The suddenness of the strike or the suddenness of the armbar? The armbar wasn't sudden.

Jay: "Sara ran over and started untying my ropes. SHe had been rubbing her wrists on the rough wall, and it had worn them down enough that she could get out of them. I couldn't, being tied to a post. We were still stuck in the room, though-at least for the moment."

Pirzak: *tosses his rope and yanks down, attempting to tie it to a large stake in the ground that is conveniently embedded nearby*

Me:

Pirzak: "You wrote it!"

Me: "I know, I know..."

Me: (@Zoe) *giggles* Why? It's not like you're killing me. Besides...I'll..probably regenerate him.

Emuna: What??

Terminus: *swerves around to see Alexis* There you are.

Me: Well...he doesn't panic about the sword...strange...

Terminus: She said she wasn't going to kill me.

Me: *writes down on notebook*

Terminus:

Alianna: Smart Sara!

Jay: "No kidding. 'Thanks,' I said.

She looked at me. 'Are you a secret agent or something?'

I sighed. 'I'll explain later.' I reached in my pocket and pulled out a piece of gum, a 2cm piece of string, and a paperclip. 'Chew this. Now.' I unwrapped the gum and handed it to her, then walked to the wall near the air vent. 'Okay, Jayson Lewis, you're going to have to do this fast. They'll get to the surveillance room any minute...'

Me: A paper clip? What could he do with a pap-

Alianna: Shhh...I bet my brother could do something with a paperclip. Why couldn't Jay? *goes back to paying attention to story*

Me: *coughhecouldntcough*

Skylar: *catches the other rope and tries to tie it to a pillar*

Alexis: *grits her teeth* *raises her sword, her hand shaking* *lets her arm fall to her side* I can't. I just can't.
Me:

Me: Darn...

Alianna: *thwacks Me*

Me: Hey! Ow! What was that for?

Alianna: You said... *whispers* Darn.

Me: You're confusing it with the other word, Hun... *thwacks Alianna* And don't thwack me!

Terminus: *pauses* Really? You can't kill me? You don't even know me! Come on! *makes Alexis lift her sword up* Grow some back bone and kill me already!

Me: Are you trying to...mentor her?

Terminus: *backs away from Alexis some* NO! Why would I do that?!

Me: Umm...never mind. Forget I mentioned it.

Jay: "I knelt down by a small camera, folding the gum wrapper hamburger style, foil side out. I pried open the side with the paper clip and slipped the wrapper between two wires, causing it to short circuit."

Pirzak: *draws his sword* "Now what?"

Shawn: *tries to pull out her pocketknife*

Me: Ooo....smart...

Alianna: Ditto...then what happened?

Silver - (Puts on a burst of speed)

Ryan - Whooaaa, whoooaaaa, AHHHHH! (falls off) *splash*

Silver - (Keeps going, lightened without her rider, and glides past the finish line) WHOOOH!

Ember - (Has slowed down, and is continuing at a leisurely pace) You lost your rider!

Silver - I what?

Me - You're disqualified, Silver!

Silver - Oh. (Turns around) Ryan!

Ryan - (Surfaces) Thanks a lot.

Niarah - (Flips to her feet, and attacks Kuura'zan in a flurry of claws)

Kuura'zan - (Ignoring the scratches, grabs Niarah by the throat)

Niarah - (Clamps her jaws on his wrist)

Ashrai - (Sidesteps the swordthrust, grabbing Mordir's swordhand) *growls* I never lose focus.

Zanya - (Wonders if she could erect a sail for Rowen)

Seymour: [Smiles] I didn't know it was a language.

Me: He's multi-gifted.

Rune: Way to be humble.

Me: I was kidding!

Rune: Way to slam on your own character.

Me: [Chucks a dictionary at Rune]

Seymour: [Ignores Rune and me and turns to Gavin] Yes, in a way. You need to constantly stay alert, and giving too much thought into an attack may cost you your life.

Me: Ooooohhhh! Emotional development for Chayn! I've got an idea!

Rowen: What (huffs) are you (huffs more) thanking?

Me: Emotional development, that's what I just said.

Chayn: [Roars in frustration struggling to get back on her feet.] What kind of emotional development is this?!

Me: Well, it's not here yet. [To Skylar, Pirzak and Raczr] Just keep on doing what you're doing.

Tounon: You're awful.

Me: It'll be good for her. So long as Shawn doesn't go berserk like Chayn did earlier on in the rebellion...

Cassie: [Looks at Dri's characters] Are you guys humans? Or different creatures or something?

