What I really love about this subforum idea is that I can make this stuff up as I go along. For instance, I didn't realize until five minutes ago, that I could divide my history up into ages. Coolness.

There are four to six ages, depending on how you count. I'm inclined to go with five, but I think I'll stick to four for now, and if I get a really good reason to change it, I will.

First Age: The first age begins at the time that the race of man first encountered the race of Elloi. The mortal world was in a state of chaos at the fall of the ruling empire, and a fleeing prince was shipwrecked and astonished to find himself across the mountains, where no mortal had set foot before. This age is the age of Conrad.

Second Age:The second age is the Age of Tell. Mortal blood had mixed with the Elloi to create a race of wizards, who abused the gifts given to the immortals. Those without the power were reduced to slaves, fighting in the wizard wars. They dream of a liberator, but who can free them who has no power, and who with power would care? The mortal world was also caught up in the power struggle; mercenaries made the dangerous crossing in pursuit of the promise of rich reward.

Third Age: The passing of the second age into the third is ambiguous, but it was an acceptance of a new way of life, one constrained by law and justice. The third age was noted for the justice of their kings and the wisdom of those kings' Mages. The mortal world used this time to rest and forget the wizard wars. Civilization came to them quickly, kingdoms arose, and populations increased. The land east of the mountains was forgotten.

Fourth Age: A thousand years passed since the land-law was put into place. Like all governments it grew clumsy, and had begun to hinder the purpose it had once served. Yet decline was gradual, and no one noticed, except for one prince who's name became a curse to every man who carried the blood of the Elloi. His actions caused the suicide of the heir of Tell, and word of the magic of the Elloi began to trickle back over the mountains. Three generations later the corruption of the Lords of Elleys could no longer be ignored, when they refused the suit of the rightful heir. He broke every law Tell had written in his quest for justice and in doing so destroyed everything that they had gained. The passing of the third age was one of war and ruin.

Before the First Age: Neither world had heard of each other. The Elloi whiled away the time of their immortality, sometimes erupting into violence. The mortal world slowly grew in strength and power.

After the Fourth Age: The land was torn by war for decades before an alliance was made between the house of Ramoth-Tamara and the house of Yen. An uneasy peace settled, and eventually the two races began again to mingle, as they had at the beginning of the first age. The mountains were cleaned of the magic and mythology that dwelt there, due to frequent travel between the two worlds. A new age dawned, one without the power of the Elloi or their mages. The land of Elleys was gone, never to return.

He tried to formulate a name, to ask, but language was meaningless, and words would not come. He tried to scream but the sound got stuck in his heart, shattered into a million pieces, and scattered to the wind.

In a world without superheroes, who will stand against the forces of evil?

This is a fascinating history, filled with sorrow and yet not succumbing to despair. The ages divide it up into interesting chapters.
