Well, since we have already have a favorite historical fiction book thread, it seems only natural to have a favorite nonfiction book thread too!
So for me...
Evidence Not Seen - an autobiography by Darlene Deibler Rose, a POW/missionary in the Pacific during WWII.
Things We Couldn't Say - an autobiography by Diet Eman, a resistance worker in the Netherlands.
I Don't Have Enough Faith to Become an Atheist - by Geisler and Turek, which I never finished, but the first chapters are really good.
And so many, many others.
And just while I was typing that I remembered -
Ralph Moody's autobiographies!! How could I have forgotten? Those are almost my favorite books. Favorites out of the series - Little Britches, Man of the Family, and Shaking the Nickel Bush... and others...

Essential Truths is REALLY, REALLY super good. It's basically a mini-systematic theology, and it's easy to read and really engaging.

I've been reading Keep a Quiet Heart lately, and have been really enjoying it! All my family loves her - and we got to see her less than a month ago! I really need to read more of her books, especially the ones on Jim Elliot.

Addition to the list - Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis (at least so far )

I like anything about history. As long as it isn't modern history. (I know enough about it )
Biographies usually annoy me because the writers often take far too much liberty with the person they are writing of and make wild assumptions.
Autobiographies are better but sometimes the person leaves out little things that they found embarrassing.
Theology books. Well....I won't go there
Inspirational/Instruction. Inspirational books hardly ever address something I need to be inspired about and I only like institutional books when I really want to know about something. e.g. Old English.

Anything by Leonard Ravenhill. He was truly a man of God.

Let's see... I am really liking a new book I'm reading called Heros, Gods and Monsters of the Greek Myths by Bernard Evslin. I also like the first book in a series called The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer (which is a homeschooling book), The Usborne Little Encyclopedia of Science, and The World of Animals. But my favorite out of all is a book called Sports by Francois Fortin. I've just started reading it, but it is awesome! It tells you about every sport out there and has great diagrams and visual pictures. It is really cool.

Ooh, I read this really good one recently, "Of Whom the World Was Not Worthy" by Martha Chaplain. It tells about a Jugoslavian Christain woman and her family during WWII. It didn't make me cry, but I came close. Highly recommended. Like my Dad recommended it to the Pastor's wife.

I read a really good book called 'The Persecutor' by Sergei Kurdakov. Very, very good biography.

My favourite non fiction would be 'What love is this?' by Dave Hunt.

I also like books about Jim Elliot.
