.o

Roel: If I have nothing better to do. He needs to learn his lesson. *nods*

Me: Roel has suddenly gotten more violent... this is weird. o.o

Roel: Kai would give the same excuse, Mordir, but that doesn't make me like him, and it doesn't make me like you either.

Arilledrae: *is temporarily tacken aback by Terminus's glare, but quickly masks it and smiles sweetly anyway* *curtsies back at Emuna and Brian, the wind swirling around her gracefully* (@Tae) They already know how, to some degree. You just have to help them learn how to use it to a greater degree and teach them to do it only when you want it.
Me: *is making this up as she goes*

And...now for a new character. Not sure how this will work, since they don't know each other at this point...

The room suddenly becomes extremely hot. A fire shoot up near Arilledrae and blazes brightly before gradually subsiding. In its place stands a slightly short young man with dark brown hair and blazing orange eyes

Jirran: *glances about, his eyes coming to rest on Arilledrae*
Arilledrae: *startled* *jumps back, her hand resting on one of her hidden daggers* What do you want here?

Terminus: Why would you cut off his head, Roel? I can do that myself. * begins to make swo- * gets thwacked * Ow!

Me: No fighting! Rotten villain! * takes all powers from Terminus for the sake of keeping fighting out of posts *

Terminus: * grumbles *

Gavin: * grins * * pokes Termy's arm again * * sings * Termy the termite; he'll it your rotten wood! Termy the termite; isn't as nice as he should be.

Terminus: Your singing has permanently damaged my hearing.

Gavin: * glares *

Emuna: * giggles *

Gavin: Hey! It wasn't that bad!

Brian: Oh...but it was.

Gavin: * pouts *

Roel: Hand, not head. To be helpful, of course! It is my duty as a loyal soldier of Gerlach to help whoever I can.

Me: Except your own country and anyone that annoys you or below you.

Roel: 'Cept them, yes.

Roel: *finds some hearing protection* That boy needs singing lessons...

Me: * chuckles * "GAVIN! Bethie, we've missed you!!!"

Jay: "Some of us have, anyway."

Lars: * goes over to Zinaan and Ivy * "Hello."

Me: (to Aris) "Hmmm... Maybe one of us could start with a sentence and see where it goes from there."

Terminus: Aye, but head is way more fun to cut off. Hands just harm people- * gets thwacked *

Me: No violent talk either...

Terminus: * groans * Annoying author.

Emuna: How come Gavin gets a shout out?

Gavin: Because I'm not annoying.

Brian: I'm not annoying either...

Gavin: That...is up for discussion.

Terminus: From my point of view, you all should be dead. So nobody deserves a supposed "shout out"

Zinaan: [Stares]

Mordir: Don't stare, son. She said hello.

Zinaan: [Smiles shyly] Hi. You're pretty.

Mordir: [Glares at Roel] I'm not asking you to, so we don't need to make a fuss, now do we?

Me: You're gonna get yourself in trouble.

Tae: That's cool. Does everyone have a Draegyn, or just a select few?

Aelynn: Hello Jirran.

Me: [To Shawn] Sounds good. Do we start in the Village Common?

Chayn: [Smiles at Shawn and settles down]

Me: I missed Gavin. And Brian and Emuna.

Chayn: [Pokes Terminus with her tail] For some reason, I missed him.

Mordir: Yeah, because you ate him.

Tae: She ate him?!

Me: Brilliant, Mordir.

Arilledrae: (@Tae) Everyone that is of age has their own draegyn. The amount they actually interact with their draegyn varies according to the strength of the bond made, the person's line of work, and whether or not we are at war.

Jirran: (@Aelynn) *bows deeply* Greetings, beautiful lady.
Arilledrae: He-he isn't to be trusted.
Jirran: *smoothly* You still cling to the prejudices of our fathers, still hold onto our old enmity and hatred birthed in the wars? Don't you think it's time to put aside those differences?
Arilledrae: *wind swirling uncertainly* There has always been distrust between my people and yours. It is not something to lay aside lightly...

Emuna: * pinks * Thank you, Zinaan.

