I... don't get down here very much. So I decided to write a welcoming speech, so that all newcomers could be welcomed by me without me having to pay attention to all the threads. Here it is:

Welcome fellow traveler
To a world both wide and new
We’re crazy here and know it
And we hope you’re crazy too.

We hope you’ll find the answers
To a million questions strange
We hope you’ll find encouragement
And not think us deranged.

We have glitter and we’ve dragons
We have carrots and we’ve rings
We have five different colors
For the administration thing

We have a lot of inside jokes
But don’t you feel left out
For when you are the inside joke
You’ll know what it’s about.

We’ve characters always on the prowl
And LotR* jokes abound
We’ve a chat room that is always full
And where help can be found.

Dragons, elves, and large world maps
Writing good and bad
Editors and friendly help
All is to be had.

Character introductions are
The greatest mess of all
But there are tidy and quiet places
In the scholar’s hall

The courtyard’s loud and busy
And this is where you are
Standing to be welcomed
By sundry one and all.

So, welcome, fellow traveler.
And please enjoy your stay
This is the land of Holy Worlds
Where writers live and play.

*must be pronounced LOT-er.

I imagine most people who read that will feel welcomed. :D

Shouldn't it be a sticky thread, then?

I thought it would be tacky to suggest to sticky my own work. The moderator in me thinks that would be appropriate, but I don't know. *shrug*

I think it works perfectly as a sticky. It's like a general welcome. Adds warmth to the HW atmosphere.

Yup, sticky material.

You are brilliantly hilarious, m'dear. (Or is it hilariously brilliant?) Fantastical poem. :D

Thank you all. This forum has gotten more poems out of me than any other group except for the Bowling Green Youth Symphony. They got over 16, drawn from two years of notes. Maybe when I've been around here for two years you'll have as many.

Ya'll never cease to surprise and entertain me. My poetry is only an expression of that. :D

We've already had close to that many. I can think of at least five off the top of my head and I'm sure there's more.

I just noticed you hyperlinked some of the words to the appropriate forums. That's great.

Holy Worlds is a welcoming place! You have a lot to be grateful for! I hope to get involved in some topics and make friends with some new-found brothers and sisters.

I'm new and the user Celestria said that perhaps I would enjoy the site. From what I can already see, it appears to be one of the better choices from other sites that I've signed up for. Looking forward to seeing what there is on here.

You start a new topic/thread in this room here, Dragon, introducing yourself to the forum. :)
