Taninim
Pronounced: Tan-ne-nem

Historical Record:
Taninim are a race of dragons that have been hidden from view since the creation of Chevl'Set. There are no stories of them and scattered and few are the ones who have actually heard of them.
Elah created this race for a specific purpose; to help in the war against Pavix. He ordered them to stay hidden and out of the view of any other race, until they were called upon during the final of the world's dark days.

Physical Appearance:
While Taninim have the basic bone structure of dragons their outer appearance is still quite different. They have soft scales that sparkle in the sunshine and seem to glow in the moonlight, sometimes they don't even seem to look like scales.
Their wings are made of a soft, velvet material that makes flight very gentle and entirely silent. A Taninim could fly above your head and you would not hear it, for they are careful and stealthy beasts, good at hiding.
Typical Taninim eyes are a very bright blue, though, there are some with green and even purple eyes. All Taninim eyes are colorful and none are brown, black, or colorless.

Abilities:
Taninim abilities are not fully understood, but they are great. Taninim will shoot boiling water out of their mouths, with steam rising from their nostrils when they breath.
A Taninim is fully capable of fighting, though they try to avoid it due to their peaceful nature. Taninim are not dragons of war, but dragons of mercy.
Taninim can swim, quite well, actually. They have hidden deep in the depths of the ocean for many years, swimming among the great sea beasts as if they were a fish themselves. They can breath water as if it were air and also air as if it were water, this makes them excellent swimmers and very adaptable to any climate.

Summary:
Taninim are great beasts with unique powers, yet they are known of by few. While it would be wise to use caution when meeting one, they are not to be fear for their hearts are bigger than their stomachs.

I love these, Bethy! One always pictures dragons to be quite bad, hoarding gold etc so to make some up that are similar but not the same and good hearted ones is such a good idea. I really like them!
