Alright! There were a lot of threads about this, but Jay and I have just made some fairly major changes, and we're hoping the problems are cleared up now.

But none of our previous solutions have solved it, so if you are still experiencing problems after the time I started this thread, post below to let us know.

I just tried logging in in a normal window, and it didn't work. It now works, but I'm in an incognito window. :?

I have resolved BushMaid's issue. If anyone else has similar issues, please try to login twice.

Double-Login:

Often when I follow a link from a notification email, I enter my login info and press login. The computer thinks for a second, accepts it, then returns me to the same empty login screen. The second time I login it then proceeds to send me to the link the email gave me. Any idea whats up?

Yes. Watch the url when you do this, and see if the www part changes through it. And then use the one that logs you in all the way after that. We are working on fixing this problem.

My login was playing up again today, it would accept my password but then whenever I pressed Active Topics it logged me back out again.

It's usually fine when I just refresh a page now, but it still doesn't keep me logged in when I ask it to and just now I had to log in five times consecutively.

What is the exact url you are using to log in with, and does it change during the sequence of logins?

Um, what? It just sends me to the login page when I refresh after I've let the computer sleep. I haven't noticed the urls...

It logged me out about 4 times this morning, Jay. This was the URL that was there after it bumped me off http://www.holyworlds.org/fantasy/search.php?search_id=active_topics

Hmm, it isn't fixed for me. It has been really bad today; it took at least 5-6 tries when I first logged in this afternoon and it was just playing up again just now.

Thanks, Jay. It seems a little better, but still takes two or three times to log in for me.

After I cleared my cache etc etc it played up a bit, and then I had a little while where I thought 'oh it's fixed;' then it started logging me out once then logging me in, and today it's been about 2 or 3 times before I can log in.

Finally getting over here... it takes me 2-3 tries to login too, but since I stay logged in all the time that doesn't bug me. However, yesterday I tried to log into the ACP and it logged me out. I logged back in and it logged me out. I opened a fresh login window and logged in and was fine, but when I tried to log in to the ACP it logged me out again. The third time I managed to stay logged in and did access the ACP but I thought it was worth coming over here to mention. (For a few panicky moments I thought I had lost my admin privileges, until I saw that I was completely logged out.)

It does that one to me too, Katie. I'm still not sure what that is... I think it's a bug with phpbb.

I have the same issues when logging into the ACP, but I'm unaffected in normal usage, mostly.

Is there a way we can file a bug with the phpBB team, Jay?

I think it's probably already filed, but I haven't been able to get around to checking out their forums yet. If someone on the HWdev team could do some digging on there for me, I'd appreciate it.

Hi again. :D Right, this time it took me no less than twelve attempts to log in. The latter half even claimed I had logged in but whether I clicked to move on or not it sent me right back to the log in screen. Bye for now.

Very bad. :P

I would say make sure you cleared the cookies on both the site and your browser, but I'm sure you all already did that. :P

Yep, funny it took me a lot of times to log in last night as well, much more than usual.

Okay, so I had a huge post all written up and HW erased it. The essence of the post is this: I don't know what's causing it, but it only lets me (as far as I can tell ) open one logged-in HW tab at once. :P The chat's also been big time acting up, I don't know whether that's a login problem or no...

I am able to log in via Ff private browsing or internet explorer, but not with regular Ff. I can only get logged in on those avenues by clicking login and then clicking a link on the "successfully logged in" page. If I don't click a link on that page it takes me to the index where I am NOT logged in.

Strangely, when I tried logging in last time using regular Ff it didn't work but when I went to the index page and scrolled down it showed me in the "online" list at the bottom. :/

The books or the music in which we thought the beauty was located will betray us if we trust to them; it was not in them, it only came through them, and what came through them was longing. These things—the beauty, the memory of our own past—are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshippers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited.

All the things that have deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it—tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear... We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want . . . which we shall still desire on our deathbeds . . . ~C.S. Lewis

A couple days ago, I logged in, clicked [1 new message], and it logged me out, saying, "You have to be logged in to view this" (or some variant :P ).

I repeated this two or three times until I clicked Forum Index, then went to my new message from there. It wasn't fatal ( ), but it was annoying.

I'm not having any issues, at the present moment. But I was.

Ok, today its been really bad, and I just wrote all this out and lost it all because it logged me out so I'll make it quick this time. It seems to be 10 times worse and is logging me out everytime I try and post something and it's spread and is happening on HWHF HWSF and HWFF for me now.

Out of interest is this happening to anyone else? It's still logging out whenever I try to post something. I have to copy and paste it, and it logs in and out a few times before it will post. I also can't use the chat room because whenever I try to chat it logs me out and none of my chats go through. :P I have tried clearing my cache etc etc.

I also keep getting this, is it related?

The site uses CloudFlare in order to help keep it online when the server is down by serving cached copies of pages where they are available. Unfortunately, a cached copy of the page you requested is not available, but you may be able to reach other cached pages on the site.

It kicked me off once today while I was trying to post, which is the first time it's ever done that to me.
