Do you think you can beat him?

Elanhil is the only HW character who was able to defeat Sir Emeth's 'invincible' Kimun. However, since he is leaving Character intro's because he is developed enough, he'll be in here for you to duel. :) (ML's, if this thread is not close enough in the guidelines, please remove it.) :)

Elanhil: *Eagerly awaits and sharpens his sword*

*Picks carefully from list of Dramatis Personae.

Rayden?

Bris?

Wrasse?

Jackal?

Firch?

Whip?

Monger?

Shvine?

Ander?

Greig?

Brevius?

Almric?

Rayden is by far the most developed, but is currently engaged in a duel with Gregory... Therefore my pick would be.... Bris! (Ding ding ding)

Bris saunters into the arena, Tears from his ancient weapon spattering the dusty earth. Spying Elanhil, Mourning Star falls from his shoulder to crack the pave stones of the ancient arena of Character Combat. All nine feet of him bulging with supernatural strength, betraying his half demon heritage.

Thick leather gloves pop and strain as the grip about his weapon tightens.
His heavy leather armor, glistening with a fresh rubbing of oil and a smile of Competition on his lips, the bandit prince challenges his foe, "Elanhil! There is still time to back down before you taste the tears of Mourning Star."

Elanhil: *eyes narrow and he looks up at Bris* Bris, declare your cobha.

*Grip tightens, a small puddle has formed beneath the great steel head of Mourning Star.

Bris: "My Cobha: Magic is an evil force, gifted by the Dark one to those with a desire to make his black will manifest on The Bright One's creation. Demonic taint runs through my blood, granted to me by my great etc. Grandfather, Dreadmonger. The Bright one is my ally, with whom I need no other."

*Raises Mourning Star* "Aquaris Leviton, Dynornis!" *The eternal tears from the ancient weapon flow upward about the great tines, only to crackle to life in a ball of glowing electricity, arcing from tine to tine. A slight wince touches his face from the strength sapped from him at unleashing his Glithis Niktal. "My Glithis, granted by my God is the only power lawfully used by his people."

*Crackling weapon readied. Bris issues a fearsome bellow* "Elanhil, Declare your Cobha!"

Elanhil:  Um, I don't have anything special, just that I'm great at sword-fighting. You can have your tears, but I'd rather you left out your demonic powers...that'd set off the balance...

Bris gives a smile: "Demonic powers I have not, only the inherited strength." Lightning winks out. "Lets make this fair." *Mourning Star is leaned against the nearby wall. Bris flips the catches within his thick gloves, causing the knobby spikes completely covering them to pop out."

"We need not kill each other, just test our mettle and metal"

Bris closes with wide roundhouse aim toward Elanhil's head. Hard, but not so hard as to kill.

Bris gives an  , the obvious feint fallen for.

A short click is heard. The knobs on his left glove disappear back into their holes as his thick leather glove slams hard into Elanhil's sternum.

Elanhil: *drops flat to the ground and rolls towards Bris, hopefully knocking him off balance. He springs up on the other side, and thrusts at the either stumbled or fallen Bris*

Bris takes a hurried step to the left, staggering from the suddenness of the move. A sharp pain pierces his side, causing Elanhil's sword to be covered in blood.

A step taken back as he observes the blood soaking his glove: "Well, that was unexpected." Flips the catch in his glove and with a roar leaps back into the fray, swinging wildly in a flurry of attacks.

Elanhil: *works hard to fend off or dodge most of them, but is nicked several times. Finally he is hit full force in the left shoulder and is sent flying backwards*

With a roar Bris drops to all fours, hammering his fists into the ground, using the spikes for traction he gallops toward the bouncing form of Elanhil.

Elanhil: *Jumps up in a neat back-flip, and slashes downwards at Bris' face* A lot less scary when you're on all fours...

Bris: *leaping after his flipping target and parrying the slash, grips him by both arms and lands Elanhil first pinning him to the ground with his greater weight* "How about on top of you?" *Holds down right sword arm with left hand and raises spiked fist. "Surrender?"

Elanhil: *Curls into a ball before Bris can get on top of him and kicks upward at Bris' face, then rolls sideways springing up in the guard position* I think I'll wait a bit more...

Me: If that's unclear tell me...

Though rolling away, it wasn't far enough to escape Bris's springing tackle. Slamming the sword with his fist out of the guard and uselessly wide, Bris grabs Elanhil's ankle from the crouch he landed in and with his thick gloves and a great lurch spins and flings him high and wide across the arena. But being a kind hearted fellow, won't (Just yet) fling him into a wall.

Elanhil: *The sword is flung wide from his grasp, and immediately he leaps several steps back, avoiding Bris' grab, and sprints wildly towards his sword.*

Me: I'm following the general rule, 'the bigger the slower' here, if it isn't the case with Bris let me know...

