Hmmm... Bride. Not sure how helpful that will be, but I'm having trouble thinking of words today.

Alright, Fearsome Dragon of the North! ;) Actually, I looked it up, and it seems it is fine to say "General Hansen" or write Ltg. Hanson as the abbreviation. Lieutenant General Hansen would be required in a more formal venue, though.

Wait, what? My strategy is usually to choose a word that fits the clues given so far at random (words scoring "0" are most useful of all, by the way), and at this point there were still hundreds if not thousands of common five-letter words fitting the five data points you'd given.

If it's my turn again, then I am thinking of a five-letter word that is not

plush (lastword): 1

(And since I was not expecting this, I'll also score the last couple of guesses that people made in the last round, to speed up this one.)

hedge (Alias Ember): 0
skims (Minstrelgirl451): 1

And, of the seven or so common words that fit the scores I've given so far ...

which (Minstrelgirl451): 5

... you guessed the very one I had in mind! It's now your turn to choose a word.

Yay!!! :dieshappy: My mom and dad have been enjoying following this game, and have been excited to hear the scores. So, kingjon, your game is a hit! :) (Dad asked if I win $1000. I told him I get to pick the next word. Which Mom said is better than $1000. )

Ok, after a bit of thought, I have the perfect word!

Which - 0

Works in progress:
Lensebearers of Huargia - Second draft
Tuned on the Luthier's Workbench - Second draft [current focus]
Out of the Twilight - Conceptualized, semi-outlined
And there are many more in line... Apparently I need to get busy...

Just a reminder (I messed up on this earlier) that you need to wait both for your guess to be scored, and for someone else to play before guessing again. Here is kingjon's reminder:

I'll allow it just this once, but as per the rules in my post introducing this game, please wait until at least one other player has made a guess before guessing again.

Oops, sorry! I forgot about that.

Um, the only word I can find matching all the clues (if I've read them aright) is an obsolete word meaning "to calm or to soothe" dating back to the days of Edmund Spencer. I'd never heard of it until today:
Accoy

 Ummm... I hadn't heard of that word either... Let me double-check the scores...

(Edited to fix typing errors... I was really tired when I wrote this. )

Alright, here are all the words so far. A score of 0 doesn't mean none of the letters are in the word, just that none are in the word in the right position. So if the word is tar, rat would get a score of 1, even though all three letters are in both words.

Which - 0
Plaid - 0
Budge - 0
Merry - 1
Saved - 0
Mills - 0
Enemy - 1
Scaly - 2
Accoy - 2
I had assumed my solution was pretty common... But it isn't the "main heading" form of the word in the dictionary... I shall apologize profusely if this is a weird bit of vocabulary I picked up from reading older books in my youth... If the consensus is that there aren't any more words that fit the clues, I can give you the part of speech (Which I think will get everyone on the right track)
