I love the new graphics! (Not that I didn't like the previous one or anything.) It's really cool, especially all the quotes.

Thanks! If you find any more, let me know, and I will add them. I am focusing on quotes that have to do with quality fiction writing in some way.

Another important thing about this change: I want all of you to submit your blogs for inclusion on the Members Blogs section of the blog sidebar! Let me know the address and I will add it. Great views and promotion: that blog (if we update it more often) will drive lots of traffic I foretell.

It's absolutely magnificent!! Exquisite!! FABULOUS!

I love the quotes too. They're my favorite part.:)

Nice! I like the new homepage and graphic thingy, especially the sword. :D

One thing: the Holy Worlds graphic with the sword doesn't look good on the forum's blue background. The blues don't go together very well, which makes it hard to see the Holy Worlds graphic. I attached a screen shot to show what I mean.

What do you think, Sir Admin?

I know what you mean. I am thinking on it. What if I shifted the color so that it was gold? Would that fit the essence of the site?

Hey Jay,
The new site looks great, though I suggest if you change the forum logo to gold to change the site one as well, since I like consistency. :D If that's too hard to do, then that's fine, just a suggestion. (I got on this morning and the forum graphic was blue...got on now and it's gold...quick work!)

By the way, the alignment for the new post and new PM box seems to be off on the forum, it kind of extends past the border. Have you noticed this?

eruheran

P.S. How DID you get those cycling quotes...is it this JS? flowplayer-3.2.2.min.js (Sorry, as a guy trying to learn more web design...and as a fact that I've been trying to do scrolling quotes on a page for like WEEKS, I needed to ask. ;))

Eruheran,

Well I would have to redo the theme for all three parts of the site to make it consistent like that. The logo is designed to work with different colors, so this is fine. I did think of that though.

I don't see that. What browser are you using, so that I can check it out? Thanks for noticing and mentioning!

Yes, that is javascript. I used the jQuery Tools extension of the jQuery library to do that and the flowplayer (which is waiting for the movie). Here is a link to the documentation for the scrollable function I used. You can see my implementation of it in script.js (should be in the resources in the development tools with both chrome and firefox). Not everything in there is jQuery, since I used a bit of regular js to make it start on a random quote.

If you have any questions about that, or if you want help implementing it somewhere, feel free to drop me an email or a pm. :)

Wow! I love it! It fits right into the forum! Great work! :D :) ;)

I like the gold logo on the forum. Quick work! :D

I noticed that the index/room path bar thingy at the top and bottom of the threads has a larger font size. Was that intentional? To me, it looks a bit odd when compared with the smaller text for the logout button and number of unread messages. But that's just me.

Thanks!

Yes I did that on purpose to make it more prominent. I always had to look for it before. It is easy to change though if people don't like it.

The Promo Video is up!

I just watched it.

You work wonders, Jay.

I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 and Firefox 3.7a (Depending on the computer) in Windows 7, and both of them show it. I'll try to post a small screenshot...Wait, how do you attach an image again? (Not a URL?)

I'll send you a PM about the scrollable thing...when I have time which I'm not sure when that will happen. :D

Nope, actually. He was too busy, unfortunately. Which is why having redundancies in your connections is a good thing. :D The magician who did this one is Lucas Chasteen, and he will be joining the forum soon. :)

He will? Lucas has a fantasy story?!

Hey, do you want music for the next video? (I'm assuming you'll want more.)

You mean original score? Do you write epic music? * takes note in his connections archive *