I'd like to think so. But if sending him across the arena to land in a pulpy mess isn't your idea of a good time then how bout this:

Bris: "Run while you can" *focuses on skittering sword* "Geomag Verbolen!"
the bandit prince is brought to his knees as his strength is siphoned away. The sword shatters into a million glittering fragments. Bris sits on the cracked pavestone of the arena floor "You fight well Elanhil, but have we not yet proven that neither of our authors is going to give up? Why should we kill ourselves just so they can have a good laugh?" :D

"Sure, I don't want to unleash anything that would kill me, you, level the arena and blow a hole in the forum. Cause if that's what it takes to win I'll do it. But sure, Truce and I'll go back to Kellendross. There's a story waiting for me. We have to prove a convicted murderer's innocence."

Elanhil: *face contorts into a dis-appointed expression* Fine... I'll accept. It was a good battle. I enjoyed it.

Me: Wow. Normally he'd almost rather be defeated than have to come to terms... but that's ok.

Bris: "If you want to keep going" *Snaps fingers*

Wrasse appears atop the arena wall, an arrow knocked on his bow.

Bris shrugs: "I'm a bandit. I can't stand things being too fair. But good fight, the time has come for me to return, lets do this again sometime, but next time I'll let Rayden have a go. We'll see how you fare with him."

*Runs Past Mourning Star, snatching it up as he goes, flings it across his back and with a mighty heave leaps over the side of the Arena and out of sight.*

"Farewell!"

So, Elanhil has already fought Griffin and it ended in a stalemate of sorts, so he won't duel you. But, I am afraid, you have a new challenger. Kieren, prince and heir to the throne of Tormog. Once a merciless killer, now a man torn in two. But be forewarned, once he starts a fight he will finish it, and you have very little chance of winning.

Kieren steps forth, two long knives in sheaths hanging from his belt, a sword glowing golden in his hand.

Kieren: I am Kieren, Prince of Tormog and Warden of my father's armies. You are about to die.

Kieren has a very special ability. If far enough provoked, he goes berserk, but for him, that also means he is invincible for the duration of his rage. It takes alot for him to go berserk; a friend's death, a lost limb, or any near fatal wound; but once there, he is pretty much unbeatable, in fact, he once destroyed half an army in this state. I have never seen Elanhil back down from a challenge, so I believe he will accept this one too, but you have been warned. (evil laugh)

Me: It sort of is, isn't it, Sui?

Elanhil: *with fire in his eyes* I doubt I will taste death just yet. But first things first. No hidden weapons, just one sword. Just one blade, mind you. No more. *squeezes the hilt of his own sword, fingering the precious gems inset on the hilt. He closes his eyes and bows his head, his sword raised up in front of him, tip down-facing*

There will be no magic in this duel, just skill with a blade, and if it comes to it, one of us may have to fight with no sword, as I cannot for-see any one of us giving up when the sword is flung wide. But I too must warn you. I have fought legions with just my armor-bearer, and I have felled many men in single combat.

*Elanhil raises his sword so that the tip faces upwards, and then backs it down into the guard position* I am prepared for anything that you may offer, as it falls within my guidelines. I will bend to any additional stakes you raise, but be warned now. I have never been bested with a blade.

A bit of a stretch but still ironic. :)

Kieren: (laughs at Elanhil's threats) I have never been bested either. Let it begin. (draws his sword, and, rushing toward Elanhil, swings at Elanhil's right side)

Kieren: (Elanhil fell for the feint, but at the last moment Kieren spins the other way slicing at Elanhil's midsection on his left side.)

Me: Oh, sneaky!

Elanhil: *while Griffin spins Elanhil moves the blade over his head, using the momentum from the sword going upwards and having nothing to hit, and brings it down across his body to the other side, flicking his blade under Griffin's, and then spinning around under it so that his right arm is closer to Griffin*

Me: If you don't understand that... :P I don't know what to do...

Me: Remember this is Kieren, not Griffin.

Kieren: (flips sideways with his sword and slides under Elanhil's blade, jumping up behind him and spinning into an upwards slash at Elanhil's back)

 Oops, I'll remember... :)

Elanhil: *tries to cut at Kieren when he slides past, but he can't get there in time, so he spins to follow him, raising his sword just in time to block the slash*

Kieren follows up the slash with a cut down and a slice at the other side.

Yeah, but Elanhil hasn't had much time on Holy Worlds so he hasn't responded yet.

*Stumbles in wearily*

Wha??

*brushes glitter ball off his torso*

Elanhil: *moves his whole body back to dodge the attack while keeping his feet in place (making the ( shape) and then bends back in with a quick thrust inwards. When the slice comes, Elanhil does the opposite and leaps in closer, pulling back on his sword so that it remains in the same spot*

Elanhil: *leaps up a little, swatting the sword down with his own blade so that it hits the ground right where and when he lands*

Elanhil: *spins to the side, swooping his blade in a wide arc so it slashes horizontally at Kieren*
