Hello!

I'm new to Holy Worlds and I'm very excited to be part of it all. :-) Thanks for making an awesome forum.

I go by Miss Pickwickian online.

I'm from the wonderful and perfect NW.
I attend an awesome CREC Chruch.
I have some amazing friends and a wonderful family.

I'm the fifth of six children, three of which are married and one that would very much like to be (he's working on that...). I have four adorable nieces.

I'm 19.
Since highschool I've been continuing my education taking online courses, reading, working part time, raising a slew of animals, pursuing music, tutoring in writing, hanging out with and helping out married siblings, writing and generally keeping myself very busy!

I live in a very booky family and I've loved reading and writing since long before I was mildly competent at either.

Currently I have a lot of projects going.

1) I am working on a non-fiction book that is actually scheduled to be published by summer 2011. I have a lot of deadlines ahead...

2) A small movie production company asked me to turn their outline into a feature length screenplay for their new movie! Very exciting. Still in the research faze while they complete the outline and get their side organized.

3) I recently finished a shorter story (about 12,000 words) and I'm editing and revising. An agent friend agreed to look at it and I'm very excited!

4) Oh, this is my real baby. I've been working on a novel for a couple years now and the rough draft is finally coming together. I'm really trying to finish this one up before I get working on the screenplay and everything. I need to finish. It's been long enough in the making!

I read a lot.
(That could be an understatement, but I'm a kind of slow reader, so even though I spend a lot of my time reading, I don't get as much done as some people I know.)
I love nonfiction and fiction. I do read fantasy, but not a lot. Never even tried sci-fi. Because you all love writing, I know I'll fit in anyways. :-)

Most of the fiction I write is in a made up place, but not really fantasy as far as time period/people/creatures.

My very greatest purpose is to glorify my Creator!
I hope he will guide me to do that through words. :-)

I'm having a Word War over at my blog on Saturday.
www.theerraticmuse.blogspot.com
I'll be posting details on Friday.
Please join in the fun! Hopefully I'll be able to start getting to know you all.

Meanwhile..Have an amazing Thanksgiving! (Even if you aren't from the U.S. There is still plenty to be thankful for. ;-)

In Christ,

Welcome! I sounds like you will fit right in. Are you a fan of Dickens, by any chance?

Pickwickian as in the Pickwick papers by any chance? :D LOL! I'm Willy, and it's awesome to have you on this forum!

What is your nonfiction book about?

I consider that fantasy. :3 That's what I write anyways. ;) I'm having a bugger with historical fiction research, so I've had to re-evaluate some things with a current project of mine. ^^;;

Looking forward to your posts!

God bless!

Thank you everyone! :-)

Yes, I am very much a Dickens fan. My sisters and I used to have our own Pickwick society, but then my oldest sister went off and got married. What's with that?
I changed from Mr. Augustus Snodgrass to Miss Pickwickian...somehow it gave a better picture and confused people a little less. ;-)

The nonfiction book I am working on is called With All Your Heart: Let the Love of Christ Control Us and it is directed towards girls my age (and younger and older). It's a Bible study sort of thing, but it's main focus is on encouraging us to be deliberate about our purpose and time.
I've written a lot of rough drafts, but I'm still trying to figure out a good way to organize it. I'm supposed to have a copy ready to go to the proof readers by Christmas. I need to start panicking and working on that!

Thanks so much for your welcomes! I'm very excited!!!!

I love reading Charles Dickens! The Pickwick Papers is one of my favourite of his books. What fun to have your own society :)

What an amazing book to write, I once read a book written by a young christian lady when I was in my teens and it encouraged me no end when I was finding some things tough. What a blessing!

I haven't read that book by Dickens, but I recognized the name from Little Women. I'm glad you're here! :D

Thanks. :-)

The production company is small, but they have successfully produced one feature length film, The Miracle of the Widow. They are called Broadway Bridge Productions.

I have absolutely no experience with screenplay writing, so I'm currently doing a lot of researching and practicing. :-) I do know several of the people in Broadway Bridge Productions though, and they asked if I'd be willing to try. We'll see... The whole thing isn't in a very concrete stage yet..

Thanks for your welcoming!

Never heard of them; they must not have team members on Christianfilmmakers.org.

Very cool!

I am a screenwriter too; if you need to know anything about formatting or story structure, let me know and I will see if I can help you. :) Also, I recommend you join christianfilmmakers.org and hang out in the Screenwriting section -- there's some really nice screenwriters who are always glad to answer n00b questions. <smile>

So glad to have you on the forum! It was exciting to read about all your projects... especially the screenwriting! I am a devoted screenwriter myself, and I ditto Melody - come join us on Christian Filmmakers! I didn't know FADE IN from FADE OUT when I first posted, and the wonderful group was very influential in helping me get my footing.

Congratulations on pending publication! Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Thanks! :-)

It's awesome to know there are other screenwriters on here. Or...I should say screenwriters, since I can hardly be called a screenwriter yet. ;-)

Welcome, Miss Pickwickian! =) The Pickwick Papers was one of my favorite Dickens books--I should probably reread that sometime.

Anyways--have fun here on HW! =)

Oh my, I didn't welcome you in your welcome thread! I am a failure! (hangs head in despair).

Welcome Miss Pickwickian. (snuffles)

I'm the oldest, so I can't tell you what's up with older siblings getting married, but I have some siblings who refuse to let me leave. :D
