Has anyone ever gone Larping? (Live-Action Role-Playing?)
Wikipedia Article on LARPing.

I just did today :D.
It was the local Amtgard group, which is a mainly boffer combat group. Ie, we hit each other with cool foam swords that didn't hurt. It's the most fun I've ever had hitting people.
We didn't have any roleplaying, the closest we came was the one point at which one guy asked the group of four I was in what our character names were.
I was Kelcin, the Sneaky/Stealthy. Not sure which one rings off the tongue better.

... someone else who knows about boffering and Amtguard?!

I'm with a group called the Youth Rangers of Gondor, which is basically an Amtguard for kids. We don't meet anymore, really; most of the members got really busy, including the woman who marshaled. :(

Did you do any roleplaying, or purely combat? And did you use the same combat mechanics, one hit wounded, two hits dead?

It was mostly combat, though me and a few friends often did roleplaying together. And kind of - if you were hit once in the arm or leg, you were wounded (and if you got hit in a limb again, that made you dead; so two limb shots = dead), but if you got one hit in the torso, you died right off.

Sounds just like the Amtgard rules they taught me :D

What kind of battlegames did you do? Ever play the Hunger Games?
