Weekly Challenge #229: Write inspired by LotR (if you haven't read it then choose a classic of your genre).

Directions:
1. Post on the challenge thread, declaring the goals you have committed to. This must be done before midnight on Monday.
2. When you have finished your goals, post on the challenge thread again, stating what goals you have completed, how many times you have completed them, and whether any of them were combined.
3. At midnight on Saturday you are not allowed to report any more finished goals, and the challenge is over.

Rules:
1. You can repeat the weekly challenges, and get more points, but if you repeat your own personal goal, you will not get extra points.
2. The organizer has the right to veto any personal goal that seems too easy (i.e. writing a sentence).

Points:
You can earn points in these ways:
1. completing the weekly challenge
2. repeating the weekly challenge
3. completing your personal goal
4. combining your personal goal and the weekly challenge

I've read some LotR but inspiration isn't just something you can switch on. So I'm afraid I don't quite understand this weeks challenge.

Personal Goal: Read though Lady of Courage, plan at least five scenes for it. (I decided to break the NaNo rules and continue a dropped WIP)

For Lady Anna Briar:
A. Pick a character or place from LotR and write something about them.
B. Write a story that uses one of the creatures or items from LotR.
C. Write a poem like the Hobbit song about breaking dishes.
D. Whatever you write just has to have some sort of connection to LotR.

OK, For ME:
Personal Goals:
1. Finish Battle with Ben and Pirates so Domici will not stress over NaNoWriMo.
2. Design plans for 600 ton Starship (preliminary)
3. First Draft of 1428.1 Cover
4. Six PbP posts in 6 days.

Weekly Challenge Goal
1. Write something inspired by Chapter 1 of Oliver Twist
(Sorry, I was bored to tears by LOTR and never made it past page 20 of The Hobbit or the first movie.)
2. Combine the WCG with Personal Goal #4.

Let's bite off more than we can chew. ;)

10-24-16 Finished Personal Goal #1: Finish Battle with Ben and Pirates so Domici will not stress over NaNoWriMo @ 1960 words.

10-27-16 Finished Personal Goal #2: Plans uploaded to art. Tried to post to a topic, I don't think it took. I'll try again tomorrow.

10-28-16 Finished Personal Goal #3: First Draft of 1428.1 Cover ... rushing artwork is exhausting and not particularly satisfying. I will not make that mistake again.

10-16-16 Technically, I reached 9 posts in the PbP, so I made Personal Goal #4: Six PbP posts in 6 days ... However, I still need to do the Weekly Challenge as part of the PbP, so I still have about 30 hours to create something inspired by Dickens.

10-28-16. Finished Weekly Challenge Goal #1: Write something inspired by Chapter 1 of Oliver Twist and combined it with Personal Goal #4 (11 posts in 5 days). I had to stop about half way through the Dickens Structure, so the PbP Player could respond, but I will finish it up when he does. In the mean time, I started with a narrator presenting a theme and tone, followed by a general building of setting and characters, and then zoomed in on the emotional conversation (which is where the Player get's to respond).

10-29-16 11:55 PM Repeated the Weekly Challenge and Combined it with Personal Goal #4

I can affirm (and do occasionally swear) that atpollard has met PG #1; reduce my stress.

I only skimmed the first book. And it's Tuesday my time so to late to choose something else.

Personal goal Complete. I came up with a few really great ones, and lots of other important things.
