Thanguis: *Still with a bit of sarcasm in his voice due to the fact that he still thinks Kaida is trying to make him victim of some cruel joke* Then by all means, show me this truth of yours. You seem to be on friendly terms with him. Where might I find him? And how, might I ask, were you, a woman of youth, able to find him, while I have been searching these long years for him and found only suffering?! Suffering Kaida. The truth of the world, whoever he is, is either the cause of or is ignorant to a great deal of suffering. And the truth is, we would all be a lot better off without him.

Kaida: *closes her little book and tosses it to Thanguis* I didn't find Him, He found me. You can see I'm not stranger to suffering. Neither is He. I was dying when he found me. Dying in nearly every sense of the word. And I'd be dead another dozen times over if He hadn't- *Kaida suddenly grips her right shoulder and draw her breath in sharply. Blood begins to seep between her fingers* And... With my condition... He's the only thing keeping me alive, really. *she begins looking around for a cloth to put on her fresh wound*

Kaida: *cracks the pill open with her teeth* Thank you. *begins applying the ooze to her wound* I'm pathokinetic. It means I can do this, *stiffens her right hand fingers, turning them to bird talons and back* but it also means my scars can reopen if I happen to be thinking of the moments they were inflicted.

Thanguis: *a look of confusion washes over his features.* My world, as you call it, cannot be that different than yours, wherever it is. I have roamed far from these lands, perhaps I have seen this country of yours. Tell me about it, that I might remember.

*Note: The world Thanguis lives in is closely related to earth. They are all sons of Adam through the lineage of Enoch. The story goes that Enoch was taken by God to this new world to start a new line of men who would escape the devastation of the flood. Thanguis is a descendant of Enoch, though strange things have happened to his people since then (hence the snake features). Other people have been taken from earth to live there as well, though the time lines don't match up in any linear way. So there have been Christians in that world who have faced a similar difficulty that Kaida seems to be facing. Hope that helps.*

(But that's exactly what happened in Lor-Amar! although it's probably less of the plot line...)

Kaida: I suppose so... Seeing as my world and Earth-side required the same salvation... *closes her eyes and tries to think of where to start* They're both rather the same as features go... Trees, mountains, lakes, deserts... We have three moons though, and dragons and shape-shifters and other odd things...

Thanguis: *sets the small book on a nearby table, and begins to speak with the slightest tinge of excitement in his voice* This place must be far indeed. *Looks out the window at the (only) moon and the stars* How did you come to this place? The library is an attraction to be sure, but not one worth traveling the distance it seems you have. Might I retrace the paths that lead you here?

*Me: Wait...So Enoch is the patron of your world too? Or just the connection to earth? I think my idea was first conceived when I read C.S. Lewis' The Magician's Nephew. Remember all of those pools with worlds on the other side (or something like that)? I have always started my world building on that premise. But I imagined this world to be empty. Sort of a place were people of earth could travel to in the future; at least that was the original intent. Is Kaida a main character of yours from a story?*

Me: A secondary character... There are portals connected to Lor-Amar from Earth, but several of them lead to times of the past. Enoch was the first human to come through some thousand years ago by Lor-Amar time.

Kaida: I don't remember... It's as if I'm dreaming now, because I can't remember what I was doing before I came here... I wonder if I might have been transported here, but it wasn't my doing.

*Me: I wonder which world he went to first, ha ha! Have you ever read the apocryphal book called The Book of Enoch? You should do a wiki search before you read it. I haven't finished it yet, but it is interesting. I see why it wasn't admitted into the current canon though. It is rather strange...*

Thanguis: *stares for a moment at Kaida through narrowed eyes. Breaks his stare with a sigh and looks out the window to the greying sky. He speaks softly, almost to himself.*
"Dawn brings the light by which we live.
Will it scorch unrelenting,
Or will it gently call the flower?
My eyes may see its coming forth,
But will I know where to run
If its fire proves to end this hour?
My heart sees what my eyes cannot.
Dawn was once a friend of mine.
At its light, will I stand or cower?"
*Sighs once more, then stands slowly and walks to the door. Turns his head slightly to say,* Perhaps we will meet again under a different light. *Presses his hand against the door, and it creeks open. Leaves.*

Thanks guys! That was fun! I may need to edit Thanguis' intro now to not be quite as evil as he used to be ;) . It was good to get to know everyone a bit better, and I look forward to doing it again.

Did my characters accidentally make a character a bit good again? I had another character mess with a villain's alignment before...

Yeah, a bit, but that is okay. I made him up just before I sent him into the library. I actually might use him in my story now.
I should do this more often.

Andorin, I want to congratulate you. Your character was really quite good, in my limited acquaintance with him. It's hard to make a good character and it's even harder to portray him through the means of a character role play thing, and I don't enjoy the experience of interacting with them as much as I did with yours very often. * bow * I like Thanguis. And, may I say it – * checks to be sure Diki is really asleep * – Diki even did at one point. 0.o

Ha ha! Well, thank you ur...My Lady? *Ponders which of the Lady Rwebhu Kidh's names Andorin could pronounce in real life.* I really enjoyed getting to know Diki as well, and I'm sure Thanguis wouldn't mind bumping into him again. We should try to do more Roleplaying. I really enjoy dialog/action. Maybe that is why I want to get into making films.
I would love to do this again with you...My Lady.

Sorry I didn't 'talk' much.

That is okay. Vijante's presence helped mold the atmosphere. Thanguis was about to start a fight before he showed up. It really helped shape the conversation.

(Kidh... * nodnod * it's really simple. A plain 'k', and plain 'i', like in 'sit', then the 'th' sound like in 'that'. Rwebhu a bit harder...) Eh...Diki would, I don't think I'll have 'em meet again. Diki greatly dislikes recurring acquaintances. :P Anyway, thanks. * smiles *

(And I never actually thought about the similarity between these roleplaying threads and screen plays. Cool.)

That's what I was going to say. * grins * He added a good tone to it. Seriously. I hope he'll pop up again somewhere where I can get to know him better.

I like my characters having repeated acquaintances. :D It would be interesting to have Kaida and Thanguis meet again because she's always much snarkier on first introductions.
