Hello Holy Worlds! (And all affiliated folks)

Name: Evenstar (Eve or Star for a nickname, but still undecided  )
*Decided now: Dawn (you know, total opposite, easiest thing to remember in the world!*

Random bits, pieces, details, dropped stitches about my life:
~ I love frozen corn for snack. :o
~ I've been writing the same story for...let me think a second...six years. And it's, well, still a work in progress, let's just say.
~ I love writing poetry too, especially about places I've been and memories I have.
~ I've lived in over 12 houses in my life, and next month I'm about to make my fifth or sixth transcontinental move (I've been back and forth a lot). In case you're wondering, it's not nearly as wonderful as it sounds to literally travel around the world.
~ In my current story (not the 6-year one, just a 1-year side story that's kind of related somehow, or at least I like to pretend it is when I get queer guilty feelings), the main character is a maiden of the name of Aravis. In the other story, the heroine is named Memory (favorite. name. EVER!).
~ One of the scariest moments in my life was being in Japan during the earthquake last month. (Yes, I see jaws dropping. I'm not there any more. But I lived the vast majority of my life in that dearly beloved country.)

Ok, well, that's quite enough beans spilled for the moment. I hope you've enjoyed this strangely curious introduction!

Evenstar

P.S. I dare someone to try to guess my real name. You never will, let me just tell you right off. But here's a hint: it's 7 letters and the most lovely name in the universe.

*Oh yeah, and you've probably noticed this, but I haven't gotten around to creating a hideously hilarious signature yet. So be on the lookout. You never know what strange or serious secrets may be concealed within!*

Hullo Evenstar! Welcome, welcome, welcome! :D Glad to meet a new member of HolyWorlds! I'm sure you'll love it here. I love your username! I'm BushMaid, I'm from Australia, so if you see someone nicknamed "Aussie" it is me. :D *doffs hat, shakes hand* Pleasure to make your acquaintance!

*breaks open a bag of yellow glitter to welcome the arrival of a new member*

Hehe! Hello and welcome to HW! My favourite saying is hehe so that's why I started with it, it seemed to be fitting!

Wow I thank the Lord He kept you safe in Japan!

 12 houses is a lot of moving around!

It is lovely when you like your name! My sister hates her second name and won't let anyone call her it!

Hmm I'm gonna say Lobelia or Melissa. :)

*Showers glitter in thread and disappears*

I'm the magical elven Bethy that's going to come in, throw tacos, then find it impossible to keep up with this thread. ;) So...

*throws tacos in the air* Welcome Evenstar, to the best writing forum ever! If you last through the introduction insanity thread then you'll pretty much be able to make it through anything else we throw, fly, scream, glomp, tackle, hug, write, sing, and blow up. :dieshappy:

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Star! (I think we'll have to go with Star, since we already have one Eve over here. :D)

And ditto to Faith: if you can survive an HW intro thread (which may or may not include glitter bombs, exploding dragons, and cupcakes.) you can survive anything! :D

You love frozen corn? Me too!

Well, I feel supremely welcomed, so thanks bushels of glitter to everyone throwing it around already! (And yes, I am now officially signature-ized, if you were wondering)

Bushmaid - Australia, really? I'm actually rather close to you now :) . Only about a 7-hour plane flight! (In my world, that's exceptionally close.) Pleasure to meet you too! I've been reading some of your posts, and laughing my socks off half the time too, so I feel like I already know you halfway.

Lady Elanor - heehee, thanks! I don't suppose you've ever read George MacDonald's "The Light Princess"? The wicked witch in that one raises up a storm of protest since she'd been interrupted after only "haha" and "hehe," without "hoho". Reminds me of someone around here  ! And my-goodness-gracious-me, LOBELIA??? You have got to be kidding me... *gags spectacularly*. Bilbo would be furious. Melissa? Not quite there yet :D

Jonathan - Thanks for the welcome! Glad to fit in :)

Bethy - hm, I may pass on those tacos (cheese ... *shudders*), but thanks for the magical food-filled welcoming message! And nice verbage too :) . I'm packing my adventure kit - got to be sure to grab some rope, of course! And I'm looking out for the "blow up" ones - should be quite exciting!

