:book: Self, get your nose out a book for once.

Hello, everyone! I'm Kat; Christian, fantasy and sci-fi writer, homeschooler, and happy to be here! A while back I realized I needed to have a strong writing circle of Christians, as apposed to the secular forums where I never felt like I belonged. It was during the last month I decided I would be on any secular forums that I was told about Holy Worlds. Talk about a God thing!

I've been seriously writing since I was eleven, but I was twelve before I actually learned about my craft.

Currently, I'm working on a number of short stories taking place in the same fantasy setting. Working title is the Truth Light Chronicles. I also have a few character charts and outlines referencing an untitled fantasy novel hiding in some dark corner. It shouldn't take much nudging to get me to get out the feather duster and finish it. ;)
I'm also working on a science fiction series, but we won't talk about that here.

Let's see. . . anything else you should know about me. . . oh, I abuse ellipses. And apparently smiles. And I'm a grammar Nazi.

So, that's me! Hello anyone and everyone!

Well, the Truth Light chronicles are all heavily allegorical. There are Light lands - inhabited only by those who follow the Majestic One, there are Dark lands, inhabited only by those who have submitted their mind to the Dark Prince, and Shadowed lands, inhabited by both people of Light and people of Dark. In between Dark and Light people are the Struggling - people who are tempted by Dark, do not want to succumb, but do not acknowledge the Light. The Dark Prince turns them to stone each night, but the Majestic One returns them to their form during the day to give them a change to find the Path of Light.

Diadine is the only person who follow the Majestic one in her Shadowed region, and is very lonely until she helps Mirage, a Struggler, to the Path of Light. This is the premise of the series. Together, the woman and the warrior embark on a Majestic One-sent mission to show more people in their region the Path of Light.

Lots of capital letters. :)

Right now I only have the first short story, Without Truth Light, really polished. It's very short - about 2k - so I can PM it to anyone who wants. I'm happy to share!

Haha. I do admit that I got the word "Roid" from "Droid." I was ten and trying to think of a last name for my main character. XD

Thank you everyone for your welcome! I think I've met most of you on the chat. . .
EDIT: You peeps use too many smilies. I used ONE of my own, and all the smilies from the quotes were enough to kick me over the smiley limit. *would put a smiley right here if it wouldn't kick her over smiley limit*

Oh yes. . . about nicknames:
BushMaid has trademarked Kitkat
Everyone else (so far) has called me Kat, my usual nickname
But I've been called KatROID, Kitty Kat, and Kitty. Anything works as long as it isn't ROID.
EDIT: Airi has trademarked Katty Roy.

Two copyrighted nicknames already! Things are getting competitive around here. :D

I'm resisting the urge to call you Droid, said in the tone of voice from the phone commercials. :)

Yes, I have copyrighted it. *glares at Eruheran and waits to defend her copyright*

That didn't work so well the first time I brought it up though.

So... Can I copyright Katty, or is it too close to Ari's? ;)

Well, why not add Droid to that list of nicknames? XD KathrineROID is apparently a very nickname-prone username.

Hmm. . . I think I have unearthed a running gag here. Ack, I'm sure there is a way to make a trademark symbol - like a ♥ - just not sure how. You should stick that after all your trademarked nicknames, Airi!

:P I knew (and told you) Eruheran would do that! :P

He always does that! *wonders what would happen if the predictable Eruheran didn't do what I think he would do... gasps and shudders*

That is okay, I have accepted the fact that Eruheran is... the bane of my existence? ;) He's actually my boss elsewhere (I like to say I'm freelance though) so I have to be nice to him.

Welcome once more Katty Roy. I am glad you have joined us, and love that you are jumping in so quickly. I hadn't even activated your account thirty minutes and you were already in chat!

Well, I wasn't sure if my account would be activated immediately or if I would have to wait a day. To test I went over to my email and deleted all the spam. Before I'd finished (not sure if that says something about the amount of spam I have or your promptness) both activation emails were in my box. So. I went over! And I like chats! I was exploring!

Okay, cool! I created my first personal nickname for someone on this forum! (Usually I just borrow everybody else’s nicknames…) I won’t copyright it, though the phone company might have it trademarked already. :D * imitates voice from commercial * Droid. Heehee!

I feel like finding that commercial just to see what in the world you're talking about. :?
I doubt they've copyrighted it. If anyone was going to copyright the word "Droid," it would have been Start Wars. You're safe!

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Kat! I hope you are enjoying yourself so far! What do you think about the websnow? Cool, right? I noticed it as I logged in just now. XD

I love your signature. Mainly because I couldn't resist clicking on it. Genius!

My goodness! People greet my on the second day of my being here and call it late! I hadn't been a member 36 hours yet when you two typed these. :D
Calen - Can I call you Calen? Lea's nickname is obvious, but your's. . . probably one of those peeps with four or five to your name. Anyway. Websnow! Good name. Not ESnow, eh? ;) I love it. Get's really slow if I have 7 windows up, but copes at 5.

And that's the whole POINT of my siggy! You have to click it, otherwise it isn't funny - just torture. Which is also the point. Ah, how I love pranks!

Yup, you may call me Calen. ;) That's my nickname around here. Calenmiriel can be a mouthful...or rather long to type out. ^^;; Calen is the only nickname I have around here. Except Philadelphia calls me Almond (or Almondy) and I call her Peanut. We came up with those on our own in googlechat though. ;)

Thanks! I couldn't think of what to call it. Because it can't be just snow, because it's online. :D

I got a kick out of your signature. (But I knew I was going to get it when I clicked on in.) XD

Alright then, Calen. :) Almond and Peanut. *laughs* On another forum there was a girl I called Lizard. She called me Kitty.

That's part of the fun. You see those sort of things and know it's something that's going to make you kick yourself, but you did it anyway, and kick yourself all the more since you KNEW it was a trick.

And I must confess: I click my own sig. Don't ask why. But I do it.

Hello, Elanor! We chatted earlier!

Isn’t it catchy? Now you’ll know what tone of voice I’m using every time I call you Droid. ;)

I think it's great how many people on this forum can't follow simple instructions.

I love it Kat. It just proves that when someone says 'do not press this', somehow you just think, I have to press it!

Yeah, I was telling my mom earlier that "do not open" would be a title line for a spam email. XD
