Hey, all,

I just wanted to let ya'll know that my sister and I are going to be off visiting our friends out in the country for the weekend. Since they have veeeeryyyyy slooooow internet (and we'll be busy playing with all their critters), you probably won't see me on here until I get back. ;) But I will be tossing around ideas with them and (hopefully) will come up with some more ideas to post when I get back.

In Christ,

Have fun! I'm kinda jealous that you get to go play with their critters. ;)

Maybe you can even harvest some inspiration from the critters! (You never know.)

Have fun!

I'll be excited to hear the feedback. You will have an e-mail waiting for you when you get back, so be sure to check it out. Kiss the goats for me!

I'm back!

We all had a great time together. Among other crazy activities, we dyed white shirts with grape juice, dissected a cactus, and nearly got killed several times by their horses. :D (And I kissed a baby goat for you, Airianna.)

Yes! I miss the little buggers.

Glad you had a good time. Dissected a cactus?

Yep, we dissected it. My sister had this little cactus and we chopped it in half to see what was inside. I expected it to be hollow, but it was like a seedless cucumber inside.

That makes sense. I've never seen the inside of one, but from living in the dessert (yeah, being a military brat means you end up in some unusual places) that lines up with everything I was taught. Cool!

Dyed skirts with grape juice! That sounds like fun. What shade of purple does the finished fabric come out as? Do you have instructions for the process?

It came out as a sort of light pinkish-purple color. As for instructions, we just tie-dyed the shirts, but with grape juice instead of "real" dye. ;) Unfortunately, I left my still-damp shirt in a plastic bag and forgot about it, and when I found it the other day it was covered in green polka dots. Mom said mold spreads so just chuck it, so I did. The green dots did add a rather nice color contrast, though... :P
