The Zarazan are a semi-sapient carnivorous creature. They are always evil, and cannot be used for good. They are serpentine in shape, with a wolf-like head, perhaps slightly elongated, long pointed ears that lie nearly flat, and they have only two short arms near the head. They are clawed and have two rows of teeth. Length is anywhere from 10-50 ft. in length and they never stop growing. They have the ability of flight, but I'm still trying to figure out how, as they are devoid of wings (in other words, please, I would love suggestions!). Sort of Chinese dragon like. Life-span is up to about 300 years. Their intelligence is enough that they have a chief, although they do not all live in one place, but roam the Silent Mountains in search of food.

They rarely go far from the Silent Mountains unless need drives them. Although they do not go far, they often go into the hills around them, as little lives in the mountains because of their barrenness.

They are mortal enemies with Gryphins.

The Zarazan live mostly in the Silent Mountains on the continent of Tellius, although sightings of them have also occurred in on other continents, but not in the numbers on Tellius. They is another large colony of them in the mountains of the continent of Nonanga, but few know it, as no one lives in them and only two countries are on Nonanga, the mountains taking the greater part, and one of those nations being very primitive. In the entire world there exist only about 2,000.

They Zarazan were the main tool of the Great Serpent in the Great Rebellion. For their part in the Great Rebellion, they were robbed of speech, no longer having even vocal cords, only being able to emit shrieks and screams. They were also robbed of much of their sapience, being now little above dumb beasts.

Maybe they could fly because they have some sort of anti-gravity power that makes them defy gravity?...like...levitation? :? Yeah, I dunno.

Anyways, they sound neat! :D

Yeah, but I don't know how to make that work. I was thinking maybe they received it as a gift from the Great Serpent (i. e. Satan).

Wow, that's a very high compliment. Thanks!

That's actually a good idea, but I might make it just three, because there are only three colonies of them and I only need one leader for each colony. Of course, now I have to figure out why.

That could work. Their loss of speech resulting from the Fall, but their loss of intelligence put on them by their own leaders, perhaps the leaders caused it in order to receive the gift of flight from the Great Serpent.
