Hi, gang! As you know, our beloved website will soon be moving to Penoaks's company server. This move is the perfect opportunity for the tech team to do some serious work on the back end, redesigning the forum, fixing bugs, and adding new features.

To that end, we're looking for your feedback. What's most important to you about the site? Which features do you use the most? Which new features do you want to see implemented first? What do you think about the design and layout?

Fill out the survey here: http://goo.gl/forms/fgNCsrKGcAcSGPk03

Although we'll be leaving the survey up for several weeks, we're hoping the new site will be ready to launch by the end of the month. So the sooner you can submit your feedback, the better!

Have fun!

Is there a spot for forum related Q&A/troubleshooting/How-to type stuff? That might be a good addition.

What brings that to mind is I have a question and wasn't sure where to ask. I know the Tricky Subjects section can only be accessed by those with permission. But are there other forums that are limited to members only or are all forums/threads public? If there are - how are they marked so we know?

I'd like to be able to share writing in a more controlled setting - to fellow members but not just any guest who happens to be lurking. I know the Fireside rooms are for that purpose but there's nothing marking whether or not they are public. And I can't think of how to find out, short of logging out just to see what I can see.

Having Members Only rooms marked as such is a really good idea!

Just so you know, the Fireside forums are private for members. People have to be logged in to see content, so your writing shared will be to members only. :)

There used to be. There was an "announcements" forum, a "reference/how-to" forum, and a "tech support" forum. Then, a couple of years or so ago now, all of those were combined into "Official Chatter." Which has now, apparently, been renamed back to "Announcements and Information."

I think there used to be some sort of FAQ thread that covered that :). But in addition to the Fireside (as mentioned), I believe that the Realms Beyond are also members-only.

(There was also a "which mod is responsible for which forum" thread; that information would IMO be better placed next to the forum names in the main forum-list page, and in the forums themselves, if the software can support that.)

Allow user preference color scheme. The current is pretty unreadable to me.

We've gotten similar feedback, so it's definitely in the works. Do fill out the rest of the survey if you haven't already, though!

I've got a suggestion! The logout link being directly over the Forum Index link is extremely dangerous. I always almost click the wrong one! :D

That's a good one! :)

If any of our new members did not see this before, feel free to go ahead and still fill out this survey! The tech team is having a meeting soon and would love to consider your additional suggestions.

I'd like to suggest The Forge being members only, too? Since it's an area we share specific writing content/ideas?

Another suggestion. It'd be nice if we could subscribe to topics from the bottom instead of the top. When I forget to click "notify me when a reply is posted" I have to scroll up and up to find the link.
