Has anyone here gone Infiltrating before?

Reading Aemi's post in the Describing Game thread reminded me of it.

Basically it's going places you're really not supposed to, whether it's across a fence in the woods, entering "Employees only" Areas, or my favorite:

Storm draining.

Wandering through the dank dark tunnels, the glow of your flashlight reflecting off the water pooled at the bottom, revealing crayfish, small frogs and other subterranean creatures. Your every step echoing away down the long tunnels. A sturdy club, or large knife in hand should you encounter large rats or even Hobos (Do not hurt the hobos).

One problem with storm draining, in some cities it is incredibly dangerous cause of gang activity. Do not attempt EVER! In smaller towns it's okay.

Well, I have gone inside a large drain pipe before...It was a tunnel for a drainage ditch, under a park walking trail. Just a straight, simple tunnel, with a trickle of water. Absolutely nothing dangerous about it.
But I felt scared, and horribly guilty. I was sure I was breaking some unknown law, and was going to get caught and bring disgrace upon my family. I went a few feet inside the pipe and then turned around and crawled out. :( But if I knew I wouldn't get in trouble, I would LOVE to do something like that.

When it comes to storm drains it is perfectly legal. Just use caution and common sense. Abandoned buildings are fun too.

I think if you got into one on private land it would be trespassing. But on public land it's fine. I've never gone into one for fun but have done it many a time as part of my job.

(I once had to open a man hole that was 50 feet deep. )

That sounds totally cool. I've never done it, but I've wanted to.

I'm actually concocting an elaborate scheme that I'm hoping to put into action this summer that involves entry to a cave through a drain system. We had all sorts of difficulty with parking in an inconspicuous area, etc. Now we're kind of waiting for it to warm up. (Caving in KY always involves getting wet.)

I love going into abandoned buildings, but there aren't very many in the country and the ones in town are privately owned and... in town. Where I always have a schedule that doesn't allow for poking around in what look like two hundred year old mansions. (Brick, outbuildings, oldest street in town, multiple chimneys..."

I wish I had your job, Joe. :D

I dig tunnels, that's my creeping adventure. My first tunnel is only a few feet long right now, but I'm getting pretty industrious with it. Once I get it really deep it should start getting easier. Right now it is a crawl tunnel located just a under a foot below the surface, but with a wooden roof so that anyone could walk over it and never know it.

I LOVE tunnels.
Has anyone ever gotten to dig a tunnel in snow? (I haven't. I'm a Texas girl.)

Snow tunnels are fun, they taught me some of my dirt tunneling tricks, but dirt/clay is a lot harder. You need a lot of snow to make good tunnels, generally wherever it piles after they plow it off the roads. And then it all just goes and melts :(