Aelynn: Sure! [Hurries off. Murmuring 'straight sticks' under her breath]

Zurik: [Snarls and grabs Kaida's arm, yanking it away from his throat and twisting it behind her back (if that doesn't work, forget he did that)] You're words are only adding to your level of annoyance, girl. So I suggest you cease. [Looks at Hetsila] Yes, the girl is of no worth to me. She is an annoying little pest-

Chase: [Half draws his sword] Take it back.

Tynx: [Snorts] Did you know it would banish you?

Suragore: [Very nearly collides into Ryan as he slips past]

Rowen: [Still huffing] Hold my wings up, they can be used as a sail.

Mordir: Seemed like it to me. [Swings his other hand around and punches Ashrai's face] Now, you should let go.

Me: Haha...it isn't TECHNICALLY a language... Might as well be, though, seeing as I hardly understand him.

Gavin: So...you're telling me that thinking is bad? *slices at Seymour's shoulder* That's definitely a first.

Brian: Gavin, Gavin, Gavin...do you understand nothing? He doesn't mean thinking thinking he means thinking that affects your timing. If you entirely don't think you'd be...well...like...you are.

Gavin: Hey!

Emuna: *giggles*

Me: Okay, here are two more of my characters. Guaranteed not to get along well together.

*Two men appear. One is about 5'8", and slender, with collar-length black curly-curly hair, dark tan skin, a short goatee, and transparent black eyes.*

Me: This is "Mahlia's father". I'll be calling him "Maf", for short. He needs a TON of development.

*The second man is taller, about 5'11". He has light skin, a clean-shaven face, and brown hair that tends to flop into his pale blue eyes.*

Me: This is Faolan. He's fairly well developed, but he could use some more development.

Faolan: She said not to fight anybody. Not even Agrothians.

Me: *shoves Emuna* Go say hi to Maf.

Emuna: *stumbles* Umm...why?

Me: Because he sounds like the kind of person you wouldn't get along with. Now go. *shoves Emuna some more*

Emuna: *nearly falls* Ow-hey! Fine! *walks over to Maf* Greetings, pleasure to meet you. *curtsies*

Shawn: *winces as the rope is pulled tight* "I'm on top of Chayn at the moment.."

Me: "She might go beserk, though..."

Pirzak: "Oh, terrific."

Jay: *watches Chayn for a moment* "What? Oh. I turned to the vent and managed to wrench the cover off. 'Go,' I said to Sara.

'What?!?'

'Go!' I remembered my back-up plan. 'Tell the person running the merry-go-round what's going on.' I could hear a large group of people running towards the room. 'Get out of here!'

Alianna: What about you??? What happened to you???

Wait, who's on top? In pulling out his arm, Griffin shook Beduun's arms and they were no longer guarding his head.

Swimming Creatures: *cross the line in the order of Brand, Erronys, Levi, Victor, and Malcolm*

Me: Although I'm not sure where they are in respect to the other characters.

Kaida: *sees Zurik reaching for her arm and pushes to blade closer to draw a little blood*

Aren: *comes out of the woods near Trevelian* My, things have happened since I left.

His head was tucked down, which guarded it from strikes, not his arms. Beduuin is still on top.

Seymour: Not necessarily. Thinking isn't bad, but thinking too much when you should be acting is. [Blocks with the blunt edge of the staff's blade]

Me: I love that weapon.

Rune: Of course you do.

Me: You really want another dictionary?

Rune: [Looks around at all the scattered dictionaries from past throws] Nope, I'm good. [Lifts a hand in greeting to Maf and Faolan]

Me: Go socialize, for heaven's sake!

Rune: Why?

Me: Because I said so.

Rune: Everyone's busy.

Me:

Chayn: [Roars and tries to stand] This development better be good!

Me: Depends on how you define good, and for whom.

Chayn: [Pauses, looking at me nervously]

Rowen: [Huffs and tries to keep up]

Suragore: [Slips in between Victor and Malcolm]

Tesmir: [Gasping] Wow! That was awesome!

Tounon: [Looks behind him] You're still on.

Tesmir: Yeah. Why wouldn't I be? You didn't think I could stay on, did you?

Tounon: Not really, no.

Zurik: [Grimaces, then jerks his arm back, elbowing her in the face] Your worth? You are just like her. I have no use for you. The girl's worth is unimportant. She is a mere child.

Me: You should stop before one of them strangles you.

Gavin: Okay...but how does this help with anything? I thought fighting was about how many things you know how to do and all that fancy stuff-*gets thwacked* Ow! *glares at Me*

Me: You were talking like a modern teenager...don't work that way in wince you cometh.

Gavin: I don't talk like that either.

Me: I know you don't, wish I had a character that did, though...Oy! Developed Mikhail some!

Emuna: Wow...he's going to be annoying if he talks like that...

Me: *throws dictionary at Emuna*

Emuna: *dodges* Ha!

