Hello everyone,

My name is Jeff Simmons and I'm a Christian game developer. I've been a professional Sound designer in the industry the last 8 years and worked on many large projects with top professionals. The last few years I've been making plans to start producing Christian themed games to be a means to share the Gospel and provide clean entertainment.

We're currently building our first project entitled "Rise of the King" An Adventure survival game set within a medieval fantasy world for PC and mac. It's a gospel illustrated game such as something like a C.S Lewis "Chronicles of Narnia" type of experience. We're a super small team called "Revelation Games". We have a few industry professionals producing art and content for us as we progress towards some funding runs. Here's our current FB page. Our official website is still being completed but will be posted once completed.

https://www.facebook.com/RiseOfTheKing

All this to brings me to the point of coming here. I'm looking for some writers who have a passion for the Gospel and want to help make a difference in the entertainment industry. Our title is Medieval fantasy set within a more realistic fantasy world (No orcs and elves) but fictional place and peoples. We're looking for writing help to flesh out our story plot, characters, and create fictional Christian inspired religious lore and write conversations for quest lines.

The root desire behind the game is to illustrate Substitutionary Atonement within the game and help people understand concepts like Prophecies and Persecution. The gameplay has a bit of a murder mystery investigation slant while trying to unravel the mysterious death of the King. We'll have books the player can read in-game, notes, ancient puzzles and all sorts of fun stuff. The game features a Conversation system in which the player can choose various options and make choices within the quest line to Roleplay and impact people.

I'm trying to keep this short so if your interested in providing some help and your talent, please shoot me an email and I'd love to talk. Our small team has worked on games such as Bioshock, Guild wars, Halo, TMNT, Star Wars-related titles and others. We'd just love to find to guidance and help in this form. We'd love to see our story concept improved and polished by a fellow Christian. At this time we're doing this out of our own pockets and so payment is on a low paid or no paid basis. But we're producing content for our upcoming kickstarter run at getting some funding at a basic level.

Please shoot me an email if you have any interest in talking further! :)

If it comes down to writing bits and pieces -such as books and journals in game like you said- I and others may be of some assistance. I do not have the time or the sanity at this point to contribute to the story itself, but I greatly enjoy writing obscure prose, journal entries, and field guide accounts. If anything like that comes up once it has a place in the story, let me know. Just give me the context and any world-building I need to know.

Do you want me to copy that as an email?

Hey Kitra,

Thanks for linking our website here! I had been meaning to update the thread. :D

The original help we had for the project fell out understandably due to us being a bit overwhelmed to give them enough information constantly enough. we've been trying to hit core product development deadlines and been more than a little backed up =)

I'm focusing on story development the next few months and within a few weeks I'd be ready for some more writing help to polish and expand some of my basic content. So if anyone would enjoy helping we're in need.

We're trying to prepare asset production and mechanics development for a Early next year Kickstarter launch for funding assistance so we can go into full time development and get some more people helping us.

I'm going to start a private forum on our Community forums website where fellow believers and writers can help out and write individual stories/books or help give out idea's for general story development and or Lore enhancement. So anyone interested within a few weeks I'll create a private forum for this kind of collaboration!

Thanks so much all!

Lore is one of my specialties. :D I'll do my best to help out in any story capacity. Do let us know when the Kickstarter is up!

Hey Jeff,

I am available to help out on this project. It would be awesome to work in collaboration with Kitra. We've done some interesting writing experiments in the past. Check this one out!. Most of that was made up on the spot, so I'm sure we could come up with all kinds of stuff for this game. Just give us some characters and a world, and we can make it come alive for you.

Shall I copy this in an email? I think I shall.

I forgot about that. We also did the one with Tanner and Bakar. It almost became a quest, but we dropped it.

I would love to take this chance to work on a real project. And get some dirt under my nails.
