Yes, I know I promised I wouldn't be posting at all once things got busy for me, but I promise these few posts will not become a habit (honestly, I cannot afford them to become so). I've kept an eye on things two eyes, as often as I can spare them, and I think this is something that should be said.

Those that continue to bear the name of Mimetes are now few in number. The reasons for why this is have been stated by those who have recently changed their names (and perhaps were not stated in the past several months by those who could not reveal their true reasons), and I fully support every one of my friends (for I feel blest to call each of you friends) in his personal conviction.
After much thought on the matter, I have been led to a conviction of my own: I will keep the name Mimetes.

This is not to say that I agree with what has taken place in our beloved halls -- far, far from it. The past few weeks have brought a lot of hurt, tears, and a great heaviness to my heart; and Jay was the source (directly or indirectly) of most of that pain.
However, even without wholly knowing the truth, I have decided to forgive. For my part, I have forgiven Jay of what (and whatever) he did against me.

I do not keep the name as a tribute to our leader -- for he is no longer such and to do so would be wrong.
I do not primarily This is a part of why, but a very small part when compared to the main reason. keep the name as a tribute to our founder -- for that reason alone he deserves a certain amount of respect, and I gladly give it.
I do keep the name Mimetes as a tribute to a friend and brother in Christ -- for I support him and will gladly call him such upon his return.

Until the day that my brother is released, the title Mimetes will adorn my profile.

Well said. This is why I too keep Mimetes in my name, with the addition that I made a promise to myself that I would keep it. How often I have broken my promises, even to myself, I couldn't bear to try to count. For me to take Mimetes out now would only add to that vast number. And so, as a token that I am striving to change, and to keep my word as I ought, Mimetes will stay in my username until my brother in Christ returns.