Me: *mumbles*

Fallen: ...Not exactly...


Alaric: That was the most fun I've had in years!

Me: Sorry this took so long. I tried to post yesterday afternoon, but the power went out.

Alexis: *eyes grow wide* *closes them tightly and grits her teeth* *stabs Terminus*

Skylar: One person needs to distract the girl, one needs to sit on the dragon's nose, and one needs to kill the dragon. If the girl doesn't have a sword, I can go for her, if you like.

Terminus: *vanishes*

Me: Yay!

Terminus: *regenerates* Yay?

Me: Yup, yay. 'Twas a fun duel.

Terminus:

Alexis: *crumples, the sword clattering to the ground* *buries her face in her hands*
Julian: *picks up his sword* *puts his arm around her shoulders*

Me: Yup! 'Twas fun.

Terminus: *strolls over to Alexis* Why are you crumpled up on the ground? Wait, are you cry?? *screams* SHE'S CRYING, FOLK-*gets hit by rock* Hey!

Brian: *whistles innocently and strolls behind me*

Me: Oh. Hide behind the author...that's mature...

Maf: *smiles courteously* You are more of a pleasure to meet than I am. *extends both hands crossed at the wrists while bowing slightly*

Faolan: *half smiles and waits for somebody to greet him*

Emuna: I have no proper response to such manners.

Brian: I don't think Beth has developed manners in any of her characters...

Me: What are you?

Brian: I'm...sort of mannerly...okay, whatever.

Me: Too much modern English.

Emuna: *smiles shyly at Maf, half unsure of what to do* Umm...so...how are you?

Maf: *looks at extended hands, waits awkwardly for a second, then drops them* How am I? Are you inquiring after my age? Or my social status?

Faolan: *waits some more, looking around*

Emuna: Umm...I-I...don't know...usually it's replied with a "I'm good" or occasions "I'm terrible", but normally the former is preferred...though...the latter is a good conversation starter and-

Me: Oo...development...

Brian: Huh? What development?

Me: *thwacks Brian* Nothing, go say hi to name I can't spell.

Brian: *rubs arm* Okay... Why can't Terminus do it?

Me: *glares at Brian* WHY ARE MY CHARACTERS SO UNSOCIABLE??

Brian: *rolls eyes and walks over to... Faolan?* Hello, Sir. *bows slightly* May I express my greetings and salutations.

Me: Better...though...you sound like David.

Faolan: *half smiles* Thank you sir. May I express mine also. *Holds out right hand* Where are you from?

Maf: *looks slightly confused* I...don't walk with evildoers, if that's what you mean...(though I am the son-in-law of one. )

Me: I'm surprised Emuna and Maf speak the same language. And yes, you spelled Faolan's name correctly, Beth.

Brian: *pauses*

Me: *wonders if they shake hands in Realta* Probably not...

Brian: Nice. So what do we do?

Me: Bow...or curtsy.

Emuna: *smiles* Well, no, that wasn't the exact definition of my ramble...but, I suppose it will suffice. My relations having to do with evildoers are...umm...too close.

Terminus: *glares at Emuna* I heard that.

Me: *puts up fence between Emuna and Terminus* Stay!

Terminus: *ignores me and turns back to Alexis*

Maf: *glances at Terminus* Is he related to you? An uncle? Cousin?

Me* *whispers* Maf! C'mere! *whispers something in his ear*

Maf: Oh, I meant to ask an innocent question. I beg you to forget my offense against you, Emuna. Let us talk about something else. Are you married? I am---I married her five years ago. We have one little girl.

Faolan: *rolls eyes at Brian's awkwardness* So, you are from Realta? I am from the Great Forest of Morancis.

Emuna: It's fine, an entirely innocent question, I took no offense...though, I'm glad I did not have to answer... I'm not married, I just turned the proper marrying age...but there are no suitors. It sounds like you have a lovely life.

Brian: Indeed. Though...I suppose I could be from Shamayim too...technically, my history is from Shamayim, but I am from Realta. It's... Complex.

Maf: I wish you only the very best in your quest for a husband, Emuna. I wish you could meet my wife and daughter...they are so beautiful. *closes eyes and smiles*

Me: I'll bring them here later, Maf.

Maf: Good! Most good! Why do you keep calling me Maf?

Me: Because I don't know your name. And you won't tell me.

Maf:

Faolan: I have lived in the river village of Charse for all of my life. I am a logger by trade. I have five daughters and a wife---

Me: Not yet! You only have three so far!

Faolan: *becomes about ten years younger* Yes. Of course I do.

Me: Maf is 22. I guess Faolan is 28 now.

Emuna: Haha, it isn't much of a quest right now...with the human race being destroyed and all... *glares at me*

Me: What?! It fit into the book well!