Brian: Uh...yeah. And we must apologize for our friend's-

Brian: Acquaintance's * glances at Gavin * behaviour. He's not exactly polite or * cough * friendly.

Gavin: Excuse me?!

Avneet: Just let it go, little one.

Gavin: Hgrmph. * pouts *

Terminus: * glares at Chayn * Funny. I have no feeling of emptiness because of your absence. Nor a sense of joy due to your return. If I had lived a thousand years, and yet never seen you again, you would have never crossed my mind.

Me: Terminus! Now that's not very nice! Take that back this instant!

Terminus: Are you suggesting that I lie to this creature by telling her the feeling is mutual?

Me: Uhh...just forget it.

Jay: "Terminus? Lie? No, really?"

Me: * glares *

Jay: "I'm not fond of kidnappers."

Me: "Right." * grins *

Jay: * ignores the heat on his cheeks *

Me: "Riiight. Chayn ate him."

Shawn: * sits down and leans into Chayn *

Me: (to Aris) "Sure. Do you want to start, or should I?"

Tae: Oh. So if you were at war, then a draegyna nd its rider would be closer than if you were at peace?

Aelynn: [Smiles and curtsies] You flatter me, sir.

Seymour: [Grips staff]

Me: Deep, slow breaths, Sey.

Chayn: [Laughs as she curls her tail around Shawn, tickling her with its furred end] I do not expect you to miss me. I would have found it quite surprising if anything I ate missed me.

Mordir: Missed you personally, or missed your mouth? [Is hit by a dictionary] I was kidding!

Me: Oh, but you weren't.

Chayn: [Snorts] You two are so odd.

Me: And you're confusing.

Chayn: Get used to it.

Mordir: You just got sassed by a dragon.

Me: I noticed. [To Shawn] I can try. What world does Shawn live in? Or does she live on earth?

Terminus: I would be rather concerned if I missed anyone.

Emuna: * mumbles * Of course, it would mean you're capable of feeling remorse, sadness, guilt or all of the above...

Terminus: * glares at Emuna *

Avneet: * growls low *

Terminus: Dragons...

Avneet: Villains...

Arilledrae: (@Tae) Yes. Draegyns are more often than not ridden in battle. Elemental battles tend to take place in the air, though sometimes the other elementals try to fight on land or water, since we sylphs have more of an advantage in the air.

Jirran: (@Aelynn) It is not flattery, but truth, my lady.

Chayn: Oh, surely you would miss someone? Theremust be someone or something that you would miss.

Me: You do remember what being this friendly to villains got you last time, right?

Chayn: This is entirely different. I am not engaging in any fighting like last time.

Me: Uh-huh.

Tae: Cool. Draegyns sound like fun. How are they different from dragons?

Terminus: * grits teeth * No. I care for no one.

Brian: I think that's been proven.

Terminus: Hush up, boy!

Brian: * raises hands defensively * Hey! I was just agreeing with you!

Terminus: * glares *

Me: (@ Aris) "She lives on earth, yes."

Shawn: * giggles and sputters from the tickling *

Jay: "I'm with Brian."

Lars: (@ Terminus) "Not even for people who ate you?"

Me: Cool. I think I has an idea. ^^ [Scurries off]

Chayn: What lonely life you must lead, then. [Tickles Shawn's nose]

Mordir: What are you doing?

Chayn: I'm playing.

Me: Where'd your kids go?

Iluna: [Face pales]

Mordir: [Sighs] I'll go look for them. Iluna, stay calm, that couldn't have gone far.

Chayn: [Nudges Terminus's shoulder] I'll bet you're just a big softy at heart.

Me: I'd rather not have you die again, if that's alright.

Chayn: That's fine.

Me: Okie dokies, Shawnee, I has posted in the Common.

Terminus: To be lonely means there is no one that can hurt you, for if you love someone they can then be used against you. * glares * Do not accuse me of being compassionate.

Brian: You know, to most people, being accused as being a "big softy" would actually be a compliment.

Terminus: Most people are weak.

Avneet: You're always such a ray of sunshine, Termy...

Terminus:

Roel: *grins at Termy being whacked* But see, if you cut off their head, you can only do it once. Whereas if you cut off their hand, you can do it at least twice. And then there's feet too.

