In any case, hello. I am a Canadian, bilingual, Christian writer. I am fifteen years old as of the end of May, I play piano and clarinet and soccer, and I go to public school. I've noticed that there are a lot of homeschoolers on here (How? see the bottom of the post.) and I have nothing against that, but since I seem to be a minority, I thought I'd point that out. I'm only bilingual because I went to French Immersion. Neither of my parents speak French well enough to teach me that.
I also tend to go off topic quickly. It's worse when I'm speaking out loud, trust me.
I recently spent a month in France on an exchange, which was fun. In fact, I got back late Saturday night. I'm not a very outgoing person, so parts of that were kind of hard. Good thing I can communicate, because else I would have spent the entire time in my room reading the Silmarillion. They all figured I was cheating by not reading it in French. Have you seen it? That would be horrid to read in French, especially when they started to translate names. I was upset when they translated the names in Harry Potter.
See? Off topic. Also, I'm rambling.
I spent a few months stalking this site while I waited for my parents to have time to look at it. I have four siblings, so we're busy, and both my parents work. I think I heard about this in April, actually...

No pets. Since we're always gone from the house all day, and we're away so much, they wouldn't be very well cared for. Besides that, we have enough wild animals in my house. I'm the oldest of four, and with an exchange student to boot...
How long have you played piano? I took my grade six examination this year. I didn't do so well, though. I was disappointed in myself, I failed at melody playback.

Vous parlez français?! C'est magnifique! I have taken three years of French, two Junior High and one High School, and I'm going into my fourth this year! I would love to create a thread in General Discussions where we only speak French. I could use it because I think it would help me speak the language better if I spoke it conversationally on a regular basis. I think that thread could have much potential for a lot of stuff... At this point, when I read French, I can usually understand about half of it. So, I would probably be using my French books and google translate some, but I would try to do it from memory as much as possible!

Sorry... I haven't met anyone on here so far who can speak French fluently...

Yes, I write fantasy. What else? I'm not at all good with science though, so while sci-fi is fun to read, I really can't write it. I might be able to pull off historical fiction.

Mais oui, je parle français. En France, c'était difficile quelques fois, mais c'est amusant. For all the rest of you, yes, I speak French, and in France I had trouble sometimes, but it's fun. I like the idea of a French thread. I've been taking school in French since I was four, so I'd love to help, and it would be great to have someone to speak with over the holidays. (Besides my exchange student. He's here to learn English.)

I'm definitely going to read it again, though. I had some trouble with it. I read fairly quickly, and it took me almost a month. Then again, I didn't have all the time in the world to read. I had to have a quiet space, with no distractions, and usually I can read anywhere. It was quite troublesome. But I finished it! I was proud of myself. I actually had lots of trouble with the original trilogy. I couldn't get into the story enough to finish it until last year. Those are lovely muffins, thank you. I didn't get dessert tonight. *pouts*

Besides the NaNo novella I did this year, that I have in proof copy in book form but isn't ready to be published yet, I have one story that I'm working on with a friend, and it's taking us a long time. I'll go into details about that some other time, as I'm listening to my sister, messaging my writing buddy, and I'm supposed to be watching the Fellowship with my brother. So I suppose, technically, one and a half. Almost. I only really started writing a couple years ago. Yes, it's taking us a while with this story.

We're having a blast writing together, even if we don't agree on everything. Besides that, her character is an elf and I know basically nothing about her elves, so I have trouble writing ahead because Erantera is troublesome.
It's true about the motivation. We're constantly emailing with 'what about this?' and the next day 'check your email!'.
Welcome, InHisLight. I'll go welcome you on your thread. France would be fun to see as a tourist, especially since I never got to see the south. According to my exchange family, swearing is very common in the south of France. Long story, I guess. France has lots of lovely churches.

I know what you mean! There are so many different ideas between two people! We are always emailing each other explaining new ideas!

I'm not too surprised that France swears a lot. Last I checked so did America.

I had one year of French foreign language at my school and I have decided that English suits me just fine. I know a little probably only enough to decipher less than a third of what you say. Do you have a language you use most? Did you learn them at the same time? Must have been confusing.