Princess of the King (sorry, I'm a little lost in the double-name thing here!) - thanks for the welcome! Oooh, exploding dragons? I'm starting to look forward to this more than summer vacation!

And for everyone's information, I've decided Dawn can be my unofficial nickname (makes so much sense, right?). Easy to remember - just take Evenstar and "strike that; reverse it."

*felt instant kinship with Star before, but now falls in love even more * No way! Are you a military brat? I ask because I grew up one, so I moved yearly all my younger life and was stationed over in Okinawa Japan :D We have lots to talk about ;)

If you love poetry, Star, then you may be interested in the HW Poetry project that we are undertaking. It isn’t quite up and off the ground yet, but I will be sure to let you know when it is! Welcome, fair friend! *anoints with glitter *

Lizzie and I are dragon sitting George, so once I'm done feeding him, I'll let him come give a grand performance and burn in that glitter for you, Villi ;)

Hey, Star! Glad you joined us. Welcome!

I'm afraid I left the glitter in my other cloak. Hmm... perhaps this will make up for it. *strings up big sign that reads in Elvish: Gîl síla na lû govaded* :D

Wait, a seven letter name that's absolutely lovely. Sounds a bit like mine! (I also like my name and it's unique spelling.)

*walks in wearing (glittery) dragon rider overalls* George is fed, and-oh! Here come the penguins.

*five glittery penguins slide in and proceed to serve the punch*

There. Welcome, evenstar! Yes! Another person who enjoys frozen corn! And who doesn't really enjoy cheese! I'm not alone! *hugs* Hrm.

Anywho, I'm Shawn, the sister (in Christ) of Airianna. I'm glad you joined! *sprinkles glitter*

Evenstar! Welcome! I think you are one of those who will fit right in here, considering you are not fazed by the glitter. I survived my introduction thread by holding a potluck lunch and serving everybody muffins.
Speaking of muffins, I brought some for you. *hands you a basket* Chocolate chip. And I brought enough to share.
Watch out for George the Fireworks Dragon. He has an explosive personality.

P.S. Your signature is wonderful.

Well, Aemi, some people say I have an explosive personality, but I'm not scary, am I?

*glances around at the confusion* Yep, another day in the intro threads. :D

Welcome, Dawn! Love how you reversed the name, that was great.

I second Airianna's question about being a military kid; I'm currently one myself, but never went anywhere more exciting than Europe. :P
What was it like in Japan? (before the earthquake) I've heard it's one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your sparkling personality around the forums. :D

Greetings, Star. Welcome to the oddest and most random collection of people ever. You've already met Bush, and now Airi, so you have most of the curiosity behind you. We'll be sure to add your traveling self to one of those people we brag about. So if you've traveled so much, how many languages do you speak/understand? [We're all required to speak British English around here... at least according to the UCP ;) ]

Well, I see the welcoming party is well underway! Good job on that, crew. :D Evenstar, beloved new friend, just from reading your delightful introduction (for it was delightful), I can say you'll fit in around here top-notch! Yes, indeed. Have a cupcake, if you like. If you don't, just leave them on the table - Jonathan Garner will take care of the leftovers. ;)

I've moved a lot as well, but not nearly as much or as far! :D Moving isn't fun, really. :P I, too, have a book that's been going for several years. It's my "masterpiece" that has survived a lot of changes in my life, and it's even been deleted and buried for two years during its lifespan! One day I'll make sense of it, by God's grace. :D Memory is a great name!

For Airi, Ceila Rose, and anyone else who may be curious, I'm definitely not a military brat, nope. (And seriously, Europe, Celia Rose? My sister would die to go there! Amazingness!) But I *do* happen to be a missionary :D !

Airi - Again, thanks for a cozy welcome! And ooh, a poetry project? Definitely!

Villisse - Thanks for the punch and ice cream! I think the chocolate chip cookie dough flavor is disappearing just about now :) .

Celestria - And arigato for the welcome! Elvish? Very nice! Your lack of glitter is officially pardoned. Seven letter names are the absolute best, in my oh-so-(not-very)-humble opinion!