Me: *considers banning violent talk for Roel too*

Roel: Who got to eat Termy and when?

Terminus: Ah, true, but that is far more effective as a method of torture rather than punishment. Death is better punishment.

Emuna:

Avneet: * whacks Terminus with her tail * You're scaring the poor girl!

Terminus: * smirks *

Shawn: * sputters and laughs *

Jay:

Me: "Ooh! Thread!" * goes off to check *

Lars: "What about us?"

Me: "I'll be back! Be good, or Chayn will tickle you at least."

Lars:

Chayn: You're getting rather defensive. Maybe you are compassionate, but you refuse to let it be known?

Me: You're gonna make him angry.

Seymour: I'm beginning to think that's her life purpose.

Chayn: [Looks at Lars, waving her tail, but not very intimidatingly]

Me: She is so weird sometime, I tell you.

Chayn: [To Roel] I attempted to eat Terminus way back in the Character Introductions thread, because he was threatening Emuna, or something like that. He was doing a villainous deed, and so I ate him. But villains don't digest well, and I spit him back out.

Me: Who's up next for story-time?

Aelynn: [Blushes] You are too kind, sir. You would be very popular among the ladies in Allare.

Me: Of course he would. Everyone enjoys attention.

Aelynn: I wasn't talking to you.

Me: Good grief you're all acting like Mordir.

Mordir: Hey!

Terminus: Defensive? * laughs * You have not seen me defend myself yet. * hands glow slightly *

Me: * thwacks Termy *

Terminus: * pauses * * groans * * hands stop glowing * Annoying author.

Me: I don't make the rules!

Terminus: No, but you enforce them.

Me:

Avneet: I am not all that fond of stories about eating Terminus...however villainous he may be.

Arilledrae: (@Tae) There isn't much difference, really. Except I don't know if any dragons breathe just wind. Or earth, for that matter. Water draegyns are more comforable swimming than a dragon would be. Earth draegyns can burrow.... *glances at Chayn* And draegyns don't eat people. *chuckles a little*

Jirran: (@Aelynn) One can never be too kind. Popular? How so?
Arilledrae: *watches, lips pressed tightly together*

Jay: "Huh." * studies Jirran quietly, her brown eyes wary *

Shawn: * smiles *

Chayn: True. I'm sure that would be a sight to behold. A villain having to defend himself, usually when they are on defense, they are being beaten.

Me: [Slams head against tree]

Aelynn: [Smiles] All girls enjoy getting compliments. And you seem to be a polite gentleman, something many young ladies in Allare look for.

Seymour: [To me] You're making this up as you go, aren't you?

Me: Completely. But it's true.

Tae: I see. I don't think Allare dragons can manipulate wind. Some can breathe electricity.Do you have to match a draegyn's abilities to what its rider can manipulate?

Chayn: [Glances at Arilledrae and Avneet] Don't worry, I won't be doing it again.

Terminus: It entirely depends on what you consider to be defense.

Me: Wait... I thought you would, like, totally loose your mind at that...

Terminus: * ignores me * Most people will taunt anger saying that it is defense. Then if they are right, villains are always defensive, especially those who are angry. So then, a villain that is the torturer not the tortured could be just as supposedly "defensive" as those being tormented. From that perspective...everybody is defensive because of everybody else's defense.

Brian: * blinks * * looks at me * Did you just come up with that?

Me: Yep... But it's not my deep pondering... It's Termy's...so if it's all wrong, you can't blame me.

Arilledrae: (@Tae) Electricity? What is that? Yes, you do have to match the abilities. They say that no elemental can ride a draegyn that does not have the same ability. I do not know if any have even tried. Besides, we would not want to have a dragon that could kill us with their next breath.

Jirran: (@Aelynn) Common courtesy is not so common in Allare? I am extremely surprised, if all the young ladies are as beautiful and gentle as you.

Jay: (mutters) "I don't think I like Jirran..."

Shawn: "Why not? He compliments people?"

Jay: ...

Lars: * grins * "Just because-"

Me: "Stay out of it, please."

