Let me start by saying, I love essence mapping and I have great respect for those who took the time to learn it well. Coming from a programming background, it's always been easier for me to get the hang of it and it's been an interesting field of study for me over the past years.
Now, I say this with no disrespect for the original format, but it can be difficult for others to get the hang of. I recall a thread I created some time back (
link) simply asking why it collected so much dust and most of the answers were related to complexity or lack of understanding how essence mapping is truly useful.
So I set out to fix this by creating a GUI program for building essence maps, but that soon collected dust as well due to time constraints.
So now, I'm back at it again and wondering, what would y'all think of a very basic essence mapping 2.0?
What would be the goal? To create a simple, "user friendly", bullet proof, dead simple, way of mapping essence (see
this thread for more information on what essence is).
How will you ensure the goal will be met?If this project were to take off, I'll probably head it up with the possible help from a few other users here on HW. After some planning and discussion, we'd probably write out the proposed method and have a few of y'all take it for a beta test to ensure it turns out as easy as we hoped.

Again, I want to be clear. This isn't to replace the original method of essence mapping, if you know it, that's great. This is to allow
everyone to better understand and use essence mapping.
