I have recently made a new race, but I am still making changes to them as I think of them or get suggestions I really like :D . I call them OranEas (Oar-an-A-iss).

OranEasians (...oh dear...I had not thought of how that would be if I refered to more then one of them....) Have a pale green complexion (Kind of like this: HELLO just more skin color.) They all have black hair and yellow or sometimes grey. OranEas families have large families, ranging from eight - sixteen memebers. They breath fire, not all as well as others, but all breath fire. They travel in groups and stay together (no less then five in a group). They enjoy each others company, but keep seperate from other races (most of the time...). Only twice in the history of Terra did the OranEas people join in a battle with other races.

That's all I have so far, if you have any suggestion or advice for me so I can improve them, please tell me! =)

I got a picture as them being a nomadic race. Are they nomadic or do they have established cities or states?

Do they have an established social system or hierarchy?

How are their technological capabilities and knowledge of their world?

If they have one, what is their religion?

Do they war with other races?

If so, what are their strategies?

Good questions. I hadn't thought of what their battle strategies would be, but I will work on it. What do they look like? Well, they resemble humans. Probably closest to elves actually.... Just a more olive-pale green color. As I said, they have black hair and yellow or grey eyes. They are tall, ranging from 5'6" to 6'3".

Their religion is Christianity. They believe in Jesus Christ, and that he died and rose again.

That's all I can remember of your questions, so let me go back and check and then I will reply again with answers in a little while!

Kind of creepy sounding. Do they believe in the actual Jesus or just a fictional representation of him?

Yeah, they have a king and nobles and what not.
They can be nomadic. It depends on the group they're with.
The different kingdoms of OranEas are either nomadic or not nomadic.
Yes, they do fight other races. Especially when they come into their territory.
No, there is no technology. Terra (tear-a...that's the world my book is in) is medieval.
And I haven't gotten as far as strategies yet! :?

Yes, they believe in the actual Jesus.
You kind of have to think of it like every thing that happened in the Bible happened in Terra. I'm still working on all the little details but that's the main idea.

Very mysterious. :D

Are they aggressive?

Are they kind?

What do they eat?

Doesn't that kind of take it out of the fantasy realm? Because you are having real historical figures? Because if you have Jesus, then you have the apostles, then you have the early church, then eventually you get us. :?

They can be aggressive.... It depends on the situation.
Most of them are kind...most of the time....

They eat what they can find, really. The main city of them is made of tunnels under ground. The only reason for this is because they live in a more marshy area and they also live very close to where the main villain lives.
So they eat things like birds that are attracted to the small fish that live in the marsh. They eat the vegetation that grows in the area.

Man...I hadn't thought of that, Daniel.... Give me a day or two and maybe I'll be able to answer that question! :x ...

I like the idea of the underground tunnels. Does everyone travel by means of the tunnels? What are the tunnels made of?

Since it is a marshy area, what do they use to keep the abundant moisture out of the tunnels?

Was Jesus a human or one of your other species? Did he do everything that he did in the Bible exactly? If so, did this happen before your story or during your story?

Did they make the tunnels in the first place or were they naturally there? Or were they dug by things that were there before they were?

What races (other then the main evil villian) are they hostile against?

They dug the tunnels but that was when the first group of OranEasins settled there. Over the years they keep digging tunnels, so it can hold all of them.

Good question. How do they keep the moisture out? I am thinking maybe that the tunnels are lined with large wooden beams and rocks to support them and keep most of the moisture out.

Jesus is a human and not another race in my story. I have several races in this story (Humans, elves, fairies, OranEasins, and a few others that I'm still working on). I am thinking every thing that happened in the Bible happened on Terra too. And no, it took place before my story takes place.

They are very hostile to any race they don't know much of. Which creates many problems for some of my other races....

Oh, I forgot to answer the question about do they have knowledge of their world. Well, the answer is yes, and no. They know quite a bit about their own country they live in (which is also populated by other races) and the three surrounding ones, but otherwise they don't know a lot about the other countries. They've heard about them, they just don't know details about them.

Does this happen in a parallel world (does this happen on earth too or does earth not exist) ?

Weapon-wise they use swords, axes, daggers, spears, really, any thing sharp they can get a hold of. :D

In my book there is no such thing as earth, they're the only world with living things on it.

Neat!
What is the world called?

Do they have languages seperate from the other race's languages or do they all speak the same language?

I think I will have some of the other races in different countries in my book speak a different language. I think that would be cool, but I just have to figure that out still. :book:

My temporary world name so far is Terra. But I'm still working on that too :D

Do you plan on portraying these other languages, or are you just going to give a basic awareness that they speak different languages?

Uh...I think it would be cool to portray the other languages, But it would be difficult to do, so I think I will just have the awareness of them instead of portraying them. But I'm still deciding on that...

*nods * I chose to go with the awareness in my books, rather than fully creating their languages. However, if you go with awareness, be sure that your readers are reminded of those languages. In my book, I have an occasional character spout something off in another language, or I mention their writing is different and can't be read by another character. It helps to keep it fresh in the reader's mind, without having to give detailed accounts.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Precisely; like in one of my books the gods have a language, no mortal knows how to speak it but occasionally the gods speak through them. Kind of like speaking in tongues.
