Ahoy everyone!

At this point, you may be wondering: "What on earth does that title mean?!?!" Chances are you also looked up those words on google and could not discover what they meant. There is a reason for this: they no longer exist in the dictionary. These have been real words, but because their use became non-existent, they were taken out of the dictionary. The subject means this: Where figurative expressions, the second time places are burned down, and grave speeches are enclosed.

Where did I find these words, you may ask? Right here: http://savethewords.org/ This website has tons of words that have been taken out of the dictionary. You can adopt a word and use it as often as you can to help bring it back into the dictionary.

In this thread, I have two challenges for you:
1. Adopt a word (officially on the website, or unofficially here). Let us know what word you've adopted! If you choose to adopt a word, just here, or on the other website as well, I'd like to add a challenge to it: use that word at least once in one of your stories.

2. Choose a word on the website and write a short story from it or that uses it. Choosing a word and writing a story with it is not adopting a word. ;) If you decide to write the story, please post it here for the rest of us to read. :D

I hope you enjoy these challenges!

I officially adopted "starrify." Means "to decorate with stars." However, "cattify" does not mean "to decorate with cats." Bummer.

O.O What does zenzineczinzen- oh, forget it. What does it mean?

Ooh! I call pigritude, which means "laziness" :) I also call veteratorian, or "subtle" :D And I like succisive, meaning "of spare or extra time" :D

*will be frequently visiting this site :D*

Why do I feel like I'm playing balderdash?

I suppose I unofficially adopted "tussicate", or "to cough".

What? That's not a word anymore? Oh the horror! All these years... *sob* (It's used in Portuguese, hence my over-melodramatic reaction ;))

I am unofficially adopting the word squiriferous: having the characters or qualities of a gentleman.

This is a really cool idea! I'm going to have to look some long, forgotten words up. :D
