I am working on my world, Tevo; I have a half Giant race called the Lamig; however, I can't work out what the other half race can be. :dieshappy:

I need something strong and cunning. For some reason when I think of Giants I always think people try and portray them as slightly stupid; I want something powerful but cunning and wise. They are an evil race.

My problem is: I can't make the other half a beast, which is what I would have liked, because that just seems....Wrong. So what can I put with the Giant race that would join well, if that makes sense! Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm a bit confused Steph, you need two half races? What exactly do you mean by that? :?

:P I'm better at explaining this whilst talking. Hmm, Seer said I could have it that the Giant 'falls in love' with someone from a different race, magically changes features, height etc., so that a mixed race is brought about. Do you understand what I mean now? :dieshappy:

Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Shapeshifters and Giants at the moment. :) I don't plan to add any more at present.

What are your dwarves like, Elanor? If they're crafty and have a somewhat bad rep, they could be good contestants.

Otherwise, do any of the other races have mixed good-and-evil, or are certain ones generally associated with either good or evil? {particularly evil, since we're thinking of an evil race of half-giants here}

Actually, come to think of it, humans would be unusually good for adding cunning, selfishness, and that pure human sinful evil to the equation.

Anything sounding good to you?

That's a good number of races. :)

So you need another half race? Does it have to be half-giant? *wonders*

I guess it doesn't have to be, Brendan; but I wanted a giant race in there, I guess it woudn't matter greatly if I didn't.

I haven't worked on the dwarves yet, Estar. My aim is to have some dwarves that live in one part of Tevo who have a bad reputation and more dwarves in another part who don't. That would make it more interesting I think, so what you are saying would work there.

Humans, now that might work. But my humans are Te Warriors, and as they are noble etc I would hesitate to use them for this purpose.

What if you had more than one group of humans, then?

You could add the race of sylphs. Air dwelling people. Would that fit well with an evil half-giant race?

That sounds intriguing, Tsahraf! What are air dwelling people?

I don't want too many, Lea. I feel like I have enough to work with at the moment.

Brendan, that might be quite a good idea; I want there to be a very deep rooted hatred between the Shapeshifters and the Giants, so that could be the reason why. :)

I did not have a very solid idea, but I have a few suggestions. They could be the shapeshifters, depending on how you have already developed the shapeshifters. They could live on a flying island or flying city, or have no homes at all. They could also live on mountains, towers, or hilltops. They could have the power to fly, and to ride on the winds, or to be silent, or hard to see.

It could be forbidden to intermarry between them and other races, which could be a reason for their evilness.
