I've never seen another HWer aside from my brother, 2 cousins, and one friend who I had join up. Other than that...

Look at the bright side, Bush. Us Americans have boring accents. I wish I had some sort of accent...other than American. Australian would be cool. :cool:

Elanhil, American accents would be the last thing on earth that kept me away from a HW convention. :roll:

You could always try practising an Aussie accent! Go on YouTube or something, and find someone in Australia who is talking.

We get enough practise of how to speak American accents by watching movies.

I think mom has a calendar on Yahoo! that she's using to compile dates. It's not very recent though. I'll have to tell her to get on it.

Convention Planning Calendar

If you see that I missed a day you cannot be there please let me know.
I'll be picking some tentative dates and starting another poll
to see which one will work best in the next week or so.
In deference to those of you who will be traveling long distances to reach us I will consider a two day set up.

I'm not even sure if I'll be able to go, since I haven't asked yet (which I will do, as soon as a date is set), but I know the third full week in July (I think?) and a week in June (second or third, I think) are both no for me. Other than that I'm not sure. Depends on when youth trips are.

As for places to meet up... there's always the zoo, if you don't care that it isn't writer-ish =P (though, I don't know how crowded it'd be)

That way we can mark them off and plan it for a day when you can be there.

After I get those dates I will do round two of the polls.

This time I will be including specific dates in each month
so we can further narrow down our choices
to the day/days when the most ppl will be able to attend.

Okay, so I just found out about this today (!!) and since we live just outside of St. Louis, we'll definitely be there if at all possible.

In fact, our whole family would like to come. My wife helps me write, my two daughters write, and my son helps out with plot and is a friend of Jay Lauser. Here are the dates that would *not* work for us. (Yes, we have a busy summer.)

May 1-9th
May 23-31st (May is bad in general)
June 1-5
June 11-12
August 20-31
