I'm going to try to fix these problems, but I need to know the following:

2. Which forum you're experiencing difficulties on

Just to clarify for those who come after me, is this the place to post if your username and another username have had their posts mixed up (due to the ID number issue), or will we be needing another thread for that?

*Raises hand* On HF I do not have HRM or Moderator powers, only editor ones. I also can't see any forums past the Scribes Quarters.

And on SF I can see the ML hall and have ML powers.

No. This thread is not for username confusion. I'm not dealing with the username bit. Pretty much if you're having an issue other than usernames, then I'm your friendly tech guy.

Aha. That's the kind of information I need. I will be gone all day today, but I'll get back to this tonight or tomorrow and see what I can do.

Here on fantasy, I'm good. But on Sci-fi I'm seeing the ML room too (at least, I think I am -I'm not sure of ranks there) and I don't think I'm seeing the moderators' room. So I'm confused. Also, I got an error 404 when I tried to access the fourth forum.

On HWHF:

I cannot see the moderating rooms (I don't know what they're called on that forum ).
I cannot moderate (change poster, or anything like that), I can only edit...

On Sci-Fi:

I seem to have access to a lot more forums than I should. But I don't know how many...I know I'm not an admiral, though. *a bit wary of accidentally clicking something he shouldn't* I'm supposed to be a moderator, and I have those powers, but I seem to have a lot more than that, too.

Moderator permissions have been updated on HWHF. Please report if you have any continued issues. Please report if you're not a moderator and are experiencing permissions issues.

Moderator permissions on SF have been fixed. Please report if there are any continuing issues. Ya'll were set to Full Admin, lol. Not even the MLs have that kind of power.

Updated Editor and ML permissions on HF. This does not include group forum permissions. Refer to the treasure hunt analogy above.

*has kinda lost HRM powers on HF* I know Cadenza lost them too.

I now have mod powers back on HF and am no longer a full admin on SF. However, on HF I still can't see above the Scribes Quarters and on SF I can still see the ML room.


Alyssa, if you were not added to the HRM group on fantasy, that would be why.

Sorted. You both should have HRM powers back on HF now, let me know if not.

I can only see the forums up to the Honourables Nook and the Crow's Nest. But I can access the moderator control panel, edit, and access the administration control panel on both forums.

Ok! Well. I just had a poke around, but although I think I know what needs changing I'm not totally sure if I'm right. So I'm going to let Hannah or Jaynin take a look so I don't break anything.

I'm still seeing the same things-only up to the honourable's nook on HF, but I can see the ML's room on Sci-fi.

On sci-fi:

If I go to someone's profile, there's a button that says "banning" under their name.

I can still see the 'Officer's Deck' and 'Flight Deck'...I don't know what rooms I should see, but I'm certain I shouldn't see the Admiral's room. ...I don't know what rooms I should see as a moderator (never seen them before since I was just a mod on fantasy), but...yeah.

On HF:

I have mod powers now. But I still can't see anything above Scribe's quarters.

Everything's good on HF. I can see the rooms I'm supposed to see, and have the right powers.

On SF, I don't have the full admin powers anymore, but I can still view the Officer's Deck aka ML room.

Everything's fine on Historical Fiction. I can't see the Nook board Science Fiction, but not on Fantasy Fiction yet though. And I think I don't have HRM powers in both those forums. Weird. (Unless I'm not supposed too? )

I still can't see the Mod and ML room archives on HF for some reason, I can see the ML and Mod room, but not the ML and Mod archives.

So I didn't fix it.

You did make some progress on HF, I only had editor powers before, and now that's back to normal.

I see the proper rooms on Sci-Fi.

I'm seeing the right rooms now. I still can't get onto the cidatel as far as I can tell. I'll try some things.

On HF the top room I can see is now 'Bookkeeper's study', so I think that's what I'm supposed to see... Now if I go to a profile on there I see two buttons-- 'banning' and 'administrate user', though.

You see a banning button because that's how the moderators permissions are set up. Don't know why... I copy, not create.

Somehow, I lost access to TS on SF.

When I move posts on the Citadel site it keeps the topic in the old forum but with a "forward" sign. When you click on it, it's in the new forum that you move it too. But is there any way to get it out of the first place that I moved it from? Or is this not a permissions or forum setting thing?

They're called shadow topics. When you move a post it gives you an option to leave a shadow topic, and you need to make sure that's always unchecked.

There's a way to get ride of shadow topics but it's not easy and I don't remember the procedure.... ask Aubrey! It's a mod thing.

Is anybody else having issues with attachments in Private Messages?

I don't think attachments work right now in PMs.

Anyone trying to send me a .doc file didn't work at all. But when someone sent me a .jpg it worked fine. So this might be fixable.

IIRC, when you open the moderation control panel for any forum, there should be an option under any shadow topic to "delete shadow topic."
