Welcome to Herald's Hall! I'm your friendly host and Head of HW Media, Timotheus. I requested this subforum to make a place for us to go to post information regarding publishing and all other areas of the business for writers. You can post new articles you read and your thoughts to spurn discussions. Another idea is to create a thread with hyperlinks to your favorite websites related to websites, podcasts, publishing houses, Christian forums we could cross market with, etc.

I'll be posting an example soon of how I'd like to format threads on this forum because one fear I have is that we'll have very long threads containing lots of information. While that is good, and I won't hinder natural conversation, I'd also like to have people start threads as placemarkers for the topic they bring up. For example, if someone is asking about small press publishing houses you're free to answer in that thread, but I'd appreciate if you'd either post a new thread with that as the topic or refer them to an already existing thread. Discussions will be paramount to the success of this subforum, but we also need to keep it organized so it is less time consuming for newcomers that need specific information.

That's all for now. Thanks so much for coming and I can't wait to read your posts!

Thank you so much for doing this, Tim. HW has needed this forum for a while. I forsee this being very useful!

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

I agree.

I was thinking about that, but you already have it under control. :D

Never having been a mod before, I could use some help differentiating between being too organized and allowing the flow of conversation. Makilien made an awesome post in the personal introductions thread that begs for more conversation, but I don't know if those topics should be addressed in their own thread. I'm thinking I'll let it play out, and then if I see a separate topic worth it's own thread becomes a focal point of the thread, then I'll ask that they move the conversation to a new one. Who is the mod for this area? I'd like to work closely with them on this subforum. I'll try and keep up, but I'm sure I'll need help once it takes off.

Since this is a new forum there is no mod. We need someone to take that job on. :D

Stickying this.

I think this is another room that could probably benefit from an index for easy access of existing threads.

This forum is getting popular fast!

I like what you're doing with formatting. I think it works really well. Like many of our rooms this one operates on slightly different rules from the rest of the forum. It's a little more... professional. :D

Thanks Vanya. If you do find a moderator for this forum, I'd like it to be like a coach to help me be the mod, and fill in if I'm not able. This is a good opportunity for me to learn and I'm having fun organizing it.

And I'm also very excited to see it growing and the awesome contributions we've had already.

Haha, cool. We'll have to find a pretty good mod then. :D

Haha, are you saying I need an extra good teacher because I'm slow ;) Actually, I can't disagree on that...Especially now that I've posted my goals for May-Aug 11, I'm really going to be busy...

Very funny.

It seems Reiyen has volunteered. If you step into the planning room I think we're mostly discussing it in there...
