Food textures... how very interesting. Must take more notice of that next time. *note to self: detail textural eating experiences in notebook for later perusal*

Totally off-topic comment: WE'VE REACHED SIX PAGES AND STAR STATUS!!!! *breaks out more glitter, wonders if it's legal to glitterize one's own thread...*

Of course it's legal :D *throws glitter everywhere*

Apparently I am very liberal in my food tastes and few others share my freedom.... :D

Yes, yes, yes! You don't like bananas or meat either! :D I'm not a vegetarian, though.

I like almost anything that is covered in powdered sugar. :D I do not like the pistachio kind, though. :P

*wants maple fudge now*

Glitter is legalized, period! A great battle was fought over it.

Wow, Elanor, a fellow texture person!

Okay... now I'm really going to break the image everyone has of me. How many of you do not like your food touching on your plate. I'm not talking about stuff that was cooked together, but like, for example, mashed potatoes should not touch your bread, green beans, or chicken?

It's all going to be touching in your stomach. ;)

*waves both hands wildly* Oh yeah, that's me. We even put applesauce in separate bowls so that it doesn't mix with the spaghetti on our plates. :P

I'm picky with some textures, especially with meat.

My Mom can't understand why we even have applesauce... My Dad likes it.

The texture of homemade applesauce is the best. :D

Your stomach doesn't have taste buds, Jonathan, your mouth does. I don't care what your food does down there, it is very different. If food and juices mix on your plate, you taste/feel it. Bread becomes soggy with green bean juice, applesauce mixes with your spaghetti, and suddenly you have macaroni on your chicken!

I always try to keep my food from touching. :D If I'm at a potluck and there are a whole lot of things I want to try, I'm more willing to let them touch, but I try to keep similar things together.

Wait. Wasp sushi?

I actually found that comment completely on-topic, Evenstar. :D

Oh, we have a delicious homemade cinnamon applesauce that we make in the crockpot. The taste is divine... and the smell!

Phili!!!! *gasps in shock* May I still call you that??!! *grimaces at thinking about having to remember yet another username...* By the way, derailments are welcome in intro threads! Right trusty intro thread mod?

Ooh, food! Yummy! I agree with everyone's comments about not mixing foods. Purist to the core, that's me! And oooooh, homemade applesauce = *the* best!

That is correct. We do not moderate off-topicness down here. We just expect you to be nice in your off-topicness. :D *wishes she could think of some witty and hilarious off-topic comment, but can't...*

Sorry. :'( Yes, of course, I expect people will still call me Philli. Which is why I'm not sure changing my username, this late in the game, did any good. I'm not sure yet whether it will stay. I might switch to my penname and call it good. (I know. I'm boring.)

Airianna! You should know better than to encroach on other people's food choices. How would you like it if I forced you to eat cupcakes because I thought you should? What if I took away your favorite foods because I thought they were disgusting? Tsk, tsk!

*rolls eyes * I'm not encroaching on anything. I'm smacking my dear Andrew because he is, in brotherly form, doing something specifically to get a rise out of me. He doesn't like his food mixed. He just wants my reaction.

Food fight? *ducks and wields flaming glitter-onigiri sword threateningly* By the way, I had the most divinely delicious chocolate ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery last night... *deliriously happy*

Phili, perhaps I may call you LLL? Lady LL sounds rather too close to a not-so-ladylike singer of similar name.

Yes, you may. Sometimes I (and the people that call me it) shorten it as L3, since the full title is technically Lady Leah Loraine Longsway III. :D But whatever floats your boat is dandy with me!

Or would that be L4? Elfour? Elf! Aha! Now that was brilliance! Elfo? Not so much :shock: . Elthree...sounds like Elsie...which reminds me of a character by that name from whom I have never fully recovered... I shall certainly refrain from calling you that particular name! {Or maybe I will. Just to mix things up :D }

No no NO!!!!!! *genius stroke of brilliance has struck me* Elfee! Combines four "Ls" with three "Ls." If you don't mind, formerly-Phili, your new nickname is now Elfee

I am speechless... That is so hilarious yet so amazingly creative that it just boggles the mind.

Yes, I'm Airianna's little elf. My penname (Aubrey) also means something like "leader of the elves," so I use "elfinpen" for a username where "Aubrey Hansen" is taken. So all around it's amazingly fitting.

