Yes, thanks to Andrew's hard work, the forums are live and functional again. You can post on all three forums as normal, and you can send and receive PMs and use chat (although chat is glitchy at the moment). Bear in mind that there's quite a few kinks to sort out, and it may take a few days for the dust to settle. Be patient and have fun with your newly unified HW in the meantime!

Andrew has a global thread in which he's updating y'all on the bugs he's currently working on. Something I'll add to that--my moderators (and possibly others) may be receiving "Activate New User" notification emails. This has been noted, and we're working on it. Just delete any of these emails you receive.

Secondly, some of you may not have the right rank, if your fantasy rank was "lower" than your rank on HF or SF. The group leaders will need to manually add you back in, so be patient.

So there you have it, guys! A unified Holy Worlds! Everyone thank Andrew for all his tireless work!

I think it's only the Fantasy chat that has glitches right now. The chats of Historical Fiction and Science Fiction seem to be working perfectly well. And they're synced beautifully. =)

The only differences I can see so far (not that I've done much digging) are that every single "room" (and probably every single thread; I haven't actually opened any of the "rooms" yet) in SF and HF claims to be unread (much like how any thread that's moved to the Archives always appears new even if the "this is now being archived" final reply is omitted), and that I can now see the moderator rooms there.

Yes, those are both to be expected. It's showing up as unread because the forum thinks you're a different person, and yes, you now have moderator permissions across the board, which is intentional. Huzzah!

*pats Balec's shoulder and gives him a cupcake* Yes, Andrew is working on the issues with Fantasy chat. We're not sure yet whether all the chat rooms will stay live, but either way it will only be a temporary solution--at some point in the future chat will get reworked entirely, but that's a separate phase of Anduin. He's also working on the avatars.

Interesting... so do all PMs get send to one side, or what? I see no '0 new messages' on sci-fi.

Soo, I logged into Fantasy this morning, the only member on and I was like. Ooh, it mustn't have happened. Everyone else is still asleep. How sad. I logged out, went over and logged into Historical Fiction, clicked on one of my threads and though, What! How does it say I am Elestar, and since when did Willow ever comment on Historical Fiction. What has happened....oh wait! I wonder if it has been unified and I just didn't look in the right place. Silly me.

At the moment you can access your PMs from any of the forums. It's the same inbox--same messages--you can just get to it through any of the forums.

The fourth forum is up but there's nothing on it yet. I'll post the URL in the ML Hall, but it won't get publicly linked until there's something to see.

My seat on HWSF doesn't fit in the bridge anymore, but that's likely because I got bumped down to purple.

I wasn't sure where to ask or who to ask, but I've been getting email notifications about accounts being deactivated or newly created. It wants me to check the details and, I guess, activate it. Has this been happening because of the changes made with the forum? And what am I supposed to do with them?

Yep, just delete them. It's a glitch that has happened due to the changes, Andrew is going to fix it, but until then just delete them.

Heh heh. I'm not sure why Varon's name is doing that. I'll try to fix it, but I think it's a permissions issue. I have Hannah on the case with that one. In the meantime he can be special... he has a habit of being special... like the only user to ever get accidentally deleted...

Andrew figured out what went wrong with all the usernames being switched on old posts. It affects HF and SF only. It's fixable, it'll just take a bit of elbow grease, as the mods will need to change the author of each affected post manually. That will take some time, but if all goes well, everyone should be able to edit their old posts on HF and SF because they will be associated with their new account. (Post counts should also update, I think.) Elanor's in the process of organizing that effort, so if you have mod permissions and want to help out, contact her.

Thanks for your patience, guys! Andrew and the team are working through all these kinks first. Once the forums are fully functional, we'll move on to new features like the navigation bar.

Oh, let me guess: the name mixups happened because the F, SF, and HF forums don't have the same number of people; so usernames got correlated automatically (and wrongly) by whatever code Andrew used to combine the logins.

And the avatars got messed up on SF and HF because the transition only kept the avatars from here, but didn't combine the galleries.

When I post to a thread, I show up as Idril Aravis Mimetes, but my old posts, when viewed through the Forum Index are seen as written by Lady Marguerite Blakeney (my HF name before the merging), but when clicked are written by "Mr. Ithimar" (whose acquaintance I have never yet made).

On Science Fiction, I am "thevictorbook" whose acquaintance I have not yet made either.

I am running into some problems, though... Some posts are... Not there. On SF, it will say that Resha Caner started a thread, and then when you click on the thread, the first post by Resha is gone. It's like this with some other users too.
