The only five-letter word in my computer's dictionary file (which includes a lot of things I have my doubts about actually being words ...) that fits all of the clues given so far is "ocuby", which, while I have not consulted any hard-copy dictionaries, does not appear in any of the online dictionaries that Googling "define [word]" searches, and Googling for "define ocuby" gives a bunch of anagram-related results (sites saying what to do if you have those letters in Scrabble, for example), a few pages where from the context someone clearly meant "occupy," a few allegedly-comprehensive lists of words without definitions, and a few apparent spam pages. If "ocuby" is what you meant, I'm interested enough in obscure words to want to ask where you found it and what it means

, but it's certainly not a common English word. If not, please double-check the past scores.

Alright, I double-checked the scores (with my mom verifying, in case I was missing something) and they are correct. (I do have the rules correct, right? A letter gets a point if and only it it is the correct letter in the correct position?) My word is an adverb, and a quick search brings it up on Dictionary.com, vocabulary.com, en.oxforddictionaries.com, and Mirriam-Webster.com. On Mirriam Webster it is marked as in the top 20% of looked up words. I have been playing the game on paper, crossing out letters that can't be in the words with points and thinking of words that could be in it. Maybe try that since the word search things aren't working? (I am curious to know how you are searching what words are possible with this game, though. It sounds really neat!) I can give another hint if everyone is still stuck... Maybe say which letters are correct?

Okay, it looks like kingjon and I both thought that the two correct letters in the word were "c" as the second letter and "y" as the last, which clearly, is not the case, since "ocuby," is listed as only having one correct letter. But here's why we thought that: the word "scaly" is given a score of two, meaning there are two letters in the correct places. But which letters? We know the initial "s" is not one of those two, since the word "saved" has a score of zero. Neither could it be the middle "a," because "plaid" is given a score of zero as well. And it also cannot be the penultimate "l" since "mills" has a score of zero. That leaves us with only two letters that could be correct: the "c" and the "y." So you see our dilemma.
