Hey! I have a really fun project for you guys. (at least I hope this will end up being fun and not some boring thread...hahahah! A boring thread on HW...that's funny) Anyways, before I give you my fun task I have to give a small summery as to why you'll be doing said task.

I'm writing a story (like most on HW), but this is a short story...not entirely short..it's more like a short book, but that's not what we're here to talk about. The story is called "The Dark Era" (It's a working title...for now that's what I am going to be using) and it is(sort of...) based after the so called "Dark Era" of Holy Worlds.

NOTE: for those of you who don't know what this is. It is actually just the HW randomness that came along when Sir Emeth Mimetes (A.K.A The Dark Lord or Site Admin ) had the one ring (from LoTR) for his ring...Thingy...yah, I don't know what this is called. Point is. It was hilarious. The main randomness happened in a thread, but there are still a lot of jokes that float around from it. Anyways, back on topic.

Obviously, the "Dark Era" of Holy Worlds isn't exactly a storyline handed to me on a platter...believe it or not there are a lot of rough areas that need sharpening. While I could do all this polishing by myself I figured since we have such an awesome community of talented fantasy writers on Holy Worlds, you guys can help me! Assuming you follow within the basic storyline rules that I sort of already have set in cement...but, you know, even cement can be broken.

So the basics of this story is this:
I know you guys get a kick out the whole "dark lord" thing (trust me it cracked me up the first time I figured it out ) but Sir Emeth (don't worry the character will have a different name...) can't be evil!...I mean, he can, but that's a really complex plot for such a small book. Easiest thing to do is make everyone just think he's evil, but he really isn't. Makes sense? I know...it doesn't to me either, which is why I am asking you.
The second thing is that I have no antagonist (every good book has an antagonist) and...that might be a problem. So any ideas for that?
The third being the whole entire lesson on the book. There are two rules I follow (my parent's conditions to letting me write fantasy) all my stories must A.) teach a Christian and good moral and B.) contain wholesome and clean grammar. The second one is easier than the first...so anybody who can come up with a moral for this extremely random idea for this story will receive...the content feeling of having helped me. ;)

So, those are basically the only rules you have to follow. Now, what I need you to do is give me all the information you have. I.E. Random jokes that I may not have heard of that have spurred from "the dark era" of holy worlds, something Sir Emeth said you thought sounded particularly inspirational, or just random holy worlds facts I don't know because I'm still relatively new. For those of you who weren't here during the dark era of holy worlds (like me) don't feel left out! I still need help with plotting and characters. Any advice, comments, or criticism will be taken to heart and considered greatly. :D Have fun!

Ooh! I was a turncoat during the 'dark ages,' if that helps any. My reasons behind it, however, are very complex - PM me if you're interested :)

As to the book itself....I will think on some sort of moral. Perhaps 'don't mess with a ringed fellow?' Just kidding, I will think of something serious. *will get back to you*

You don't necessarily need an antagonist. Sometimes the antagonist is a force rather than a person - a sin, a misconception, a mental or physical obstacle. People can often be an antagonist to themselves by their own faults, or various characters can hinder each other by their arguments and difficulties.

Just skimming over the details you already have, what if the moral was "Don't jump to conclusions?" People assume the Dark Lord is evil and misconstrue his actions, when really he's benign. Lots of room for comedy. :D

(@Philidelphia) I like the idea of the characters being their own enemies...I'm going to have sit there and think on that one.

That is a good moral. :) I've never written a comedy book before, so that would be an adventure in itself. :D

Characters being their own enemies is very effective... in fact, it's excruciating. They so want to be different... and yet they 'can't'. I had a character like that. It made the storyline exceptionally interesting (to me ;) ). And very... tangled.

First order of business: The antagonist could be either a thing the dark lord Emeth is battling inside himself, or it could be the journey and quest that he must conquer. Remember; antagonists don't always have to be people.

Second order of business: You must direct me immediately to the thread where the dark era of HW started! I'm assuming that was while I was gone...

Second order of business: *does some digging in archives* Oh, here we go!...I think this is the thread. Wasn't even in the archives, haha. ;)

First order of business:
*cough cough, procrastination, cough cough* who said that? Not me!
Just kidding! I know you are busy with Florida's awesome beaches! Around what area are you staying? East or west? The west side has much better waves!

2nd order of business: Thanks!

*giggles* No, but, then again, I did not know the original prices to start. It does not make a difference to me. :D

Let's get back on topic. :)

Yes, yes! So anything you need to help with the story, Faith?
