Andrew is working on a fix that will allow you to customize your default rank (what color your name appears as) in the different forums, so you'll be able to show up as editor on Fantasy but writer on Sci-Fi or whatever. It's just being picky so it's taking him awhile to get that implemented. However, even when you are able to customize default ranks, your permissions will still be the same, so you'll always have editor powers and be able to see the editor room wherever you go.

Right now we're having permissions issues, though, so you can see rooms you normally can't. We're fixing that ASAP.

But I still shouldn't have access to the other ones, right?

No. You should only have access to the first two rooms above Official Chatter on every forum. So don't go in the other ones. It will be sorted out at some point.

Not sure if this is a relevant question here, but thought I'd ask.

Is it possible for profiles to get mixed up? I got a notification about the Historical fiction forum, indicating a reply to a post I never created. And when I looked at my posts, it shows a bunch of topics I never spoke in. I never even posted in the Historical Fiction side that I can recall. This only came up after the forums were unified (not enough proof, though)

Think this is a switch glitch, is anyone else experiencing this problem? Or is it a hacker I must annihilate?

And if this is the wrong thread, lemme know and I can move my concern elsewhere.

Because of the switch to a unified login, both the Sci-fi and the Historical Fiction forums have messed up posters from the pre-unified login switch. On HF, all of Cadenza's posts now show up as Ciela Rose. They will eventually get switched out, but it will take some time.

If people are still going around fixing posts that got attributed to someone else when the merge happened, my posts on Sci-Fi (at least some) apparently were given to SilverAngel and Arien Mimetes's posts were given to Atlante. (Noticed this in the "Oh cool" thread in the Time and Space forum.)

We'll be changing posts for a looong time.

At the moment, yes. Andrew is working on it so that we will be able to change our colours on each forum. For me, though, I've started moderating here, so I'll stay green.

Using the "View your posts" button on each forum doesn't work.

When we are finished sorting everything the "View your posts" will work.

I encountered a weird error when I tried to archive a thread on HF. I locked it, and when I tried to move it to the Lobby Archives, it will not let me select it. Screenshot attached. It won't let me select any of the rooms that are in the lighter color.

I'm guessing that's an issue with the room permissions. Can you post about it in Katie's compendium thread?

It was my understanding that the signatures on all three forums will/are supposed to be able to be different from each other, yes? *Has noticed that her Sci-fi signature has now migrated over to HWF too*

I was extra careful and copy/pasted my sigs from SF and HF and then thinned it down to 1000 characters.

As with avatars, splitting signatures is something I hoped might be possible, but couldn't guarantee how it'd work on the live sites. With avatars Andrew was pretty confident it would be possible but it ended up taking more work and some crafty fixes. If there's enough interest I will consider hiring him for the extra time needed to work on signatures. It just was not a significant issue so I did not push it while we were dealing with other more important bugs and features.

The main reason is some posts have already been changed the thread by thread way. The other way would probably work too, but whatever way we start doing it is the way we have to do it all the way through.

The way you suggested would do the same thing in the long run, and it probably doesn't matter which way we do it. But like I said before, we have to stick to what was started, and it was started by changing things thread-by-thread, so we'll finish it this way. On HF we might be doing it differently, not sure yet.

Side, minor question on the matter of the Citadel (Fourth forum).

www.holyworlds.org only shows the three forums: Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Historical. Eventually, Citadel will be added to that, right? After we work out all the bugs with the merge and the fixing of SF and HF, right?

Yes, definitely. The main page is in need of a total redo anyway, I expect.

Default ranks aren't customizeable yet. Once Andrew gets that sorted, we'll make sure you're properly tinted, Varon.

By the way, Andrew fixed the permissions issue that was causing "user activation notifications" to be sent, so nobody should be getting those now. Let me or Andrew know if you are still receiving them.
