Hope: What is a nexus ancible? I've never heard of that before.

The Yllren, yes, are protectors. Or were supposed to be. Now we've become too embroiled in our own war to focus on that. The Yllren were simply created to be the protectors, and yes, it is. I am only half Yllren though. The other half is human, so I have a bit more freedom in my decision.

Gram: It's my term for the Origin of Universes. There's no set one origin, there are multiple areas where infinite worlds start though.. I call them Nexus Ancibles.

Hope: I suppose you could it that then. Doesn't quite describe it completely though.

(Suddenly, with a flash of thunderous lighting, a portal opens. It fills the room with the distinct smell of brimstone, and gives off a defining sound that resembles that of a strong wind. Despite this, if you listen closely enough you can just make out what appears to be an argument from the other side of the rift)

"I am not stepping through that!"

"What other choice do we have!"

"We're Guardians of the Green! We can stay and fight!"

"We're outnumbered and outgunned. I don't know about you, but I don't plan on being eaten by one eyed demon worshipers!"

"Hey, let go of me!"

(Suddenly, with a crack, a pair of young men come falling through the gap; the portal closing immediately behind them, all covered in soot and smelling like a bitter cocktail of brimstone and and blood. The taller of the two men stumbles to his feet and begins to aid the far shorter of the pair to his feet. The taller young man is a lanky redheaded fellow with emerald green eyes, slightly pointed ears and a sun-kissed complexion, the shorter is a very small, dark-haired young man with pale skin, large dark brown eyes, and the ears and tail of a rat. Both young men are dressed in long sackcloth coats covering tarnished silvery chain mail, a green scarf wrapped around the taller young man's neck and around the smaller young man's waste. Both are further adorned with a silvery amulet that might be mistaken for some sort of policemen's badge--that is, if the smaller of the two young men's badges was not smoking.)

Gram: *blinks* Hunh.... this is new... Good evening!

(The two young men turn to face Gram in a flash, Making motions as if to reach for their weapons, only to grasp at air)

Short Young Man: (With his eyes trained on Gram) Yah Grace! We're unarmed! I knew we shouldn't have stepped through that portal

Tall Young Man: (Turning to the short young man) Relax, Maybe their friendly. (Turning to face Gram the Tall young man begins to speak slowly stretching out out his words as if speaking to a deaf person) Hello, I, Am Lyr,I,Ous, and, this, Is, My, Friend, Jach, we, mean, you, no, harm, do, you, speak, common.

Gram: . . . Are you in a state of shock? If not, *bows* Good evening gentlemen. I am Gram. Immortal trans-dimensional ghost. At your service.

Jach: Ghost! (Jumps back suddenly and whips out his silvery amulet) Begone, Evil spirit begone.

Lyrious: (Takes a good long look at Gram, rubbing a scruffy patch of hair on his chin) I think you can relax Jach. I don't think he's our kind of Ghost. I'm not getting those kinds of psychic signals off of him. No undying rage, inescapable terror, or insurmountable sorrow. Mostly just getting confusion, a bit of contempt, and is that a touch of amusement? (Extends his hand to Gram) Nice to meet you Gram. My friend Jach and I are Shepherds of the Faith, specifically we are Guardians of the Green. Think Peace Officer meets Preacher, we act as a form of Law enforcement for the faith. Dealing with corruption in the Faith, A Shepherd steps out of line were their to set things right, Got psychotic Demon worshipers no problem, got a sorcerer problem we'll suss em out before any innocence get burned at the stake for drinking herbal tea, Ect.

Gram: Oh, so you're like the good, nice version of Executors.

*hand passes through outstretched one*

Lyrious: (looks somewhat dumbfounded and maybe a bit insulted) No, I can safely say that executing people is not in our job description. (Obviously does not understand)

Jach: Yeah, we don't kill prisoners. Not saying we don't take life. We just try to avoid it whenever possible. (Also does not get it)

Lyrious: Guardians are not the blunt instrument of the church that they wave around like a billy club, more like a shield set to protect the faithful and sometimes even unbelievers against those whose wicked hearts seek to harm them, whether those threats be from without or even within the faith itself.

Jach: Often puts us at odds with a lot of people.

Gram: Oh, ok. Just checking. My apologies. Traveling dimensions, one comes across many, MANY undesirable church warriors, including but not limited to bloodthirsty Crusaders, Militant members, militant societies, assassins, Templars, space Templars, and some weird warriors of Ni.

Hope: *eyes then carefully, tapping on the hilt of her sword* Paladins, then, in a way.

Lyrious: (begins adding to Gram list) The Inquisition, Knights of Tahlah, and Avengers of Avandyr. I am well versed in how anger and fear can corrupt the hearts of the faithful into something ugly. Heck, as a Prothan I was nearly the victim of that last group. That's kind of part of the reason the Guard exists, to prevent the spread of such wickedness among the Faithful, but The Faith seems more afraid of us walking down such a path than they are of such groups springing up from within other orders.