*wanders away from the thread in awe*

Oh! But the nice thing about that nickname is, if I change my username again ( ), the nickname will still fit, for the above reasons. :D

It isn't just you. :D I realized the other day that I used Philadelphia in several HW-related applications, some of which I can't change my username on. All in all, the damage was done, so I'm just going to leave it. *is honestly relieved to have that settled*

Don't worry, Elanor, you can always feel free to jump in, throw something, and start a new topic! *hem, hem, it's high time for a new topic!*

"throw something"... heehee!

*thinks of random but semi-interesting topic* Evenstar, do you play any instruments? *hopes that topic hasn't already been covered*

Have you looked into our HW community story? :D

Yes and yes, Elfee. {*loves using that name*}

Instruments I play: I'm not taking piano lessons at the moment, but I've taken them five to six years. For all that time, I'm not great, but I enjoy playing and I can play most intermediate-level stuff. Not that I care about levels when I'm playing!

The community story: I've looked at it, but am a little at a loss of where to plunge in. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

*loves Evenstar using that name, too*

I am just getting off for the night, but I will give you a full reply tomorrow on the HWCS. :D

*Jumps in head first* Ouch!!! Ok that hurt, *Rubs head sadly*

New topic? Hmm do you write Sci Fi? Do you like horses? Have you ever heard of Parelli? Do you have pets? I'm sorry if any of these topics have been covered, ignore the ones that have! :D

By the way you asked me near the start of this thread if I had ever read The Light Princess and to answer your question I never have.

Have you ever read much Jane Austen? I only like a few of her books, I have never read any fantasy really other than Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit but I have got a kindle so I can get most books on there, shall I put The Light Princess on the list?

Hm.... great questions, Elanor, and I hope your head had a speedy recovery! :D

I don't write sci fi, at least I haven't before. I'm more of a historical fic & fantasy gal. With some contemporary stuff thrown in for diversity :) . Actually, my first piece of work was a story about my rubber duckies I played with in the bath when I was little  !

Oh, I love horses! Thus the avi is quite appropriate - credits to Seer there. I took riding lessons on a visit to the States once, but other than that I've mostly admired them from afar. How about you?

Parelli? No, never in my whole entire life have I heard that word! Now please do enlighten me!

Pets... sadly, no, none at all. And the only one I've ever had are goldfish we "goldfish-sat" one time for friends. My family moves way too often to keep pets, plus, my mom is highly allergic to most furry animals. I've always wanted either a cat or a horse, though - aside, of course, from unicorns, friendly dragons, fairies, and the like ;) .

Jane Austen - YES!!! You've just stumbled onto one of my favorites! Pride and Prejudice certainly ranks in my top 10 faves, and her other ones are good, but not quite as lovely. Sense and Sensibility was awful, though.... I finished reading by wishing a particular character would die so that Marianne, one of the heroines, could marry her true love. But she married this not-too-old-but-somewhat-unromantic guy instead. As you may be aware.

Yes! Put Light Princess on your to-read list definitely! It's a short story, so wouldn't take that long. Here's the link to the free Gutenberg version: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/697 You should also look at George MacDonald's other works, if you like this one. Which, if you like fairy tales, I'm sure you will!

Okay, sorry about the delay here! Community Story.

Yes, it can be very dizzying. But it's very open-source, so truth be told, you can jump in however you want. If you just want to read a few active threads and post some ideas, go for it at your leisure.

If you're interested in getting more involved, consider joining up on a team. This post explains how the teams are divided, what roles exist in each team, and who is in charge of each team. viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2216 If you want to explore the teams before picking one, most of the subforums under the Triterrus have a few stickied threads at the top that help explain the basics of each world/race.

If you want to get a basic introduction to Triterrus as a whole, Tim posted this podcast. viewtopic.php?f=42&t=2590

And if you have any specific questions, just ask! :D

I'm about the same, with piano. I've taken lessons in the past, but amn't currently. I can play some advanced pieces with a lot of effort, but intermediate/early-advanced is my comfort zone.

I'll come and reply soon Even! I am having two busy days at work, it tends to be taxing especially when I have 6 dogs to do so I'm so tired when I get home I tend to just flop out and sleep. Hehe! I'm off to work in a minute so don't have time right now. :dieshappy:

Phili, I have another question about the community story thing. Are you actually writing any stories, or just world-building?

When Airi manually types out an action, it is for emphasis. The brain passes over this:  more so than it does this: *rolls eyes *.

Just so ya'll know.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
