 I just saw you posted two in a row! Did I actually miss a whole week?! I am so sorry... I haven't been the best participant lately. I was going to catch up tonight... but a few unusual happenings later, sleep has claimed first priority. Thankfully, I will have several free hours tomorrow! :D

Story Prompt #21: Think of a unique or unbelievable thing that happened in your own life. Now have it, or something similar, happen in your story. Truth is often stranger than fiction!

Works in progress:
Lensebearers of Huargia - Second draft
Tuned on the Luthier's Workbench - Second draft [current focus]
Out of the Twilight - Conceptualized, semi-outlined
And there are many more in line... Apparently I need to get busy...

You are doing fine. I was a couple prompts behind and wanted to move Jimmie forward.

I may take a pass on this one, better for me not to let my mind wander sometimes. Here's the true version, though. And yes, I have shared it with my wife. :diehappyhalo

Some years ago I was a scuba diver. Some of my dive buddies were at a local river Sunday. After church I showed up, suited up while they were taking a break, and then wandered waist deep into the water. A couple of my friends, John and Chris, were standing on the shore. They were talking about sports; I listened politely since I'm not a sportsy guy.

Then this attractive young lady from a different dive group walks into the water, stands right beside me, and begins to disrobe.

I'm not sure what I said but I jumped right into the sports conversation about touch downs, strikeouts, and whatever other sports words I could remember, while staring at Chris and John.

Fortunately, the lady had something on under her dive suit. I think, anyway. My eyes stayed on Chris and John.

Story Prompt #22: Speak of deep loss.

Wanted to get this in early; I'll be off-line for a few days.

Ooh... That`s a tough one.

And yes feel free to take the previous prompt in a different direction...

I sort of brought it around, given another circumstance. And worked on the beginning of loss. :)

Are we talking about a personal loss, or - say someone lost in the future?

Worked on discussing a color... Didn't get to the color, but worked on keeping the scenery a bit more visible. String camp stole my brain...

Story Prompt #23 Can your character sing? (It had to be done... ;) )

We've been pretty flexible. I interpreted it as a loss that hurt deeply. Being lost is a slightly different verb form, but maybe the loss is that a fellow character is lost. :) And I'm fairly certain Domicile won't mind if you stretch the prompt to fit your story. The whole purpose of this is to spark inspiration, and help you incorporate a greater variety of elements.

That would be Domici with the ‘help’ of an AUTOCORRECT filter.
I just love it when my iPad changes words to what I really meant to say instead of what I typed.

Story Prompt #24: Deal with illness.

Says the guy recovering from a bad cold and a full hours compressed work week. :(

I'm still working on the singing bit.

Yep, sorry about that, Domici! Hopefully my phone isn't altering anything in strange ways today... at this hour it's hard to tell. :?

I'm at another full season (hopefully lasting only a few weeks more) where I can't focus on my writing as much, but I'm looking for the right day to insert it back in.

Story Prompt #25: Reveal a hidden motive, or that one exists.

I've fallen drastically behind, and the next few months are going to be hectic. How would you feel about putting this on hiatus for a bit?

*Mentally runs through the next week of filming, and ensuing six weeks of mostly travel* Sounds good! When would you like to reconvene? And maybe when we do, we can simply work on catching up. :)

At this point, I just don't know. I'm supposed to start writing Book 5 in a week, and need to either edit Book 2 or write Book 6 by the end of the year. And publish Book 1 in a couple weeks. And prepare for a programming exam. And run shooting matches. And put together a marksmanship class. And, somehow, maybe, retain the minute amount of sanity that remains...

Retaining sanity... that's the hardest thing sometimes when you're working toward a deadline! Praying you accomplish everything well and on-time! :D
