If skype, January, everyone is home because they're out of money. ;) But yeah, January is usually a fairly uneventful month.

Well, the summer wouldn't work out for me because I have camp and VBS and youth trips and stuff. Sometime in the spring, maybe? Or even January or February... there's almost nothing to do then.

We could even have more than one meet up...That would mean less people at each one, but more people in all could go. Right now Georgia or some where mid-west, like Missouri or Illinois is looking like the best option. If we find somewhere to host it, that would help us with the dates. For Eruheran and I GA would work best, so far we have Shawn, Griffin, PotK, and was there one more? For Missouri we have Airianna, Arias Myles, Evening L. Aspen...Illinois we have Villise, Willow, and Arias, and finally Kentucky seems hypothetical for everyone... So far GA looks like the best possibility, or something more central... but I like the idea of GA. :D

Kentucky will work once I have a driver's license, I think.

Illinois, Missouri would be best for us, with Kentucky as a possibility. My family doesn't travel out of state much but we might be able to make an exception. Iowa wouldn't work very well being a little far.

*is very excited*

Ohio, I can get a permit at fifteen and a half, and a license at 16, unless they changed it.

But... You're fourteen right now, aren't you? In GA I can get a permit now, and a license in a year. I guess this would be later on... Maybe I can drive there too! ^^,

I would be almost 18. If I go to a certain college, I might actually be out of state by then...

I would say that sounds good to me, but by then I don't think I'll be able to come.
Unless it was the summer of 2013, then I might be able to do that.

In three years I'll be almost 19... Depending on God's plan for me, I might be up in Illinois by then! (at Wheaton college, where I would like to go... but that's not exactly on topic. :P )

When my family drove back to California to see family we planned on stopping at the Creation Museum. They were closed for construction :'(

I would love to go there!

2013... I would be really old. :D

But, *sigh* as much as I would love to go to a convention and meet all these lovely HWers, it would be impossible for me. (even though I voted "Maybe So" :)) Probably being the only Aussie on this site, I doubt you guys would hold it down under, and flying to the US is out of the question for me.

But I guess we'll get one big convention when we all get to heaven, so I'll see all you guys there! :D

And I've started every sentence with words you never should...

Two questions... First is: Where is the creation museum? Second is: Jay, why are you using the word 'we'? I thought you were planning on not coming?

Makes sense. Hey, my mom has family near Cincinnati! That may be the deciding factor! My dad's brother and his new bride live in Michigan, this is working out great!! Three years from now I'll be 18; who knows where I'll be. Maybe college, maybe with my parents overseas, *shrugs* there's no way of knowing.

It is right on the corner of three States. :D

Would we need to get someone to host, or could we just say: "Meet at the creation museum at 9 o'clock"?

You would need a group leader to represent us to the museum, if we are going to get group passes.

If we actually do it that late, though, I will probably be married, and able to travel. Thus, I might be able to make it. :)

Speak for yourself, Airianna =) But I guess you're four years older than me =P I'm not going to be married at 19. I guess that's why you said a lot.

Right. I left room for you, Eruheran.

There are a lot of us on the forum 19 and over. So a number of us might be. Although, if you look at the number of 14-17 year olds  you guys way outrank us.

We would need someone to act as the liaison officer between HW and CM, though.

*teases* I was just teasing =P

*back to serious--nods* Right. And that would preferably be someone that at least lives fairly close and knows how to get there and all.

In three years I'll be in Aussie most likely so we should do it in the summer time when I'm not in school.

Why not host an internet convention?

All the holy worlds can conspire to get on over several weekends.

Skilled Holy Worlders can offer "workshops" about various subjects in the Village Lore Room.

Holy Worlders with questions can submit them in the Forge Room.

Discussions on various issues can be hosted in the Magic, Theology, and General World Building rooms.

Holy Worlders with highly developed stories, races, cultures, or whatever, can draft really long cool posts and put them up where appropriate.

Casual discussion can take place in the Chatroom.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

Sound familiar?

HW is a convention. So what don't we just plan a few extra special weekends where we will make an effort to be super active on HW, post really detailed and well done stuff, and be extra helpful.

Redemption is to be purchased, to have a price paid. So I was redeemed from my master sin, and from justice, which demanded my death. For He paid the price of sin by becoming sin, and met the demands of justice by dying for us.

For all men have a master. But a man cannot have two masters. For he will love one and hate the other. You cannot serve God and sin. So I die to the old, as He died, and I am resurrected to the new, as He was resurrected.

Note: Ebed is Hebrew for bondsman, Eleutheros is Greek for unrestrained (not a slave).

I think what everyone is talking about isn't necessarily to do what we usually do in real life, it's more just a fun thing to put faces to names and so on. At least, I think so. =)

XD Well I sure won't be married by then. Able to travel... probably. By then I'd be old enough to do whatever.

Lady E has been keeping me posted on this topic, but I decided to read through all 8 pages!

I had a couple of thoughts I wanted to share, some of which have already been mentioned.

1. In my opinion an organized class structured, lecture containing convention would be pretty much wasted on this bunch! Who would be able to concentrate on the lecturer when "So and So" is sitting right beside them?? I know I'd be passing notes and whispering!

2. If we were to meet at the Creation Museum I think it should be a two day event (for the same reason). We would need to meet and fellowship together the first day. Then we could enter the museum as a group the next morning, split up to do the museum with whomever, meet and eat lunch together and split up again (with whomever else) for the afternoon.

3. If possible we should combine the skype idea and the in person idea. That way those who couldn't attend in person would have opportunity to participate. Libraries and Universities are the only places I can think of with that much computer availability. (just thinking aloud I guess) Though the CM may have similar capacities. Though if you all brought your respective laptops...

4. I think (as a parent with limited desire to travel) that two (or more) meetings might be in order. I would be willing to help organize a get together in St. Louis or somewhere close. Anyone who thinks they could meet there raise your hands. :) The Creation Museum might be a possibility for us, but I would have to talk to my dh about it. A trip to St. L is close enough that I know we could go. Besides, a couple of the girls have listed MO as their only option right now.

Thoughts? Takers for the St. Louis idea?

The books or the music in which we thought the beauty was located will betray us if we trust to them; it was not in them, it only came through them, and what came through them was longing. These things—the beauty, the memory of our own past—are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshippers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited.

All the things that have deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it—tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear... We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want . . . which we shall still desire on our deathbeds . . . ~C.S. Lewis
