Hello, all.

As you know, when we decided to go back to the gallery system for avatars the issue arose concerning personal avatars; such as those made off of essence maps or for specific usernames. I am delighted to inform you that a solution has been reached concerning this issue.

There are now three folders in the gallery, big, small, and private. Avatars in the private folder are for specific people. If you have an avatar you've made for yourself or someone else has made for you, please let me or Hannah know and we'll move it in there for you. Please do not use an avatar out of the 'private' folder unless it is yours. These avatars contain specific meanings or essences for people or characters that would seem out of place being used by someone else. It's like using someone else's name in real life because you like the way it sounds.

You cannot pick an avatar out of the public folders to be made private. If you want a personal avatar we have several resident avatar makers; White Raven, Seer, and Elanhil. They have threads in the "Arts Guild" room where they take personal requests for avatars based off of specific meanings or essence maps.

Thank you so much for your consideration in this area and I hope this clears up any remaining avatar issues. If you have any questions, please post here.

Can my Phoenix Mark count as a private avatar? No one here made it for me but it's from my book so if it's possible that would be nice. :)

If you have a special avatar that you made particularly for you, you can request for it to be moved to the Private gallery for your exclusive use. That is alright. :)

Could 'the pen is greater than the sword' avvy that I made be moved over? I'm not using it now but I'm thinking of it, and I'd prefer it to be private. Thanks! =)

Raven, Airianna, and Eirwyn's have been moved.

Eruheran, I'm not entirely sure which one you're talking about...

Jaynin, it's a green one with a pen going up in the middle and two rearing horses on either side. It has some Latin on it or something.

Raven, when I renamed yours I forgot to put the extension name back in, that's why it wasn't showing up. It should be working now.

Princess, your's has been moved.
Eru, your green one is moved.

Anyone else? I didn't miss anything, did I?

Remember, you can always PM Hannah or I as well. :D

This is a bit off subject, but this is so far the only place I've to bring it up: If I make an avatar of my own, how do I use it? Usually there's a 'browse' button and you can pull it from your computer. Do I need to send it to an Admin or someone like that?

Ok I've got it back :) Can I get it moved to private though? Unless Airianna would like others the chance to use it. If so I'm ok with that too, since she made it :D

Nope, I'd like for it to be moved. I can't see anyone else using that Avatar! It fits your story so perfectly!

It is one which White Raven made for me based off of an essence map. A bunch of people are using it now (White Raven did a good job ;) ), but I was wondering if it was still possible for that one to be

Ok, I got offline for a few minutes and my Dad posted here (obviously). For the record, that wasn't me. Sorry bout that.

Anyway, the avatar WR made me is based off an essence map of one of my characters. It has a special meaning to me, but a bunch of other people are using it as well. Has it become a public domain avie, or can I still keep it personal? Would it be unfair to everyone else if I made it a private avie?

Thanks!

If it's yours we can make it private, that's fine. I'm going to get to avatars soon, I promise. I'm a little behind on this thread I'm afraid.

All right.
Ciela, Calenmiriel and 6strings have all been moved. You will have to reset them. Anyone else?

Can you move my av over to private? Not the one I'm using currently, but the one from my essence map. It's brown and black and has a stag on it.

It was lost for real that time, something went awry with the copy job.

I wielded my mighty Marcher Lord powers and restored it to you. :D We should be done losing it now...

He tried to formulate a name, to ask, but language was meaningless, and words would not come. He tried to scream but the sound got stuck in his heart, shattered into a million pieces, and scattered to the wind.

I think they just felt the need to migrate south because of all the snow ... back into the gallery, I guess. *digs hers back up and gives it a fur coat*

Jaynin, would you mind moving the one I'm using currently to the 'Private' folder? Lady Eruwaedhiel made it for me. :D

Moved. :D
You'll have to go get it out of storage again, of course.

I seem to remember asking this before, but I've looked back on this thread and it seems that I haven't...could mine be moved to 'private'?

Yes, I was referring to that one, but I'm almost done with one for Hadwin's essence, which I will use and ask that you put that one in the private. Thanks! So, my current one can stay as is.

And it's up in the folder, ready to be moved to the gallery.

Found, uploaded, moved.

Just a note of reminder; submissions go in the Gallery submissions folder, HWF for fantasy and HWSF for scifi. If you upload an avatar to the google docs folder that you want private you need to post here or PM one of the uploaders to let them know or it will be uploaded as public.
