Come one, come all, and gather round. The White Lady has dispatched the fastest of steeds with an invitation to all those that dwell in the fair realms of Holy Worlds’.

*unrolls the parchment *

To those whom it may concern, the Lady Airianna requests your presence at her first Holy Worlds’ Masquerade Ball.

The event will be held in The Grand Ballroom, located in the Citadel beneath the Holy Worlds’ Projects, on April the first. The attire is formal and a mask to conceal your identity is required. Please RSVP by March the twenty-seventh, all RSVPs should be sent to the Lady Airianna herself.

Alright, that’s enough of that! *shoves formality out the window *

So, if you haven’t guessed, you’ve all been invited to my Masquerade Ball! It’s going to be lots of fun, I promise, and will fall in nicely with our April Fools festivities. :D

Now, how does this work? Well, allow me to shed some light on the subject *sees the commercials for Meet the Robinsons every time she says that *.

You’ve got the dates down, between the above silliness and the invitations in your inboxes, but let’s talk particulars. As you all know, or rather should know, one of the biggest contributing factors to a Masquerade Ball is hidden identity, which will be the theme for my ball.

And that’s where the RSVP information comes in. In the upcoming weeks I am hoping to get a flood of pms from all of you containing a picture of yourself that looks similar to these two pictures.

That’s right, we’re all dressing up in masks! Once I have your picture, I will then store it away in my secret lair until it is time for your debate at the Masquerade Ball. I will upload everyone’s photos (including my own) into The Grand Ballroom (room to be created the day of the party, and housed in the citadel), thus giving everyone anonymity, allowing us to guess who is who!!!

Now, before you all start fretting about if you do or don’t have a masquerade mask, let me assure you that you don’t have to purchase a mask in order to participate. Captain Nemo and I, when we were recently together, spent some time in a costume shop trying on a bunch of different masks, and taking pictures on our cells. So, if you can make it to a costume shop, you can participate!!!

Also, we will not be showing your whole face, just a frame of your eye, as shown in the above examples, in hopes that this will aid in hiding your identity, and also allow more people to participate since many do not want full faced pictures of themselves on HW.

Please send in your RSVP (picture of yourself in a mask) to me by Wednesday, March the 27th. Those who participate by sending in their pictures will have their names placed in a random drawing giving them the chance to win a prize!

Please ask questions if you have them, or help make suggestions. Can’t wait to see everyone’s submissions!!!

I'd love to, but... well, there aren't any costume shops around here, I don't think, and my mom would probably be weirded out if I did ask her. :P I could ask one of my friends if he has a mask I can borrow, if he comes over before the 27th...

I'm looking forward to it. *Digs up mask*

Redemption is to be purchased, to have a price paid. So I was redeemed from my master sin, and from justice, which demanded my death. For He paid the price of sin by becoming sin, and met the demands of justice by dying for us.

For all men have a master. But a man cannot have two masters. For he will love one and hate the other. You cannot serve God and sin. So I die to the old, as He died, and I am resurrected to the new, as He was resurrected.

Or push come to shove, you can always ask a friend to photomanipulate a mask over your face. Since I won't be able to join anyways *has workstudy all day Monday*

*sings from Phantom of the Opera* "Masquerade! Paper faces on parade..."

I think I'll be able to make it if I find a mask, or paper plate, or some paper, or something else. ;)

Oh fun! I'll see what I can do... I may or may not be able to participate, it could be quite difficult to find a mask, but I'll see what I can do!

*is thrilled with all the excitment the thread is generating!!! *

That is an excellent idea, Jem. You could always photo manip a mask, if you can't get your hands on an actual mask. :D

*skips out so happily *

Will we be "masquerading" our usernames as well, or is this April 1st ball just for the photo masquerade challenge? (Yes, I am really into that masquerade thing. *is excited* *can't wait* :dieshappy: )

Oooh, this sounds like wonderful fun! :D :D :D My mom has some old masks she made in college and I'll ask her if I can use those. They're really pretty. ^_^

And if anybody can't come because they don't have a mask, I can certainly photomanip a mask of your choice onto your face. ;)

Idril: No need to masquerade your names. That’s why you all are sending your pictures in to me. I will post them all so no one will know whose picture is whose. And I’m thrilled you are so into this!! :D

Juliet: Yes, we can dance. :D There will be other threads available in the grand ballroom. So far I have planned a thread where we can describe the outfits we wear to the ball, but I am open to other suggestions. :D

E: I’m so glad you’re coming! Thanks for offering to Photo Manip for us. You and your mom were on my “to contact” list, if no one volunteered. ;)

Roager: That’s a great idea! I’m so glad you’re coming.

Are we not dressing up in costumes (Name changes, different avatar, different color, etc) as well? Then we could guess who is who as well as guessing the pictures.

Could you by any chance do that for me? I was going to say I couldn't come because I don't have a mask, and I can't see me making one. :D So if this is possible, that would be awesome. :D

Ooooh! I've always wanted to go to a masquerade party!

Now to see if I can convince my mom to take me to Pier 1 Imports to take a mask picture...

I shall do my best. I usually come right home on Mondays.
I also have a mask from Halloween two years ago.

Wait, so if you are having a mask, and then there is a ballroom thread, and you describe what you are wearing on the thread. Which means that if you describe which mask you have, they would know who you are?

Your costume doesn't have to be anything like your mask picture, or your mask picture anything like your costume. :D

It'll be great to have you, Inkling! :D

Airi, on the day of the party, will we get a list of everyone who submitted a mask picture so we know who to guess from? (So we don't guess people who are not participating)

If there was a "guess who the mask belongs to" maybe you could have judges for the best mask? Just a suggestion.
