Dropping by to say hi, I just joined this wonderful website.

I live in Australia, as you probably guessed from the title. I have an international marriage and two wonderful kids...and very little free time.

I'm a history nut, read mostly sci-fi fiction, but fantasy such as 'The Lord of the Rings' still holds first place in my heart.

I just finished reading 'Emperor's Edge' which was a steampunk fantasy and quite a lot of fun. My fav authors are Tolkien and Alastair Reynolds. (And btw, I LOVE my new Kindle.)

I have written one YA Christian epic fantasy novel, which I put on Kindle recently. That took eight years and eight drafts, so I'm not looking at doing a sequel anytime soon.

I started writing my first novel in grade 6, and though I never finished it, I kept the story and the illustrations.

God bless
Peter

Welcome aboard, Peter! Though I suppose that greeting is more appropriate for sci-fi... but anyway! Welcome! Enjoy your stay, and make it a long one! :D

Hi Aratrea,

I bought the basic model Kindle. I wanted something like paper, not backlit, not like a PC or iPad screen. And it's amazing, even works in direct sunlight. My wife and kids were most amazed, and daughter wants one too. (She wants anything tech.) I've only had it a couple of months but have read about a dozen books on it, and yes, many of them freebies :)

My book is 'A Knight from Dein.' It is set on a parallel world with Earth, and focuses on a merchant-knight who comes to a nation styled after 15th century Europe. He soon offers his services to the king when it becomes apparent that the evil amalehqs are about to invade and destroy the country, and with it, the continent. 174,000 words!

If you'd like a free copy, let me know. (and, um, I'm hoping to get some Christians to review it on Amazon.)

Thanks Jonathan, Calista, Lord Tarin, and Lady Amaris, a suitable greeting to anyone boarding a medieval carrak.

Lady Nicole, here's the link to a map I drew free hand back when I started the novel.

Lady Kitra, if only paper could only be sent electronically...

When I saw the post title, I thought, "Yay, another Australian!"

Then you started slathering on the layers of coolness:
You're married (cool),
You've already finished and published a book (cool),
and you've drawn an amazing, professional looking map, FREEHAND! (Epic.)

So, yes, you're cool enough for Holy Worlds. ;) Have some muffins! You like muffins? They're blueberry. :D

Dear Aemi,
Step 1
Please go to google. Type in 'google translate' and paste in what I wrote.

Step 2
Please answer the question - I'm curious to your answer.

God bless
Peter

Dear Aemi,

Sorry, I tried it on google translate myself and it thought it was Portuguese?!

"doshite anata no namae wa, Ninho-go desu" is Japanese for - "Why is your HolyWorlds name Japanese?"

LOL

Wow. That's an awesome map, Peter! I'm sure that was quite a project. My brother draws maps, so I've seen how much work they can be!

Thanks Lady Nicole, it sure was. Done with a 0.1 pen on special tracing/drawing paper. The shades on the second map was done with pencil.

God bless
Peter

Wow! A 0.1 pen? Those are tiny! The effort was worth it though--your map looks great!

Thanks :)

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Dear Aemi,

Sorry, I tried it on google translate myself and it thought it was Portuguese?!

"doshite anata no namae wa, Ninho-go desu" is Japanese for - "Why is your HolyWorlds name Japanese?"

LOL

Peter

Ohhhh, okay. Heehee. Well, my name is in Japanese because, after playing with Google Translate for a while, I found a name that both sounded cool and had a cool meaning. I'm not Japanese at all. It just sounds cool. ;)

Ah ha. Well, you see, I speak a little Japanese 'cause my wife is from Japan.