Chayn: [Looks at Terminus] I'm... not sure what you mean. But I'm sure it makes sense.

Tae: Oh, electricity... it's like lightning. It flashes in the sky after thunder makes noise.

Aelynn: Oh, it is. It is one of the key traits we look for in a gentleman. [Blushes] I'm sure there are other ladies far prettier than me, but thank you for the compliment.

Seymour: [Knuckles go white gripping his staff] I almost agree with you, Jay...

Me: Oh, loosen up. No harm's being done. Put the weapon away. Even better. [Takes staff] Just in case.

Seymour: Hey!

Me: Hey nothing. You're dangerous with this.

Terminus: * scoffs * Typical dragon. Cannot even comprehend the simple concept I waste my breath to explain to her.

Avneet: * rests her head on the ground, near Terminus * From my point of view, the more breath you waste, the better. It would do us all some good if you ran out of breath.

Terminus: * glares * Would it?

Avneet: Oh, yes, it would. Really.

Terminus: Then you do not understand what would do you good and what would do you harm. I am the only reason she is still breathing. * points to Emuna *

Brian: You tried to kill her!

Terminus: Silence! * voice echoes *

Avneet: * nudges Terminus with her head, causing him to fall * I wouldn't suggest you raise your voice at Brian.

Terminus: * glares at Avneet * * looks at me *

Me: * shakes head *

Terminus: Stupid people. * sits down and crosses arms *

Avneet: * rests head again * That's very mature.

Arilledrae: (@Tae) Oh! Lighting! *smiles* What are your dragons like? They speak, unlike ours. How does that change your relationship?

Jirran: (@Aelynn) More beautiful? That I cannot imagine. All the women I have ever seen are far inferior to you, lady.

Jay: "Okay, I don't like him."

Shawn: * glares furiously at Terminus * "I agree with Avneet!"

Lars: ...

Me: "Thank you, Lars."

And here I thought the violence level in here had toned down.

Chayn: [Whips head around, lip curled in a snarl] Do not insult me, Terminus. I was in friendly teasing.

Me: She's scary when she directly address him.

Tae: Dragons in Allare can breathe different things. Like Chayn. She can breathe poison. Others can breathe, fire, water, and then the electricity, or lightning. The relationship probably becomes closer. For example, a dragon and its Keeper. It's almost like two human people who are best friends, maybe.

Me: Rough translation, I guess. Good question, though.

Aelynn: [Blushes deeply] Thank you, again. What is your world like?

Me: [Airianna] Nah, it's more like friendlty banter.

Mordir: Friendly banter? What kind of rock have you been living under, girl? Terminus almost had a dragon on top of him-

Me: I was being sarcastic, something you have mastered and should recognize.

Terminus: * laughs * If I insult you what happens? You cannot attack me here. I am safe. * sits down on chair comfortably and leans back * Stupid dragon.

Me: * head/desk * Why? Why must I have the villain that lacks in common sense?

Avneet: * raises head * Terminus almost had a dragon atop him? If you refer to me, Sir, I assure you I wouldn't have attacked him. It was a mere defense of my master. Nothing more. * yawns * Taninim dragons are not easily angered.

Gavin: Unlike my dragon...

Avneet: * growls * Yes... Taranis is a fire breathing dragon...with a temper far more dangerous than fire.

Mordir: No, noble dragon, I was referring to Chayn.

Chayn: [Snarls, back spikes rising slightly. Rises slowly]

Seymour: Calm yourself dragon.

Chayn: [Growls and leaps toward Terminus, bringing one foot dangerously close to his foot, and shoves her head up close to his] Do not tempt me, little one. It is not wise to insult a dragon.

Seymour: Chayn, he isn't harming you.

Chayn: He may not be. But he is trying my patience.

Mordir: [Snorts] You have patience?

Me: Don't do that, you know it's only gonna make it worse. She'll take it out on Terminus.

Mordir: You're feeling sympathetic?

Me: Maybe I am.

Avneet: * chuckles * Very well then. You may disregard me.

Terminus: * smirks * You've eaten me once before and we all know how that turned out. Are you going to try again, you silly, little creature?

Me: Oh, Terminus, pride is the fool's greatest weakness.

