Now, how many people can sit in via skype depends just a little on how many people bring laptops.

"I've got Elanhil in my laptop, who's in yours?"
"Oh, well I agreed to bring Jay along. He's all packed up in here."

We are running into a problem with outdoor picnic areas. Places like Forest park and such have a fee for using their pavilion parks...

I'll keep looking, but the outside aspect is difficult.

You could let someone with skype use your computer to log onto their account. Though that might be complicated if skype requires a download. I don't remember at the moment.

Just for everyone's info, Forest Park has zero places with electrical outlets available.

I know because I scouted it out for filming locations last year, and we had to use a generator for one scene we filmed there.

Not a problem if no one needs laptops to run longer than their battery will allow.

I am making a valiant attempt to come up with a laptop compatible place guys. We want you all there.

I’ve got some e-mails out to some friends. I’m hoping they will be able to direct me to some more places to scout out next week. I plan on taking pictures when I find a good site, so ya’ll can look it over.

I know everybody is itching to skype in to the convention,
but I will opine that it is most important to accommodate those who will be attending in person.
I don't really want to drive over so I can watch a bunch of people use their laptops LOL.

We can arrange a skype convention and use computers to connect with each other at any time.
This is an opportunity to meet with others in the group in person.
I'm thinking it might be a good idea to limit the skyping to an allotted time.

Hey guys, I wanted to apologize. I am sorry, but I can no longer look for a place for us to attend. There were some unexpected things that occurred last week, to prevent me from going looking as I had hoped. And today I am traveling to NJ, and will be out of town until July 5th. So much as I am very sorry to let you guys down; I have to pass the baton. I will be there though.

It is about a 50 minute drive from St. Louis. I thought we were wanting something in St Louis? Not that I wouldn't mind Babler. It is pretty.

Babler is about 25 miles west of the arch, in the city of Chesterfield. Technically it's not in St. Louis, but it is in the St. Louis area. It's a very nice park, although it's been quite a few years since I've been there. They even have horseback riding stables, if I remember. :cool:
