(this might belong in GD)

Over on Facebook, I started a thing that seems to be going over well, so I thought we should play with it here.

It's a sort of writing exercise where you describe the person who wrote the post above you as though they were a character in your story that your main character just met. Obviously, some of the physical traits can be somewhat made up, but it's been great fun so far.

(I'd post one myself, only there's no one above me, so have at it!)

:D

Sure. :D
Quote:
That night at supper I slid onto a bench in the main mess tent, too frustrated to take my meal with the Riders. I didn't want to see any of them for another week. A Raechal woman sat next to me, her ears pinned back in displeasure, picking at the food on her plate.
Surprised at finding a Raechal who didn't launch into conversation the moment I appeared, I scooted a little closer. She came up to my shoulder, mostly because of her wild spikes of black hair - more a rumpled look than a purposeful one. She looked up and met my eyes with an implacable hazel gaze. I raised my eyebrows. She shrugged, the tips of her ears flipping briefly forward and then back again. "It's too loud. They don't like it."
"They," I said, shoving my spoon into a chunky broth.
"Mmhm." She reached back and dug in the collar of her shirt, her small hand coming out gripping a very small, very displeased lizard around the middle. As soon as she let go it scurried back into her shirt. She snorted.
"Oh," I said, and concentrated on my food.

Is it like this?

I walked in the park to see if the cold air would keep me awake long enough for me to think, but the air wasn't cold enough. I was half-asleep as I walked. All I could think about was the rustle of the aspen trees lining the path and the faces I passed one by one.

A young woman with brown hair and glasses caught my eye as we passed and looked concerned. I paused, half-thinking she might need me to help her with something.

"Are you all right?" She studied me. "If there's something wrong, I might be able to help, you look..."

"I am all right." I nodded briefly and began to walk on.

"Are you sure?"

I half turned and nodded again. "I am simply tired. Good day."

"Night."

I smiled. "Yes. Good night."

* hopes that was the way you're supposed to do it *

Yep! That's the idea. (sorry, I've been wicked busy and haven't been able to get back in here... Disregard this post and write a line about Rwebhu.) :D
