Y'know, I just had one of those brilliant flashes of insight that sometimes overcome me... :rofl:

So, I had the thought that smilies are kind of like "opposite curses." Stick with me here, folks! Y'see, there could be better ways to express ourselves {thus the wisdom of the 7-smilie limit}, yet they're very expressive for what they are. At the same time, they're generally quite good expressions filled with clean and appropriate humor, rather than the filthy humor of cursing.

Now how's that for a strange connection?! :shock:
