I don't have one. :(

Well, not just one. I had lots of trees over the years. :D

Trees are great friends, aren't they? :D I know of plenty around our house that have kept me company for much of my life. :)

His genuine smile held no fear.

The moonlight was her only light.

The sun dawned: the final day.

His mind frantically grasped at reality.

It moved; but she didn't see it.

The painful cry echoed, then died.

Personally, rocks have always been better friends for me :P

I loved the coffin one Jonathan - they really did fit together well =D

This is a six word story:
BushMaid wrote:

Well, I wouldn't say they were my friends. More like my forts. :D

Some tree related six word stories:

The tree witnessed love and war.

It was the oldest living tree.

He hid in the tree's branches.

No. :P I tried.

I like rocks better because you can sit on them and mine in particular is off in the middle of the creek. So it's a good place to sit and think =)

That makes sense. :D

Some rock related six word stories:

Jesus, arisen, rolled the stone away.

One rock took down the giant.

Water began pouring from the rock.

The house on the rock endured.

I like that one, Eruheran. :) For a second when you said rocks I thought you meant pebble sized ones so I was like  they can be friends? But now I see you mean big huge rocks. :D And I agree- only we don't have any rocks bigger then a pebble where I live, so I'll stick to trees. :D

Here are my attempts.

I jumped, but not far enough.

Walk the wire over Grand Canyon.

Where did they bury the survivors?

Every breath a grace from God.

Yes, my parents are still married.

Help me, Lord of my salvation.

Where did they bury the survivors... I love that joke!

Living a life not his own.

The not knowing was a torture.

What they didn't expect, just happened.

My dad told me that joke. ;)

Here's the whole thing:

If a plane crash landed exactly on the border between [two countries or two states], where would they bury the survivors?

Ask it to a friend sometime. See how long it takes him to figure it out.

How can I make a friend figure it out if I can't? :? Maybe I'm just not thinking about it like I should be...

Y'all are still going to town over here! So many good sentences/stories! :D I like all of the Bible ones...

Robert Frost is one of my favorite poets, but that sentence also reminds me of Jerico or Jerusalem, Varon.

Aemi, this one is my favorite: "I jumped, but not far enough."

I finally got a chance to write more of these, instead of just reading yours! :D I think the last one is best of the three...

One twin taken; the other left.

We should start a thread on something like that, and call it "How Do I Look?" :D For so many people with awesome imaginations, they must have some pretty cool ideas of what we all look like.

@Philly: Wow, I like the last one, a lot.

*cough* Here's another six word story...

Rocks fall. Everyone dies. The end.

 (I just hope I'm not the only one who's heard of the joke ending "rocks fall and everybody dies"...)

*cough* Here's another six word story...

Rocks fall. Everyone dies. The end.

 (I just hope I'm not the only one who's heard of the joke ending "rocks fall and everybody dies"...)

*laughing* I've never heard that before but it's kinda funny in a sadistic sort of way. :D

Movie based Hemingways:

Falling, the woman transformed into hawk. (Ladyhawke)

The robot gazed with lifeless eyes. (Wall-E)

He thought it only a fish. (Finding Nemo)

The treasure was not there anymore. (National Treasure)

Finally, someone else who's seen Ladyhawke! :D

Here is The Lord of the Rings (book and movies) in six words:

One ring to rule them all.

You've seen "Ladyhawke"?!?! Finally is right! I only know one other person who has seen it and liked it, and that was someone on the young nanowrimo! I love that movie! It's one of my favourites!

*cough* sorry. Rant over.

Ladyhawke is a good fantasy movie. :D That apparently hardly anyone has seen.

Here is Ladyhawke in six words:

The eclipse could break the curse.

I love the sword fight scene at the end in the church. The sound effects, especially the horses shod feet were fantastic. I think I got an idea for a sword fight scene for my own novel from there...

Apparently is right. I ask people if they've seen it and I get a blank stare. When I narrate the storyline, I get a  which is a bit disappointing. :? I also love how Phillipe is always talking to the Lord. :D It reminds me of myself at times.

Awesome. :D Some more:

He dodged the blade in time.

The hawk received a fatal shot.

The bishop was a crooked man.

You're welcome (and also amazing. ;) )

Well, thank you, sir. :D

I am in full support of the Pixar 6-word summaries. ;)

Joining in the thread derail for a moment... Jonathan recommended Ladyhawke to me, and one of these days I will get around to looking it up at the library. :D