Brian: What?

Me: I dunno.

Arilledrae: (@Tae) If they are not speechless animals, how do they let you ride them?

Jirran: (@Aelynn) It is big. But I have only seen the island on which I live. It is a monotonous place to live, with too many mountains and rivers and forests. It is bound by traditions and old enmities that no one cares to change. One race is constantly against another and you can see the marks of their battles on the landscape. Life continues as it did hundreds of years ago, and few try to make progress. I would like to see the rest of my world, but no one ever leaves Rotael. Another ridiculous tradition.

Chayn: I am very much tempted to. And I would, if it were permitted.

Aelynn: The scenery sounds beautiful. Are you bound by your tradition to never leave your island? Or is it, say, a suggested rule?

Tae: I... don't know. I guess they just let us ride. It's best to ask first, if its a dragon you've just met, or don't know well. But for a dragon and its Keeper, I think they just enjoy flying so much, the dragon lets its Keeper get on.

Mordir: You're not doing anything to stop Chayn, are you?

Me: Not at the moment, if she starts getting violent, then I might.

Mordir and Seymour: Might?

Terminus: * grins * So then... I could taunt you till world's end and you have no power to attack me? Oh, this thread is fun...

Me: * thwacks Termy *

Terminus: * is thwacked * ...I deserved that.

Shawn: * jumps up, graceful and quick in her fury * "Terminus, if you don't stop it, Chayn will take you into another thread and deal with you there!" * shakes her head, her long blond hair following the movement *

Shawn: * tears almost breaking in her voice * "So stop it right now, Terminus! Please..."

Me: "They are close."

Terminus: * grins * Oh, Shawn! I remember kidnapping you... You're weak. I don't fear you...or your dragon for that matter.

Brian: Terminus, really... You can stop now. Chayn was just having a conversation with you.

Terminus: * glares at Brian *

Avneet: Well, he may not look happy... But at least, for the time, he stopped talking.

Gavin: Aw, I was rather enjoying his taunt- * gets hit with Avneet's tail * Hey!

Shawn: "I-"

Me: "No, you may not kick him."

Jay: * looks at Terminus * "Drop the conversation, now, or we can take this outside."

Me: "O-kaaay..."

Jirran: (@Aelynn) It is not a rule. Yet no one leaves. Some left hundreds of years ago in the early years of our settlement of Rotael. They never came back. So the other stay because they do not know anything about the rest of the world, and consider it dangerous. The people are bound by their fear of the unknown. *scoffs*

Arilledrae: I see. I have heard tales of the centaurs and the manticores on the other continents in my world. None dare ride them, not even their friends. It is considered a disservice. But I see it is not the same. *smiles* Flying is wonderful, is it not? I cannot say if I prefer to fly on my draegyn or in the wind, but it is delightful.

Aelynn: But you remain also? If fear holds your people back, surely one as brave as you can sooth it?

Me: ... What is she doing?

Seymour: I don't know, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm feeling.

Me: And that's why you can't have your staff.

Tae: I've never been flying before. Aris says I will, but it must be nice.

Mordir: Iluna, why don't you take the children out to pay somewhere?

Zinaan: But I wanna see Chayn eat Termy!

Mordir: Absolutely not. Call him by his full name, son.

Zinaan: Why?

Iluna: Don't question your father. I'm sure it's an inside joke among the other characters. Come now, your father will tell you all about it later.

Chayn: [Roars, outraged] That's it! I challenge you to a duel. If for the sole purpose of venting my anger.

Me: [Aside to Terminus] Feel free to refuse. I'm not even sure what got her riled in the first place.

Mordir: Dragons get mad over the craziest things. First she said she missed him, now she's about ready to eat him again.

Me: It is odd.... Development!!!

Terminus: You would duel me? Terminus? General of all the armies under Pavix? Wielder of the strongest, darkest force in Chevl'Set? Hah! You would not stand a chance, despite your size or species.

Me: Termy...

Avneet: * perks up * Well, that should be interesting...

Emuna:

Avneet: Oh... Chayn, you're scaring the girl. Would you mind go obliterating her father somewhere else?