Jach: Sanctimonious Hypocrites, did you know Lyrious here wanted to be a Seeker of Knowledge, a sort of Scientist Priest, so he could help advance the study of Medicine, but the stuck up powers that be wouldn't let him in just because he'd killed some pirates to protect a small village on the shore of Tarfuth?

Lyrious: I think it was more about the Ice Giants I killed in surface to the Prothan military.

Jach: Right, Monan with sympathy for Ice Giants, what's next? Ifran caring what happens to Dragoncursed?

Lyrious: I'm pretty sure the Pirates where Prothan.

Jach: Never mind, it was the giants.

Lyrious: (Looks at Hope uncertainly) I'm not sure I'm familiar with that term.

Jach: I am. It means Knight of Light. It refers to a knight of significant virtue and honor. I'd say the term does fit Guardians--we do call each other Knight Brothers/Sisters for a reason. But, historically Paladins where not Priests. (Paladen is a French term that has evolved with modern fantasy, Rahtan from beneath the ever-wood are decidedly French so he'd know the term. But not how it evolved. A closer term would be Knights Templar, an order of Knight-Priests who despite an unearned reputation served as defenders of the roads during the crusades, ensuring the safety of Pilgrims to the holy land; Christians and Islamics alike.)

Hope: *begins to glow a faint gold* Yes, that would be an accurate summary. I am a paladin, chosen by Lyrianur and granted some of the power he wields. *shrugs as the light fades* I am not a priest either, and have no desire to be one.

Tevinta: (murmuring) This place just gets weirder and weirder...

Jack: Hello other Jack! That is how it's pronounced, right? You're French, too? ...Well, I guess I'm more like American and French and British, buuuuuut, it's cool anyway!

Jach: No, it's Jach, and French? What's French? (He wouldn't know he was French in any way).

Lyrious: Doesn't your belief state that all its adherents are priests? (The faith does so. It is in fact a belief many Christian denominations hold. Mine does, so does the faith, even if the faith is more Catholic, whilst that's more of a protestant thing), also...How are you glowing like that? Is that some form of Elkin?(Energy "Magic") I'd say it feels more like Sulkin (Spiritual power) but I don't know of any Sulkin techniques that produce light like that.

Hope: *shrugs* No, not really. Paladins, or Yllren, to use our true identity, are, or were supposed to be, wanderers, traveling the stars to give aid and hope to all we met, protecting those who required protection, and seeking the Yllnad to bring them to justice. Priests, I met in Ainaan, they have twisted the teachings of Lyrianur and manipulate it for their own power while decrying the bards, a vocation created by Lyrianur himself as his enemy. *shrugs* Rumour has it they found a dragon and convinced it to destroy the bardic college for them. I don't know those terms though, so I can't really say.

Lyrious: Sounds like a Priest to me. Just because one group declares itself something, doesn't make that group the definition of that thing. If the "gods" of Proth were to be used as a definition for the term god, that would make Yah himself evil, a laughable concept indeed. A Priest is anyone who serves a god and has authority to speak on their god's behalf. This is true of all who serve Yah. That doesn't mean there are not those who abuse that authority, however.

Hope: Then perhaps I am, though it is less me speaking on Lyrianur's behalf and more of being spoken through, if that makes sense.

Jach: Oh, Lyrious knows that feeling all to well.

Hope: *nods sympathetically* You too, huh?

Lyrious: If you get prophetic dreams, or find yourself getting accurate advice from people who others insist aren't there.

Jach: Or have demons run at the sight of you, or mountain spirits bow to you.

Lyrious: There was also that time with the lightning...

Lyrious: And to top it all off, it feels like whoever is in charge of my luck must be a Manic-Depressive Schizophrenic.

Gram: You and me both.

Hope: I found that most of the bad luck I suffer was the result and consequnces of my own actions.

Gram: Oh, Hello The Paul

The Paul: The Paul has heeded The Gram's request and come here. The Paul sees many creatures of the worlds and bids them welcome.

Jach: (With his already wide eyes, widened greatly in surprise) Is that a...

Gram: We met under interesting circumstances. I was doing a thing in an underwater city, which was coincidentally under attack by Hyilan Zephyrs. (Nasty Ghosts) when we bumped into each other.

The Paul: Since then, The Paul has taken it to heart and has accompanied The Gram ever since then.

As to why The Paul names himself this? Well, it has to do with his father, Alpha Paul. The Paul's Father once told him that to speak in 3rd Person would imbue the Paul with Walrus-y strength. Thusly, it is so.

Gram: *sighs* You must excuse him, he hit his head when he was young. Literally. Brain clot the size of a pinky finger at birth.

Hasn't helped him since. He's paranoid.