Shawn - ah, the wonder of custom-made glitter-sprinkled flame-resistant dragon rider overalls! I prefer Converse to NorthStar myself, but of course each rider has his/her own preferences ;) . Oh!! I am astounded - bewildered - amazed - enchanted - I think we'll be best friends! You love frozen corn? And not cheese? *double hugs* The joy of kindred spirits!

Aemi - cupcakes? Delighted, thanks! Chocolate chip, my favorite :) . Ggglllittteeerrr! *stumbles around and crashes into plate of cupcakes* I think I'm fazed!

George the Fireworks Dragon - explosive, sweet, lovable? I think I shall enjoy meeting you! *slides into special dragonproof water-resistant cloak* I'm ready!

Leandra - Lovely name! And thanks bunches of glitter for the welcome :)

Ciela Rose - Again, what gorgeous names y'all have! Japan is an amazing country in many ways. Everyone is hospitable and kind, and the nature is beautiful. Up north, where I was visiting, the snow was the worst in 10 years. It was piled up past the top of many doors. Snowplows were in full force. I think it should be melting by now, though. And the cherry blossoms are like stepping into an elvish fairy magic kingdom, without any of the evil stuff. They're really something from a dream! *sighs wistfully*

Reiyen - And greetings to you also! Oh, and you have my permission to brag about me all you wish :D . I'll enjoy the attention immensely, I'm sure! I speak two languages - Japanese and English - and I am learning Greek (Attic/classical). And I'm learning Singlish (unofficial language of Singapore), which includes an ample dosage of British English and Mandarin/Hokkien Chinese. Cheerio, then!

Philadelphia - More cupcakes! I'm delighted, pleasure's all mine, definitely! I believe I shall leave a few for Jonathan Garner, though... he looked so wistful... *delicately nibbles at a pink-and-blue-swirled cupcake, then arranges six on the table in a star/flower-shape. They taste better that way!* And wow, sounds like that manuscript has been through a lot!

*sneakily grabs back the cupcakes and stuffs them all into the secret pocket of my second-best cloak. Adjusts tiara. Twitches back elvish ears to make sure no one's listening, mutters the password, and vanishes into glittery not-so-thin air*

Oooo! You speak Japanese? If I could learn two languages fluently besides English it would be Sign Language and Japanese...and maybe Hebrew. :D I only know little phrases and such in Japanese because of anime...*blush* (So I knew what arigato meant.) *grin* At least I can pronounce several words correctly. ;)

I would looove to visit Japan someday. ^3^ (Even though I don't really like Japanese food...) I still think it'd be fun to go!

I've only moved 6 times and that's enough for me. I don't really like change. I'm sort of a stick in the mud when it comes to that. Unfortunately, I know the Lord will lead me onwards, and I'll need to move again and again in the future I'm sure. I hope my next move won't be for another couple years once I finish community college. (I'll board at home and pay rent for that since it's in town.)

Well, I'm glad to see you're getting a proper welcome here on HW. You're thread is taking off on fire!

Quite a jubilee of food, huh? I'll add onigiri to that. ;D That's on my list to try someday. ^^

Blessings,

~Calen

Yes! *loves it when people like the same food* Maple syrup, anyone? :D

My family is backwards. We like the cheap fake-maple syrup best... :D

And I love, love cheese. :D Never tried frozen corn...

Oooo! I was driving home from work tonight and thought of a nickname for you, Evenstar! Instead of just Star, what about Estar? :D

*gulps nervously at the mountain of text to be replied to*

Raven of the Wood - Much thanks for you kind welcome! I love rose petals :)

Aw, Jonathan... thanks for the compliment! And, don't worry, I didn't actually end up gobbling all of them. *places huge - colossal - gigantaur - cupcake on table* Here you go!

