when you take a standardized test and only think about constellations through most of it.

when you search specifically for paper NOT designed to avoid fading because that classic yellow look is what you hope for.

when you listen to/read C.S. Lewis as prep for writing any form of essay.

You nearly get a concussion and your first thought is "I need to write about how bad this hurts when it happens to my MC".

Yes, I have. :D

-You get a Kindle for your birthday
-You are furious that there are virtually no free Christian fantasy books on there
-You plan on buying some of them anyways
-Your Kindle case looks epic
-You also bought a dagger for your birthday. A real dagger. Shiny...

Mine does too but all the stuff on it has crazy typos. I prefer paper. I don't have a dagger but I have knives. I should get a dagger.

Yup. And I got my literature books this week for free! :D

-You buy a book on how to throw daggers (not on the Kindle :P )
-You half do this to defend yourself from your MC ;)

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when you think it would be really really cool to have a courtyard.

I think I just spent two hours reading these. I've definitely done more than one of them, but I have a few of my own I am yet to read. :D

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when...

-You want to become a doctor just so you can learn the best way to heal a sword wound.
-Your mom actually tells you the essay questions she has to grade on your school work are too long.
-You look forward to night time because you can stay awake for hours staring blankly at the moonlight streaming through your window while your mind is being flooded with new ideas for the next chapter of your book.
-You over describe even the simplest of tasks.
-You remember when you were eight writing paragraphs in your head about your day.
-Your journal is filled with explanations of whatever emotions you were in and why so you can study them for your characters.
-You took horseback riding lessons for two years, one of the reasons being just so you could now what it was like to gallop on a horse. (True story.)
-You scream "New word!" when somebody says I word you haven't heard before and you say it over and over in your head again so you can look up the definition later.
-You slip your new words in every sentence you can during the day.
-You on occasion use a word your older sister and parents don't even know the definition too. (It's hilarious when this happens)
-When you moved you begged your sister to give you the room with the small window above the big window so you could see the moon as you laid there in bed and come up with stories.
-You bring your iPod on road trips so you can have some sort of excuse to staring blankly out the car window, when really you're inventing new scenes for your book.
-You nagged your parents to get you an iPad for your birthday just so you could have an unlimited supply of a portable thing you could write any new ideas in.
-You walk around your house with your iPad so when you're inspired you can instant write it down.
-You see a spider and instead of killing it you leave it there and study it as it moves around, than you create your next villain after it...
-After you finish studying the spider you kill and it gives you a new idea for a fighting scene.
-You try really hard not to mention your book in front of your friends cause you know once you start talking about it you'll never be able to stop.
-Your laptop is filled with stories started but never finished.
-You zone out during school and picture your characters fighting in the civil war.
-Your best friend is your character.
-You got in a heated argument with you friend when she said LoTR was stupid. (Actually happened, I won!)
-While reading LoTR you try to pronounce the thing you read in elvish out loud...in public.
-While hiking you take in every detail and make the forest your in a place in your book.
-You picture the forest you're hiking in as something out of your book and there are elves hiding in the trees.
-You study all of your dads drawings for hours so you can learn how to draw, just so you can draw your characters.
-You write songs for your book and try to put them to music.
-Your heart begins to race as you read a fighting scene in your book than you sigh when you realize you need to finish writing it to find out what happens.
-Writing 15 pages worth of a story takes you one afternoon and you think it was nothing.
-You continue to write your book in the car even though you're getting nauseous from the movement.

I could probably go on forever, but I'll stop. ;)

Yah, it happened to me the other day when I found a spider in my bedroom and I made 'friends' with it. I actually kind of felt bad killing it.

when bad weather bringing lots of ice and snow and heavy winds and really cold temperatures hits. And you walk to work and then home from work in it, when you didn't really have to, so you could understand better what your characters are going through.... I did this today. ;) It was very cold and very treacherous, but also very well worth it. ;)

When you're not afraid of spiders per se, but can understand it because you've heard them snickering and seen that sneaky look in their eyes.

Yes, this is all for real. They make snickering noises.

Just Kidding. I'd never do that in real life.

Like spiders? :D

Ugh. One time someone stuck one in my hair... I screamed my head off.

Sure! Spiders make great torturers.

Don't worry, I would have screamed my head off too...If I had arachnophobia. But I don't, so...I have cowphobia, whatever that's called. *shudders* can't stand cows.

Does Shawn(character) not like spiders?

Yep. :P

Um, you might not want to read On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness then... It has toothy cows.

Nope, Aryn does.

Toothy cows - seriously? Weird. But interesting - I wonder if they like to be petted. (See where my curiosity takes me)

Anyways - you know you're a crazy fantasy writer when you find toothy cows interesting.
When you think "I'll throw on a few more legs" just to make a creature seem fantasy-ish. :D
When you sleep without covers when it's really cold in the house; just to see how your charries feel (never mind that I'm on a mattress and they're on. . .hard ground. But I wasn't brave enough to do it outside :P )

Yeah, that Tolkien knew what he was doing when he created his monstrous sized spinneret, didn't he?

Agreed, but you've got to admit, she was a cool creepy. My younger brother (the 14 year old) said she was way scarier in the book than the movies, after I let him read my copies.

(We're watching Return of the King tonight while our little brother is at a friend's house. :D Hence why Hilly's not worried because he's read the book but not seen the movie...I'll shut up now.)

Makes sense, glad I could relieve his mind a little more.

You know you are a crazy fantasy writer when you begin having withdrawals from being unable to work on your book.

Are you speaking from experience?

I know what that's like Airianna! I haven't been able to write in approximately two months.

Your heart races when you walk in to a used bookstore.
(Seriously! They had a fourteen-volume pictorial encyclopedia from 1942 for 4 dollars a book!!!! :D)

You know you're a crazy fantasy writer when you have to restart your computer three times because you were too busy writing and didn't change the OS.

(You know you're a geek when the first OS on the boot loader is Linux...)

(You know you're a geek and a crazy fantasy writer when this post actually makes sense to you.)

You have a dagger (it came today! :D) and actually plan on learning to throw it, regardless of your family's opinion of how pointless it is.

You have made a blade whisper in its scabbard, and inhaled the sound.