Emuna: Lovely...

Brian: That is nice. I have no romantic relations. Though, I have a father...sort of. And a mother, no siblings, though. Emuna has an older brother and Gavin has an older sister, but we don't know much of them.

Maf: Human race...destroyed?

Me: Don't worry, Maf! She's talking about in another world from yours!
Bethany Faith?...what did you just say?!

Faolan: Don't know much of them? Do you live near them?
My parents died several years ago. They were pretty old...And I have four older brothers. We don't get to talk much.

Emuna: *solemnly* Yes...

Me: What did I just say?! *hides behind Taranis* I see angry smiley.

Taranis: *pushes me away gently* Baby.

Me: I am not! *hides behind Terminus*

Taranis:

Brian: Indeed, we live in a small village. Well, small in comparison to Shamayim. Everybody lives close to everybody, simply a walks away.
I am sorry about your parents...Emuna's...

Emuna: *glances at Brian*

Brian: Umm...never mind. Her history is rather lengthy. My family lives, though I do not speak with my father often...I do not know what happened to my mother, entirely, but I assume that she is also still alive.

Me: You know perfectly well what you just said!! How dare you kill a bunch of innocent...people... ...uh, never mind.

Maf: There is nothing I can do to help? Will you die, then?

Faolan: My village is also small. Ten families, I think. What is your trade, Brian?

Me: *chuckles like only a writer would when killing off an entire race*

Emuna: N-no...I won't die...so long as I stay out of the way of Anikulum..it's...umm...a long story. Besides, *perks up slightly* I'm not entirely human.

Terminus: *grumbles*

Brian: My trade? I suppose scholar, though, my father wishes I was a soldier, I have the training of a soldier, as well as the skills, but...I do not wish to be a soldier.

Faolan: Me neither. I hope the need never arises.

Me:

Faolan: But I don't think that will be the case...the way that Agrothian prince has been treating us is becoming unbearable.

Maf: *hears Faolan* You shouldn't speak of my father-in-law that way. But I do agree with you.

Faolan:

Maf (@Emuna): What? Not human? I...how can that be?

Me: *sighs, then makes Maf understand so he won't ask all these questions I know the answer to*

Maf: Oh, you do not have to answer, Emuna. I understand now.

Me:

Maf: My father and mother are back in Agrotha. I haven't seen them in two years, and I wish they could see little Mahlia...she's grown so much.

Me: *slaps forehead* Of course, he would have family back in Agrotha. Why didn't I think of that before? *must reference them in the book*

Actually, Maf, I'm planning a visit from them.

Maf: You are allowing them to come? Most good! I thank you, Author!

Me:

Emuna: You're father-in-law is a prince? You must be honored in your society. Gavin is the chief's son...but...umm....yeaaaah...

Gavin: Hey! You can't think of something good to say about me?

Emuna:

Gavin: *glares at Emuna*

Brian: Yes...it seems I'm fighting more wars than I would like... *sighs* But I suppose defense comes before comfort.

Emuna: Mahlia is your daughter's name? What a lovely name!

Alexis: *looks up, her eyes fierce and scornful behind her tears* *speaks through clenched teeth* You sure know how to send a girl through an emotional roller coaster, don't you? First you make me angry at you, and then you make me sorry to have to kill you, and then you mock me. *stands up and stalks away*

Julian: (@Terminus) *hand on the hilt of his sword* How dare you?!
Me: *headdesk* Julian!

Terminus: *grins and follows Alexis* Sending girls on emotional roller coasters is my specialty.

Emuna: *mumbles* No argument there...

Terminus: Though, honestly, you could use the toughening up. You'll end up dead if you don't kill those who threaten you.

Me: Wow...the morals you have, Termy...

Terminus: You gave them to me. *ignores Julian*

Brian: (@Julian) NOW you care...

Alexis: *stops* *doesn't turn around* Why are you following me?

Julian: (@Brian) Of course I care. She's my sister.

Me: *pants* "Hurrah for Wifi! I'm caught up, but now I forget where Jay was in the story..."

Pirzak: "I'll go after the-"

Raczr: "-dragon's nose."

Pirzak: "What?"

Me: *quietly takes away Shawn's weapons for developmental purposes*

Shawn:

Pirzak: "Fine!" *jumps on Chayn's nose* "Now what?"

Raczr: *looks at Shawn* @ Skylar: "She's weaponless."

Me: "My villains must have learned something."

Terminus: Because you stomped away and I wasn't through talking to you.

Me: You know, in movies...they normally let the stomper stomp away and the stompee just stands there wondering what just happened.

Terminus: Hence the term movies

Me: (@Shawn) Uhh...I think he was at the part after he let Sara go...