Shawn - maple syrup? Totally! I never ever used to be able to eat it when I was in Japan. It's still pretty expensive here, too. *slurp*

Philli - I can only say, I deeply pity your love of cheese and *gasp* second-rate syrup! But in opposite world, pity becomes total awe, so apparently I am in awe of your food choices :dieshappy: ! {try puzzling that one out!}

Calen - Oooh, onigiri! Gotta love 'em - really now, Japanese food is *the* best. Ever. *gobbles up every single onigiri, except the fish ones, because I'm vegetarian, so I don't eat fish* And thanks for your inventiveness! I like it! Estar, hm? Sounds very LotR-ish. Ok, heads up, I am now answering to: Evenstar, Dawn, Star, or Estar. *files all names frantically in the back of my everything notebook*

Thanks again everyone!

Yay for onigiri! (Also known as rice balls for those who are staring at us like we're crazy. Check out the picture below.) ;) I love rice, I should just pop something delicious in the middle. I don't like vinegar so I would put anything picked in the center like you would traditionally. I've never tried seaweed before so that would also be a new experience.

I'm sorry, I love all the food groups, but I respect your decision. :D I know a few vegetarians myself. ^^

Yay! So glad you like the name Estar! HA! My first copyrighted nickname on the forum! :D <3

And the Penguin King saves the day once more! :D

Wow, Star, I'm impressed with the individual answers.

*sighs wistfully as well* I've would love to visit Japan . . . most people in the Navy end up stationed there, but I'm Army instead . . .
It's awesome that you're on the mission field. What's your work like?

(Yep, I was stationed in Europe. It's like the US, except everyone speaks different languages. ;) )

What is your main WIP about? (Sorry if you've already answered that; I haven't read the other posts) I love the character names you mentioned!
Moving does stink.... I have to ask; how was Japan? I think it might be fun to visit someday.

Ah, Calen, those onigiri pictures definitely made my day  They look exactly the way the best homemade ones look!! Japanese rice is unbeatable!! Speaking of nicknames, may I pleese pleese PLEESE call you Miri?? I've longed my whole life to know someone of that name, and *poof* there you are, with just the right name! I will also be satisfied with Miriel if you prefer :D .

Jonathan - *sniffles into a penguin* Thannn--nn-kk you *sniff* *slurps syrup* Lord of the Penguins, you are hereby saluted with syrup.

Arias - Thanks for the welcome! I have two WIPs that I'm hoping will someday merge into each other somehow, so I don't have to make up two completely unrelated worlds. One's called Verai, and it's about a girl from our world, Memory, and her cousin, Connor, who land in another place that's controlled by a Shadow/shadows. It has a lot of fire. The other one is entitled Erianess (I'm fond of one-word titles, y'see), and it's about the guardian of the land, the Erianess, who travels to retrieve a the World-Book that's been stolen. It has a very complex backstory and I'm still trying to figure out how to weave in the complex net of disguises, former friendships, betrayals, and long-lost twins that populate its pages.

And then Japan? Better ask me in a pm, otherwise this thread is going to get filled REALLY quickly. (When I visited a week last month, my journal got filled almost a quarter of the way through.)

Celia Rose - seriously, my sister would give a *lot* to be sent to Europe! (Entering the military? Maybe not so much :) - she's more into fashion) I'm more of an Asia gal myself. My family's mission work used to be focused on planting churches and teaching English in Japan, but it's now more of training local pastors from all over various parts of Asia. I would like to go into Bible translation myself.

And I think that (hopefully) covers everything!

Welcome, Evenstar! I'm sorry my welcome is a bit late, but...welcome! :D

Just so ya know, I'm the Eve Abby mentioned a few pages back. I'm also George's owner. Shawn has been dragon-sitting for me since I was away from HW for a few days. Speaking of which, I'll let Shawn do the honors and write George's welcome explosion. (It's so much work to sit down, write the scene, realize that it's identical to one you wrote a few welcomes ago, pull out the thesaurus, change a few words, blah blah blah...maybe Shawn can bring some originality to the whole thing. :))

So, Evenstar, what kinds of things do you like to do (besides writing)? You said on your profile that you couldn't fit all of your interests in the box. You have more space here now. ;)

Estar, you have my permission to call me Miri if thou wisheth. :D I've mainly just gone with Calen here for obvious reasons. One nickname suggestion was Callie, but I know someone named Callie, so that would have been strange for me. ^^;;

P.S. Glad you like the picture!
