 This paragraph is indented.

This paragraph is NOT indented. (It's flush with the left margin.)

In Word and other applications, you usually indent by hitting "tab." It shoves the first line of a paragraph over and makes things easier to read. In your average book, all of the paragraphs are indented. :D

Indenting is something that's oft-missed on the forums. In fact, indents can be added to your posts. To add an indent to a story, or an essence map, or whatever, add the following code:

Code:
[e]emsp[/e]

This will add one indent to your post. To add two just add the code twice. :)

What is to indent and what would one use this code for? Sorry if I sound dumb. :P

Ooh I wish I had seen this earlier! I can't tell you how many times I've pressed tab... only to find it not working and remembering it doesn't work... ;)

Just a note: For some reason, indenting is not working at the moment...

  <-- double indent...

Oddity... it's working again for me, but for a while it kept showing "o"s instead of indenting o.O
